“ Ever since she a kit she was apart from the tribe. Her ears too keen for others to understand, she lead us a number of times to fresh game and welcome fields. Now a shade of her former brilliance, a pitty and a runt. ” - M'yrmeleo Nunh

Story Past
M’dhori was always a little ‘special’ growing up. Oft not wanting to play with the other kits in the tribe, she prefered to bask in the sunlight and listen to the wind. Mi would frequently leave for places nobody knew for extended periods of time. The village elder wasn’t keen on this behavior and lectured her a number of times on how it was dangerous to venture too far; how it was hazardous to the tribe for her anti-social character. Mi shied from these lectures, listening to the wind was far more interesting. As an adolescent it became more apparent that Mi felt things, heard things, that others did not. She could feel the coming of bad weather as well as where prey traveled without any assistance. This usefulness drew her closer into the tribe center and as consequence forced her to be more sociable. Nevertheless her mind strayed from her routine tasks to the waves of emotion that washed over her when ever she listened.
One day a traveling peddler visited their tribe for trade of beast skins. With him he brought small crystals hoping to find a young companion for his travels. With his arrival Mi fell horribly ill, coughing up her luncheon and rendered immobile. A few weeks after the peddler had left, Mi found her strength again but the worlds secrets closed to her. Her premonitions became incredibly inaccurate and lead the clan astray in search of beast kin and shelter. Displeased with the development the clan stopped listening to Mi and she found herself cast aside. Even her mother and littermates were ashamed they had ever believed in her. Mi delved into her prefered solitary lifestyle again. She wanted to hear again; listening harder and more attentively for the voice of the earth until she could hear it as she had before. Unsatisfied with the way she was cast aside, she didn’t divulge that her hearing had reawoken. She began venturing away from the tribe again with little consequence. The further Mi wandered, the clearer the voices became. At the cusp of adulthood, Mi sought to leave the tribe. No longer viewed as a gift from Azemya, permission was granted.
She ventured far, learned to hunt on her own and further tuned her hearing to expertise. During these few months, the red moon waned. Mi felt it drawing near long before it was in view. Its fearful nature unsettled her; knowing nothing would dissuade its course. During the final days of its descent she was deafened by its foreboding omnipresence, thundering and clashing filled her ears. Mi had no way of hunting and was forced into retreat of nearby caves. Then, its reckoning came over Eorzea, the nearby continent. Her whole body trembled hearing the earths screams and opening of wounds. After the devastation, something was different, something was wrong [in Eorzea]. She felt its cry for help, pleading for balance to be restored. Mi decided to stake a new life in search of a way to help her distant friend.
She travelled seaward meeting many strangers who told tales of what had happened: heroics of the warriors of light. The stories inspired Mi - she was not alone in responding to the world's outcry; others joined her in protecting nature's balance. From that moment on she set her mind on becoming an adventurer and to fully understand her powers.
Whilst on her voyage to the sea faring state of Lominsa, other prospective passengers took a fancy to her. They considered that the Arcanists guild would likely be her most opportune destination and offered escort to the establishment. Nearing Limsa Lominsa however she became terribly seasick and began retching everything she had eaten the previous day fending off the ‘generous’ men. Only after arriving in Limsa Lominsa, it got worse. Troubled by their ill passenger, the ship's crew unceremoniously dumped Mi and her belongings in a city corner, leaving her to fend for herself. Luckily the Arcanists guild wasn’t too far and the students weren’t as heartless as the sailors. They offered her remedies and shelter, quickly learning that she meant to join them. After a few days her nausea subsided. They were able to trace the source of her ailment to the Aetheryte crystals which dot the city to providing quick transportation. Mi decided to never use an Aetheryte for her own means unless absolutely necessary after dealing with convulsions for two hours attempting travel through one. Determined, Mi, despite her unwelcoming arrival, decided to stake her future in Eorzea. She learned the way of the arcanists quickly and became a flag student in record time. Her sensitivity to aether provided Mi with a precision none can refute. Upon mastering the fundamentals of the Arcane arts, Mi ventured forth to become a summoner and gain even more knowledge of herself. Avoiding the inescapable nausea, Mi sought life outside the cities, still preferring to live with the migrations of prey; she retains her mobile solitary lifestyle.
During an exploration of a lonely cape in lower La Noscea she encountered a female Miqo'te standing in front of a stone engraved with a spinning wheel. The Miqo'te's face was turned into the wind, one arm raised to the sky with fingers outstretched as if she could catch it. Her stillness was absolute, save the occasional whisper escaping her lips into the wind; the rare ear movement as though the wind were responding. Curious, Mi waited, watching, until the miqo'te's arm slowly returned to her side and she turned to meet Mi's gaze with a bright smile. The Miqo'te's name was U'tano Kazhe, the stone Nymeia's, Mi would learn as the two became fast friends; U'tano striking Mi as being willful and free-spirited like the wind Mi had conversed with for years. Fascinated by U's personality, Mi travelled alongside her for a few short weeks. Constantly on the move, U'tanos tour of Eorzea was much more accurate than any map Mi had been required to study, full of new faces and names that would be impossible to entirely remember. Lagging behind, Mi took her leave of U to return to her own quest, but not before finding a small crystal engraved with a hand. U seemed particularly pleased when Mi showed her the crystal, and advised Mi to "Listen for the crystal voices of the Hand of the Twelve. When they come, hearken to their call." The crystal's voice was so quiet Mi strained her ears to hear it, all for naught. Mi continues to follow the flow of the Aether, healing it and restoring the balance when ever she can but she knows this is just the beginning. Something is coming, she feels it, but it remains ever distant. She responds to the call of crystal when she feels she can but must devote her attention to the restoration of Eorzea.
Fleeting Glance
Body:
From her sun kissed skin to her gridanian shaded tail, there is no denying M’dhori’s remembrance of the earth. M’dhori’s body is industrious but soft suited for her mobile lifestyle. M’dhori is taller than most, her toned arms are fit for field work and her never ceasing legs are always primed for travel. She has long dexterous fingers, that of a musicians, but are usually tracing the words or arcane geometries of her grimoires. Despite her bookish ways, she remains physically fit due to her constant migrations and time with others.
Face:
M’dhori’s heterochromia eyes tease, smile, and study all the same with the shades of endless summer dreams which lie behind. M’dhori has an ample face with bright mirrored tattoos under each eye. Her right cheek is pecked with a small green heart tattoo along with a short scar cutting across one eye both received from her youth.
Hair and Tail:
M’dhori’s hair is that of grasslands caught in the equinox of spring and summer and her tail is full like a long stock of wheat ready for harvest. M’dhori, despite her mobile lifestyle, keeps herself well groomed. She her hair cropped save for her side bangs which she likes to beaded with matching colored metals.
Clothing and Accessories:
Like a chameleon, M’dhori will change her clothes to match her company or environment, with little modesty. This includes but isn’t limited to long scholarly robes, warm winter jackets, hardened leather for battle, playful swimsuits or her usual garb. She prefered outfit is unrestrained yet functional consisting of an open back white canvas top, ankle high leather sandals, wrist warmers or fingerless gloves, and a short leather skirt always accompanied by a thigh bound pouch. M’dhori is often not seen wearing hats since she is always complimented on her hair, but will on occasion if it matches her outfit or is functional.
