Biography

YASHI ORATOI

Yashi Otaroi was born twenty-seven years ago, to a couple of Hyur Doman's leaving on the edge of the coast in a small Finishing village during the 6th Astral Era.

The Village was a quiet, peaceful one that lay on the border of the Garleans Territory. However, when word of rebellion against their hundred-year-old oppressors grew, the Village began to silently harbor rebels and other forms of malicious activity against the Empire. When the Garleans learned of this treachery, their wrath was swift and brutal.

They raised the Village to the ground and crucified its inhabitants, not stopping until a wandering Ronin Samurai named Yarashi Otaroi managed to fight off the Garleans. However, by the time he had arrived, it was too late. The only one to survive was a long, single Child in the ruins of the death and destruction. With the child's parents now dead, the Samurai took the child as his own and booked passage to the far away content of Erozea for the two to flee the Garlean Empire.

After the two arrived, with Yashi now being a few years older, Yarashi began his training in the art of Jutsu. The two would soon become more than just a Master and Discipline, but that of a father and a son. Yarashi also began to tutor the young Hyur in the ways of Langue, Mathematics, History, and Philosophy, teaching him the code that all Samurai follow; The Code of Bushido.

When Yashi turned into a man of 21, His sensei forbade him from joining the Erozean Alliance in their attempt to repel the Garlean invaders. The two then argued for several nights, debating the morality of staying behind while others fought their battles. It was after one of these argument the young Yashi ran away from his home, making his way to Ul'dah, and signed up to the Immortal Flames and was sent off to fight on the Erozean front lines.

It was during this war that the young Ronin made his reputation as the "Red Samurai" for the rivers of Garlean blood he had made run red on the battlefield. It was this reputation that summoned Yarashi-Sensei to the battlefield himself, seeking to save his young disciple from any furthur horror of War. Unfortunately, the two met in the fields of Certeneau. The two were then witnessed to the calamity of Balamund, and the destruction that unfolded with the severe wounding of Yarashi. With his dying breath, the old Samurai passed on his enchanted sword, Virgin Rose, to his Disciple and besieged him to only wield it to defend the innocent.
