When Yashi was but 14, it was expected of him to step up as Heir to the Otaroi clan under his father, Yarashi Oratoi, who was the as the head of the clan. However, due to the clan's mistrust of him because of his fascination with the west, Yashi was not suited for the task, a fact both he and his father concluded, and his stepbrother OData Otaroi was declared the heir to the Clan. With Odata now heir to the clan, Yashi was forced to leave the Otaroi lands as was customed to prevent any chance of civil war in the Clan.  So, after much consideration, Yashi was tasked to explore the world of Hydaelyn with one of his uncles, to learn about the strange and mysterious lands beyond their clan and to make allies along the way. Before he departed, his father gave him the clan's most sacred artifact, the legendary seven swords of seven, Virgin rose. With it, he knew his son would become a swordsman of legend.

After that, Yashi took up with his uncle and began traveling the world of Hydaelyn. It was During this time, Yashi Otaroi, now a man of 17, was separated from his uncle and wound up in a Ul'dah recruitment center for the Eternal Flames. The Flames quickly recruited the unusually skilled swordsman and sent him off to battle the Garlean invasion to the North along with the rest of the Alliance. It was during the war that a special unit of elite stealth killers was created, known as The Garlean Reapers. The squad was compromised of the best killers in all the alliance, numbering up to 11, with Yashi chosen as the squad lieutenant. The squad of 11 was sent behind enemy lines, into the heart of Garlean Empire. Their mission, to eliminate any and all high priority targets in Garlean society to disrupt their political, military, or social hierarchy.

The Reapers carried out their orders to the letter, killing many Garlean citizens both within and outside the military; Politicians, Military Officers, merchants, and even celebrities. Whoever was considered to have a profound impact on the Garlean society would be quickly eliminated by the Reapers. The team of Assassins soon become one of the most wanted groups in Garlemald, racking up a bounty of 100,000 Gil a piece, causing their actions to become more and bolder as they almost took pride in the Bounties they were offered. Among the Reapers, Yashi Otaroi earned the nickname "Virgin Rose Slayer" due to his blades magical powers in battle.

Unfortunately, before they could try and eliminate the emperor of Garlemald they were ordered back into Earozea to help on the frontlines against the XIVth Imperial Legion invasion.

Shortly after their arrival, the team was sent by the Eorzean Alliance to help in the battle with the VIIth legion in a final battle to expel them from Mor Dhona. However, the team suffered major causality during project Meteor summoning the Primal Bahamut. After that, Yashi Otaroi left the Immortal Flames and returned to his homeland of Oratoi, to almost never be seen by an Erozea citizen for five years. That is, until now. Yashi Otaroi has return, with his former life of an Assassin behind him, and his goal of redeeming his blood soak soul ahead.

The pedals are enchanted to offer an attack known as "Thousand petal strike" which, unless stopped, fires a single blast of Enpi across thousands of pedals in multiple directions in the form of seconds. However, if the pedal it is transporting to is destroyed, the blast will deflect back on the user.

*Pedal Step: In this form, the hilt of Yashi blade sprays forth a multitude of pedals that are enchanted to allow him almost instantaneous transportation between each one. However, there are conditions. For one, the pedals merely act as a point A to point B transport, allowing him to move at superhuman speed, but do not fully transport him. Second, it requires concentration and eyesight to use.

*Summer bloom: This ability allows Yashi to release a fraction of the blade's power, causing it to spray out a barrage of rose petals from his sheath and surround the target. He then transforms the petals into tiny, almost letter opener sized Katana's and launches them at his target but at the cost of sacrificing his defense and an extreme amount of his own personal aether.
