She can very often be found approaching people just for the sake of a conversation or a new friendship. Despite tendencies to come on too strongly and do impolite things without thinking, the woman prides herself in being good company. Friends of hers are often treated to favorite dishes that Aeva prepares for them herself, as cooking is her main hobby outside of work. Always eager to learn more about the people she talks with, she adores swapping stories as well. Her naive nature leads her to blindly believe many of the stories she gets in exchange however, even if they're greatly exaggerated tall tales. She takes pride in her living, working as both a sellsword and a private investigator. Have a problem with a partner who you suspect of being disloyal? Suspect someone in your life of keeping secrets from you? She’ll stealthily tail them for you and uncover the truth. Need a bodyguard? Or need a strong fighter for some other reason? She’s got your back. If you could benefit from someone tough or sneaky in any way, Aeva will insist up-and-down that she’s the best person one can hire. So long as nothing illegal is being asked of her of course. APPEARANCE Aeva is a miqo’te who stands at roughly 5’3, and appears to be in her early-to-mid twenties. Her bright red eyes have vertically-aligned slits for pupils, and her ears and tail are on the smaller side. All of these traits mark her as a Seeker of the Sun, despite her name and behaviors being more in line with her nocturnal cousins. The woman’s layered and disheveled jet black hair is kept at medium length. Her bangs are swept to the side as well, mostly shrouding her forehead from view. If those bangs were to be moved out of the way or looked at from the right angle however, a diamond-shaped crimson gemstone would be seen, socketed dead-center on her forehead. While Aeva’s figure is still undoubtedly feminine, she’s lacking in more pronounced curves. In most situations, simple and ascetic fashion covers this lithe frame. Clothing such as scuffed and dirtied leather boots and plain hempen doublets. Her wear may change from day-to-day, though it’s rarely impressive or expensive-looking. With the woman’s plain clothing however, the twin short swords sheathed at her hips stand out with a stark contrast. Starting at the bottom, purple tassels hang from the pommels, dangling freely as Aeva moves. These Far Eastern-styled weapons are intricately wrapped around the grips, forming small diamond-shaped gaps in the black fabric. The dark steel on the pommels and guards are decorated with ornate golden trimming, the lines of which even curve to form various spirals and patterns. Aspects That Stand Out: ■ Often carries a pair of ornate short swords from the Far East. ■ Bright red eyes. PERSONALITY Cheerful, friendly, and outgoing. If this woman’s typical demeanor could be summed up in a few words, it would be those. She tends to take a genuine and curious interest in whoever she’s talking to, and enjoys listening about the hobbies, feelings, and occupations of others over explaining her own. The easygoing comfort the miqo’te experiences around other people can border on the extreme however, causing her to engage in behaviors that many would consider impolite. She’s prone to kicking her feet up onto tables, asking uncomfortable personal questions without thinking, and other things of that nature. Aeva will go far out of her way to do things for even new acquaintances, and will do so with energy and enthusiasm. Though combined with her profound gullibility, this trait of hers can be easily abused or manipulated without her knowing. Strangely, this aspect of herself is mostly reserved for women. Men may also find themselves showered with gifts, favors, and positivity after knowing Aeva and growing close with her, though this is a large contrast to the rather immediate displays of generosity that women receive. She's completely conscious of this inconsistency, and will explain her reasoning if it's ever brought up with her. L I K E S ■ Food. Any opportunity she has to try new foods will be jumped on immediately. Her first love is seafood, and Othardian cuisine comes in a distant second place. ■ Fighting. She has a knack for combat, and loves to get work that involves it. ■ High Places. She feels peace, calm, and security in high places. ■ Confidence. Aeva finds herself more naturally drawn towards dominant and confident individuals. ■ Women. While Aeva very much enjoys the company of all people, she has a preference for the company of women, even if those relationships are purely platonic. She still treats men with her usual friendly interest, but is less likely to show them quite the same degree of warmth and generosity immediately. ■ Music. While completely unable to sing or play any instruments herself, she is easily enraptured by those who can. ■ Hair/Ear/Tail Grooming. If her hair is being brushed, or she’s receiving scratches behind the ears, she’ll react to such things by becoming pleasantly relaxed. She expresses this enjoyment in civilized, non-bestial ways. Any mention of her being “cat-like” because of this will result in immediate defensiveness and annoyance unless she’s very close with the person. ■ The Far East. Aeva has significant interest in the East, as well as the things and people who come from it. D I S L I K E S ■ Bugs. She reacts to almost all bugs with intense annoyance. If a bug is ever in her presence, she’s sure to try to kill it. ■ Socializing with Crowds. Aeva is made uncomfortable when having to interact with too many people at the same time. One-on-one dialogues are strongly preferred. The further from a one-on-one it is, the less comfortable she feels. ■ Isolation. Being away from civilization or social contact for long periods of time cause this miqo’te serious discomfort, and can lead to her becoming depressed. ■ Cold Climates. Her ability to tolerate the cold is notably below average. She’s far less eager to visit colder regions, though her sense of adventure may take her to them regardless. H O B B I E S ■ Cooking. Aeva often spends her free time experimenting with cooking various dishes. One of her favorite things to do for friends is to cook for them and surprise them with their favorite meals. ■ Meditation. A more recently-attained hobby she picked up from Doman refugees, though certainly one she still thoroughly enjoys. She swears up and down it’s been a massive benefit for her ability to use ninjutsu as well as keep calm when facing stress. ■ Training. Having been born in Eorzea, she has only recently gotten the chance to learn her ninjutsu and has a lot of catching up to do when compared to the Domans. She trains and practices regularly to approach her goals. ■ Fishing. While not a skilled fisher, Aeva does enjoy doing it from time to time. As a seafood lover who grew up in Limsa Lominsa, she feels it only natural to try and catch her own meals on occasion. S T R E N G T H S ■ Selfless. Anyone she deems a decent person who’s willing to engage her in conversation is someone who Aeva will often act very selflessly towards. People she likes will be showered with positivity, gifts, and praise. For some however, this can make her seem like she comes on too strongly with her friendships. Men may require more time and bonding to get to see this side of her, but it's still very much there. ■ Confident. Her view of herself is very realistic, and she prides herself on her strengths and accomplishments. She’s very proud of her cooking, fighting, and athleticism. There are but a small few things the miqo’te has insecurities about. ■ Curious. Aeva is always eager and happy to learn new things, and it’s not uncommon for her to question the subtler intricacies of various things she doesn’t quite grasp. This is especially the case when these topics pertain to the hobby or interest of a friend. W E A K N E S S E S ■ Gullible. Unless facts blatantly and obviously contradict what someone is saying, she will usually take someone's word at face value and can come off as rather naive. This can lead her into believing all sorts of fabricated over-the-top positive traits about people, negative traits can easily be explained away, and lying to her is as easy as can be. ■ Too Informal. She rarely thinks through whether her actions or words will be considered inappropriate or impolite, and rather just does what comes naturally with a very minimal filter. She’s prone to asking questions that are too personal, kicking her feet up onto tables, eating messily, etc. ■ Dependent. Her happiness is very dependant on others and is far from self-sustaining. Having no positive social interactions for too long can have a large emotional impact on her. Q U I R K S ■ Talks in her sleep. Aeva will very likely respond to any voices around her if she’s asleep in the presence of others. While not nearly as articulate as she is while awake, she can carry something that resembles a conversation while sleeping. ■ Restless feet. If she’s seated or standing still, she usually can be seen idly playing with her feet. Tapping them against the ground, dragging them in circles, etc. ■ Lightweight with alcohol. It takes a very small amount of alcohol to get Aeva noticeably drunk. She’ll avoid drinking unless the company she’s with insists, as drinking drastically alters her behavior. It’s rare to find Aeva embarrassed about anything, but telling her about her forgotten drunken escapades is a great way to make her embarrassed. Artwork Screenshots Error creating thumbnail: File missing ಌ OOC NOTES ಌ OOC INFORMATION Player Note I'm not new to roleplaying in general, but I'm extremely new to Final Fantasy 14 roleplay. It's a very real possibility that I may miss crucial and important lore while roleplaying and coming up with ideas, as I'm inexperienced with the setting. If you feel I've missed something important, please feel free to bring it up with me out of character. There's likely a lot of things Aeva should know that I as an inexperienced player wouldn't know. Personal RP Limits My only real limit is only ever going to come up in the context of long-term RP relationships, and it involves certain sexual stuff. I write my roleplay characters with the same aversions to the same sexual things for practicality's sake. So roleplay exactly how you normally would, Aeva will naturally steer things away from my limits in character and it won't be a big deal at all. Pretty much, any sexual themes besides actual intercourse are going to be totally fine. Mature themes other than that are absolutely acceptable as a whole though. I'd rather this not influence how you roleplay with me, I'm just including it so people who may want an RP relationship know what they're getting into with me beforehand so I don't make people who require ERP waste their time. Disclaimer ■ IC =/= OOC. I know the vast majority of people understand this and that this isn't necessary, but I just want to reaffirm just to make sure. Aeva's feelings and reactions to certain characters, events, opinions, etc, don't necessarily reflect my own. CHARACTER TIDBITS Potential Plot Hooks Please keep my rumors section in mind! If the common and (more hesitantly) the uncommon ones would start a conversation then that works. ■ Aeva is searching to be hired to act as a paid servant of sorts for somebody, someone who can make regular use of her set of skills. She insists on combat and/or subterfuge being a big part of a lot of her tasks. She's open to more domestic/mundane tasks being present as long as they aren't the entirety of what she does. This isn't much of a secret. A direct consequence of the Doman ideals of what it means to be a shinobi being completely drilled into her, she feels one's skill in ninjutsu grows faster when one dutybound as a servant to an other. Though most "traditional" ninjas serve as retainers for royalty, she hasn't quite the connections to make this happen, and wishes to settle for an imitation. If your character could make use of this arrangement, it's definitely something that's publicly known about her that they could discuss. It could be a short conversation due to either one of them thinking it wouldn't work out. Or, with some communication, it could potentially be a long-term arrangement. ■ Aeva is a private investigator and a sellsword. Feel free to have heard of this, and feel free to approach her to chat about her services, whether out of curiosity or a genuine desire to hire. If they suspect a lover of cheating, suspect someone of keeping important secrets from them, or even just need a tough fighter for some reason, all of these things are good reasons to talk to her. ■ If your character has spent lengthy periods of time in the poorer areas of Limsa Lominsa, there's a good change they bumped into Aeva at some point in the past, although her time spent there has lowered drastically over the last few years. If someone knows her from here, it's likely it happened at least a few years ago. Character Lore Adherence In other games I've always tried to be as lore adhering as possible. Final Fantasy 14 is no exception, though my lack of experience may cause accidental lore issues to occur. If you notice this -politely- bring it up with me out of character please and I'll look into it! I certainly don't want to be claiming anything impossible or contradicting something known.
