INTRO TEXT

History

(Note; This is a list of major and minor life events, will compile into story form at a later time) 1. Born in a port town outside of Limsa Lominsa, mother worked as a cook, father missing at sea. 2. Early life mostly uneventful, took an interest in the ocean at a young age, and swordsmanship not long after. 3. Enlisted in the Maelstrom and joined a crew of privateers. 4. Discovered an interest in magic after several conversations on the subject with an crew mate. 5. Left the service of the Maelstrom, whereupon he used his connections to help him in finding an apartment and began to study the reemerging art of red magic.

Affiliations and Known Associates

Maelstrom: Calen spent several years in service to the Maelstrom, working on a privateer ship that regularly made port along the coastline of Limsa Lominsa. While he is no longer an active member of the grand company he still considers himself to be part of the Maelstrom and maintains some of the contacts that he made during his service.

Auryon Aimshot(PC): A woman he met during his time at sea. Seems to be more of a rival than an ally, though the rivalry has become more friendly with time.

Thyme spriggazer: A woman whom Calen believes has a very on the nose name. He likes to refer to her as his complimentary roommate, as she was staying with the previous tenant of his apartment and he allowed her to remain when he moved in.

Little R: A strange white haired woman who recently approached Calen. He believes her to be some kind of seer or spy, and thinks she has a great list of party tricks.

Lystrad Alberant(retired PC): A mage who briefly enlisted with the Maelstrom and was stationed on Calen's ship. While the two were good friends for a time, they've spoken very little recently.

While Calen is not overly religious he can occasionally be heard loosing prayers to Llymlaen, often when he is unsure of what he is currently doing, or unsure of what to do.

Quirks

Calen likes to pretend to be superstitious, occasionally making up superstitions on the spot to see if anyone will give them any credit. Usually these are things he just happens to remember AFTER the person in question has already triggered them.

When it comes to magic Calen holds a slight preference towards using white magic that he is working to overcome.
