[edit] Details Personality Relationships Rumors Gallery OOC Notes GENERAL INFORMATION Cyneburg 'Hailstorm' Hayle is a veteran adventure hailing from La Noscea. She's a rough and tumble type who's seen and survived many battles and has plenty of kick left in her. She regularly takes blows that would leave most people maimed or dead and has earned a reputation for her strength and stamina. This longtime member of the Adventurer's Guild has humble beginnings as the daughter of orange farmers. She was born to an Ala Mhigan mercenary and an Ul'dahn jeweler who left their respective lives to start a simpler, safer life in La Noscea. Being her father's daughter, however, Hayle yearned for a life of adventure and glory and idolized the Marauders for as long as she could remember. At the age of 18, she got into a fight with her parents about not wanting to grow up to be some farmer's wife and ran away with her father's axe to join the Marauder's Guild. Not long after came the Calamity, the earth-shattering event which tore the world asunder. Her parents were butchered by Garleans during this event, and Hayle still blames herself for their death to this day. Rather than regret her decision, however, she chose to embrace it and has become one of the most efficient adventurers in Eorzea and beyond. APPEARANCE Upon first glance, most people see Hayle as a brutal Marauder with a vicious looking axe ready to break their head in. Upon closer inspection, one might notice her heavy use of makeup, the attention she puts into her hair and skin, and the scent of her perfume. Her appearance skirts two worlds; that of a vicious hunter of beasts contrasted by a woman of almost noble appearance. If she wasn't covered in scars and had a blinded eye, someone like her could easily be seen on the arm of an Ul'dahn noble at a fancy dinner party. Otherwise, she's a tough La Noscean lass with rippling muscles, the kind that come of heavy use from a life of hard work. Hayle typically wears looser tops, rarely wears skirts or dresses, and often wears her favorite heavy duty leather boots. In the field she prefers armor that protects her important bits while still allowing some breathing room, generally a mixture of tough hide and chainmail. She carries an air of strength about her, the sense of a woman who sees danger daily and has become used to it. Those who get to know her better find her to have an open-minded and motherly personality, clearly liking to take care of other people and open to speaking about problems. Due to her dangerous lifestyle, she's chosen to live more hedonistically, drinking heavily and being loose and open with her relations. The woman can outdrink nearly anyone in Eorzea and seems to hardly be affected by alcohol, drinking bottles of hard liquor daily. Contrary to her normally bold and confident demeanor, she has trouble keeping her cool when people flirt with her or try to embarrass her publicly with risque talk, causing her to become flustered very easily. He's always there for me, always has my back, an' I trust him more than anyone else. I want t' build a life with him, Xaela or no." The leader of The Hive, Hayle's adventuring company, and Hayle's closest friend. The two started as simple friends when Hayle found him all beat up in Limsa Lominsa, but it didn't take long for romantic attraction to bloom. He's an excellent fighter, a kind soul, and he cares very deeply for Hayle. He is her Khan, and she is his warrior Queen. They regularly take on Guildleves together and have slain numerous powerful foes at each others' sides. Saru Mol (♥) - Sister Hayle's Thoughts: "She can be a bit of an odd bird, aye, but we've been through enough together that I consider her my family. Maybe it's a little odd that I've adopted a Xaela as a little sister, but I care about her an' I'd do anythin' for her." A Xaela hailing from a splinter tribe of the Mol, the Mol-tagtaa. Hayle found her lost and alone in Ul'dah and took her home to take care of her. They've been two peas in a pod ever since. Hayle has helped her learn more about herself, has acted as a guiding figure in her life, and helped defeat an evil wraith that took over her brother's body. Delesta Dorel (♥) - Lover Hayle's Thoughts: "The lass is like fire an' I can't look away. Aye, it started as somethin' more... casual. Simple. But now it's somethin' serious. I love her, truly. Maybe folks say we ain't the best fit for each other. I say we enjoy each other an' that's all that matters." An Ul'dahn criminal who had her attention caught by Hayle. She knew all of the right buttons to push on the Highlander, enough to get her into bed, but they ended up spending far more time together after and became something more. Delesta being a criminal and Hayle being an adventurer makes them a bit of an odd mix, but the two find ways to make it work. Mozmoetta Efriette (♥) - Lover Hayle's Thoughts: "At first I hated her guts after what happened with Saru. Now? I can't stop lookin' at her. Ain't gonna lie, I'm surprised things turned out the way they did between us, but I ain't complainin'. She's been real helpful since offerin' t' come questin' with me, an' she's real passionate an' lovin' t' boot. I'm excited t' see where things go with her." Handmaiden of the Proving Grounds, Hayle originally didn't like Efriette because, while acting as a therapist for Saru, she suggested something awful to the girl. Once the air was cleared of misunderstandings, Hayle invited her out to apologize and the two hit it off splendidly. Now the skilled Astrologian is going out of her way to assist Hayle with her adventures from time to time. Their relationship is new, but it seems to show a lot of promise. A'sana Dorel (♥) - Confidant Hayle's Thoughts: "At first I weren't sure about her, but she an' I have been growin' closer. She's Del's love, aye, but she's become an important part of my life too. I'm happy t' call her my mate an' more, and am real happy she's invited me t' stay at her home with her an' Del." Delesta's sister and fiance. The two had a falling out for some time, which is part of what led to Hayle forming a relationship with Delesta, but they've come back together again stronger than before. At first Hayle felt odd about their relationship, but she's grown to like A'sana as a friend and more, and now rests with her and Del at her house whenever she's in Thanalan. Y'zareen Serhan (♦) - Friend Hayle's Thoughts: "A strong an' skilled huntress, real good at singin' an' playin' music too. I'd take her out on a quest or hunt any day. She an' Gan have been startin' some relations I hear. Good for him, she's a real good lass!" A huntress from an island south of Vylbrand, Y'zareen is an adventurer that Hayle has grown fond of spending time with. She's recently become a partner of Ganbaatar's and she hopes to get to know the woman better herself, as both a fellow adventurer and mutual interest to her mate. ACQUAINTANCES Helinda Redwyne ($) - Sponsor Hayle's Thoughts: "She's a retired gladiator, runs a ton of orphanages, an' is willin' t' pay for my adventures? Damn, she's amazin'. I'm lucky t' have her sponsor me." Hayle's sponsor for the Proving Grounds gladiatorial games. Owns Redwyne Orphanages and bakes the best cookies in Eorzea. X'au Jakkya(♦) - Friend Hayle's Thoughts: "He's one of Ganbaatar's loves, an' he seems like an alright lad t' me. I really ought t' see 'bout talkin' t' him more, but I consider him my mate at least, aye." One of Ganbaatar's lovers. Hayle knows him well enough to like him, but she admittedly doesn't know all that much about the man. Still, she appreciates his kind demeanor and the fact that Ganbaatar loves him. Wyra'to "Coeurlkin" Mhakaracca (✔) - Rival Hayle's Thoughts: "Lad's bleedin' insane, don't get me wrong, but he's also strong as hell. I can respect that, an' I kinda consider him a rival because of it. We go toe t' toe in the arena a lot, an' I trust him enough t' take him on quests I know need a heavy hitter. Just don't expect the lad t' be subtle 'bout anythin'." A young monk in training who exhibits as much strength as he does anger, Wyra'to has shown up enough times in Hayle's life for him to earn some respect from the Highlander. Their strengths rival each other, and they often flip flop between being at each others' throats and being chummy. She overall has a decent opinion of him, but also thinks he needs to shut up more than he does. I'll always remember that, she's the reason I'm still alive." ★ ""Hailstorm" Hayle? More like giant brute! She got into a "friendly" bar fight with my son and he ended up with three cracked ribs and a broken arm! I watched her carve a beastman in half with that giant axe of hers. She just had this... smile on her face. She was enjoying every moment of it. Not going to lie... for a moment I had trouble telling who the real monsters were there." ★ "I swear, for all the hits she's taken she's almost never visiting a chirurgeon. It's like she heals on her own! That can't be possible though, right? To just... heal all of that without any kind of medical attention?" ◢ Rare Rumors - Very rarely overheard. Please ask before using! ★ "That Hayle's a real piece of work... I've heard she's gone toe t' toe with a dragon - a dragon! - an' killed it. All by herself! Apparently she skinned it an' had its hide turned int' that coat she wears... scary stuff. Makes y' wonder what she can't do..." ★ "I knew her parents, Asketil an' Caitir. They were good folks, small time farmers but grew good oranges. They always had t' pull her out of stuff, like how she always started fights with the other kids and threatened to kill one of the farmers with her pa's axe. She was as wild back then as she is now, but she's cooled down a bit with age I think. Thank the Twelve, I'd be a lot more worried for the realm if she was still as hot headed as she was back then. But... I hear when she's in a fight? That hot headedness comes back. If she's anything like her dad then..." ★ "That Highlander with the axe... the red one. I saw her in a fight once. She took a real nasty hit, then her eye just... glowed a bright red. It was like she was never injured, like the wound wasn't even there. Maybe my eyes were just playing tricks on me..." Artwork Screenshots ಌ OOC NOTES ಌ OOC INFORMATION Player Note Leader of the Mateus server's Eorzean Adventurers linkshell and Discord server (https://discord.gg/93eWCQS), aimed at bringing people who RP as or interact with adventurers together regardless of Free Company or other affiliations. I'm open to all manner of RP, including mature, dark, or erotic themes, but have an overall preference for good storytelling and fleshed out characters, though I'm always happy to help flesh out a character as well. I can also GM scenes upon request, especially for members of my group! Personal RP Limits I'm a pretty busy college student, so during the semester my availability is pretty low except for weekends. I generally prefer to schedule scenes out in advance because of that, so I don't do well with on-the-spot RP. ★ I will play A veteran fighter with a jovial nature, a mother / older sister figure, a famous gladiator / adventurer, a skilled Marauder, an untrained Warrior. ★ I won't play With people who disrespect the power level of my character. who refuse to communicate OOC, and especially with people who cannot separate IC and OOC actions. I try very hard to make Hayle believable and to sell other players' actions, I expect the same done for me for any longer term RP. Likewise I expect the people I RP with to understand that it's just a game and that actions in the game do not equate to actions out of the game. Disclaimer ★ I play Hayle at heroic power levels. I don't quite mean Warrior of Light levels, but she fights terrifying monsters daily and is strong as hell. I try to make Hayle a believable character in this world using in-game actions and events in the MSQ as queues. If you can't deal with a buff Highlander being able to flip a dragon over her shoulder here and there, I'm probably not for you. ★ I'm both open to and engage in both mature and erotic roleplay. They are both integral parts of Hayle's character that will undoubtedly come up while RPing with her. If themes like that make you uncomfortable then I don't suggest playing with my characters, at least not long term. CHARACTER TIDBITS Potential Plot Hooks Various plots hooks my character can work with include: ★ Adventure! Hayle is good at what she does, and is happy to be hired or to team up on nearly any kind of quest. ★ Fame! Hayle is a very popular adventurer and gladiator, and she's happy to entertain her fans. ★ Training! Looking to learn the axe? This Marauder can teach you a thing or two. ★ More Training! Looking to help an untrained Warrior control her Inner Beast? She could really use it! Character Lore Adherence I try to adhere to lore within reason, keeping my plots and character traits grounded within it. That said, I believe there's plenty of bend within the lore, and if anything can make justifiable sense then it's probably alright. Whether that means taking ideas from other games, taking a concept that doesn't have a lot of lore about it and doing something with it, or just trying to write an overall good story, I'm fine with it. Be creative, explore, just use what's in the game as a solid foundation!
