She has spent most of her life under the care and tutelage of her mother and father, learning skills from both so that she can become an invaluable member of her tribe. Her father, Suren, taught her how to fish and assist in the building of small boats and ships. Her mother, Mokhatai, taught her how to find and pick the proper herbs for healing and cooking, as well as how to swim in the great Ruby Sea. By her 12th summer, Mokhol had become her own person, taking trips with the adults of the tribe when they set out in search of resources and to trade with nearby tribes. By her 18th summer, Mokhol had grown into a beautiful and strong-willed woman. Unfortunately, her strong will did not sit well with many of the Haragini males and she went many summers without a single mating proposal. However, this did not cause her spirit to wane, instead she devoted her efforts towards helping the tribe prosper. Everything in Mokhol’s life was going well until the fateful day which would change her life forever. While on an expedition to collect herbs and ground fruits from the steppes, Mokhol and four of her kin we ambushed and imprisoned by several hyurs from Kugane. Over the course of 8 days, the Haragini were tied up and forced to hide under moldering pelts so they could be slipped past any guards or the overly curious. On the 6th day of their harrowing journey they were all thrown into the hold of a ship bound for Eorzea, along with about forty other captives. At least seven captives died on the way to Eorzean shores, four of those seven were Mokhol’s kin. Mokhol herself was mistaken for being dead and thrown overboard. The details here are vague, but it is obviously known that Mokhol survived and was brought back from the brink of death; no one knows by whom. Since her arrival and eventual recovery in Eorzea, Mokhol has spent time wandering the landscape and learning the languages of the strange people there. For a time she found refuge with a tribe of Auri who taught her a great deal about the new world she walked. After some time, Mokhol decided it was time to head out on her own, search for her tribe, and seek out those who would pay for her skills. She found better when a former adversary of hers approached her with a proposition to begin a new way of life; a new path to fulfillment and success. Now she provides healing and protection for those in need while still searching for the means to find the way back to her tribe. For the first time since before the day she and her kin were taken, she feels hope again. APPEARANCE Mokhol stands at 5 fulms, 2 ilms tall. She has a slight, but athletic form and moves with a cat-like grace but without exaggeration. Her bright, aquamarine eyes stand out amongst the rest of her features, giving her an intense look without having to make any facial expressions. She has long, silver-blue hair with black tips, and her complexion is a soft, ashen-blue hue. Her overall appearance is usually very unassuming, and she tends to wear conservative attire in different shades of blue. More often than not, she appears unarmed which only adds to the docile demeanor she often portrays. Her voice is soft and smoky, giving her an air of nobility; until her nervousness or aggression kick in. Aspects That Stand Out: ■ Her vivid, aquamarine eyes which appear to glow even in broad daylight. ■ Her attire, which tends to be much more conservative than most. ■ THIRD ASPECT PERSONALITY In the beginning, Mokhol was more like to offer a little casual conversation before judging someone’s intentions or character. However, after spending considerable time in Eorzea and being subjected to the harsh world within it, she’s now more likely to give the cold shoulder over even a few words. She still has a very forgiving and gentle heart, but it’s often hidden by the mental coldness she displays through her actions and words. And, not much for being touched by strangers, she has been known to swing first and ask questions later. These days, her real self is concealed by a thick, barbed armor which prevents the goodness inside of her from being wounded as she had been in the past; only patience and a keen eye will ever recognize the ‘true self’ she hides within. L I K E S ■ The Sea – Since the moment she was born into it, Mokhol has loved the sea and anything that comes from it. While she understandably fears what terrors the sea holds, she has control of her fears and does not let them interfere with her desire to be a part of it. ■ Stories – A good tale is worth more than platinum in Mokhol’s view. She will sit and listen to tales short and long, often providing refreshments for the story teller. She enjoys adventurous tales, but tends to avoid the stories of everyday drudgery; the everyday struggles are meant for conversation, they do not make for good tales to pass on to others. D I S L I K E S ■ Chaos – Mokhol was raised simply and still hasn’t fully adjusted to the hustle and bustle of the Eorzean cities and trade-routes. Although she has been trained to focus and meditate, she is unable to function properly if there is too much chaos. ■ Slavers – Having nearly become a slave herself, Mokhol abhors slavery and slave-trading, regardless of race or purpose. She will happily hunt down and kill any slavers known to her. And, although she may not free any slaves herself, she harbors a silent interest in destroying future slave-trading. H O B B I E S ■ Gardening – Whether at the stronghold or her own home, Mokhol loves to cultivate plants and trees. She takes loving care of her garden and often sells the fruit of her labor to merchants and private customers. Most of this stems from what her mother taught her about herbs and ground fruits. ■ Swimming – Swimming is Mokhol’s all-time favorite activity. When she needs to wind down from the day, or cool off when her anger gets to be too much, she can often be found floating in the surf off some beach in La Noscea, or wading in the waters off the Mist. S T R E N G T H S ■ Compassionate – Those she considers friends or allies have earned respect, and even fondness, from Mokhol which she shows this through her deeds. She will often give of herself so that another may succeed, or go out of her way to help a friend or ally in need. ■ Flexibility – While she respects the laws wherever she goes, she also understands that there are times when the law is a burden or a hindrance, doing more harm than good. W E A K N E S S E S ■ Headstrong – Mokhol can sometimes be unyielding in her beliefs. Her early life was simple and structured, so she can find it difficult to change her mind on something she’s believed to be truth for so long. Because of this she’s often seen as inflexible, difficult, or even rude, though she tries very hard not to be any of those things. ■ Withdrawn – Although it may not show, especially with how much she can talk, Mokhol rarely ever trusts anyone enough to tell them all that she’s thinking at any given moment. This mostly stems from a line of failed friendships and relationships which have caused her to retreat into herself out of a need for security. As I grew up, I was introduced to video game RPGs (Gauntlet, Final Fantasy, Morrowind, Fable), eventually finding my way into the MMORPG world through (WoW, Guild Wars, SWTOR). Throughout most of my life I’ve also played several tabletop RPG’s including most of the D&D series, Call of Cthulhu, Rifts, and Pathfinder. I enjoy delving into the occult and the esoteric to bring a bit of a twist to each of my characters. I’m generally very fluid with RP and open to almost any type of RP so long as it is supported by a story or background. CHARACTER TIDBITS Potential Plot Hooks ■ Mokhol and four of her kin were abducted from her homeland by a group of traffickers led by a Hyur man. The intention was to sell the Haragini as ‘entertainment’ to wealthy persons in Ul’dah and Limsa Lominsa. Mokhol escaped, but the Hyur has discovered she’s still alive and now wants to find her. ■ Mokhol obtains and sells various dangerous plants and animal glands on the down-low to groups and individuals looking to take care of ‘problems’ with other groups or individuals who are corrupt. This might bring her face-to-face with dangers she wouldn’t expect. ■ After spending a considerable amount of time in the Aether after her death aboard the trafficker’s vessel, Mokhol was brought back to life through unconventional, though non-voidal, means. She lost all concept of time while she was floating in the Aether and eventually learned how to manipulate her own aetherial force. Something she can still do to this day. She can even manipulate other people’s aether, with their consent, to a certain degree.
