[edit] Details Personality Rumors Gallery OOC Notes GENERAL INFORMATION A former barmaid at her father's run down tavern, Gwendolyn has recently left home (without a proper goodbye) to seek herself. She's never known another life. The sudden appearance of an adventurer - a dime a dozen, usually - left her questioning what was out there. Determined to see what created the people who she'd spent years serving and watching get drunk, she sets out with the adventurer. APPEARANCE The first thing most people notice about Gwendolyn is her narrowed eyes and bored expression. Her features rarely brighten into a genuine smile, instead favoring smirks and scoffs. Her thick, auburn hair frames her no-nonsense face, complimenting her misleadingly soft blue eyes. Her arms, while thin, are more toned than one would think - years of carrying about mugs of beer, no doubt. Her physique overall is slim, yet she has a body that has known a decent amount of hard work. If one looked hard enough, they might note her ample bosom - no doubt a boon when she'd been a barmaid - but it's often covered, either by purposely unflattering clothes, or by her crossed arms. Aspects That Stand Out: ■ Uncharacteristically sweet eyes. ■ Hidden... assets. PERSONALITY Rarely does one find comfort in Gwendolyn's company. Years of watching men (and some women) get drunk, sometimes repeatedly over consecutive nights, has not left her with much warmth and empathy. Were one to get to know her, they might divine some shred of kindness beneath her sneer, but it would truly take some rationalizing to find it. Sarcasm and blunt quips come part and parcel with being in her vicinity, and when she isn't saying aloud what she feels of you, then surely she's screaming it in her head. L I K E S ■ READING - As a child, her educated mother would gift her hauls of books whenever there were funds. Since then, Gwendolyn has developed a taste of curling up with a book during her free time. ■ SWEETS - Proof that you are not, in fact, what you eat, Gwendolyn enjoys sweet confections. D I S L I K E S ■ BEER - Having been around it her whole life, and seeing its effects, Gwendolyn has developed a dislike of the smell and taste of most alcohols, but particularly beer and mead. ■ HOUNDS - Some might compare Gwendolyn's personality to that of a feline, and in true fashion, she is not fond of hounds, domesticated or otherwise. H O B B I E S ■ COOKING - Despite it being part of her old profession, Gwendolyn enjoys cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. She has a knack for making excellent bar foods, rich and hearty and maybe just a bit salty. ■ OBSERVING - Being such a quiet, glaring type of person, she spends much of her time watching those around her. Usually to find something to criticize, but over the years she's gotten quite good at spotting all manner of things. S T R E N G T H S ■ PATIENCE - Though you wouldn't expect it from her many exasperated sighs, Gwendolyn exhibits surprising tenacity. When she truly wants something, she will get it. The issue is finding anything at all worth her efforts. ■ CUNNING - A combination of excellent observational skills and the wit to craft up some truly painful remarks shows just how clever Gwendolyn can be. When she turns her mind towards more productive endeavors, she displays astounding creativity and mental flexibility. W E A K N E S S E S ■ WEAK - Despite years of lugging things around for her rather lazy father, Gwendolyn has no sense of combat. Her body is good, and strong, but perhaps a lack of fighting sense and body coordination has left her with zero interest in learning any weaponry. Plus, she never thought she would leave home. M O T I V A T I O N S ■ CURIOSITY - Gwendolyn never experienced anything outside of her father's tavern. What interesting things might be out there in the world for her? She would never forgive herself for resigning complacently to such a boring existence forever. She must, at least, see a bit of the world. Personal RP Limits As I'm still crafting her personality, background and overall tone, these will take effect when I actually start RPing. ■ I will play Relationships. She needs friends and connections. Fighting is fine, gore and anything of that nature is fine. Anything of any nature around her is fine - I personally am not squeamish or prude. ■ I won't play Romantic or sexual relationships. Gwendolyn is OOC sworn to someone already!
