Jessamine is a native of Ul'dah, born into poverty and the eldest of four girls. The family's circumstances would have surely killed them off if it hadn't been for her father's marriage to her stepmother, Damia. She took control of the family's finances and guided them out of the hole in which her husband's gambling and drinking had brought them. Jessamine owes much to this woman; though her methods were sometimes darker than others, Damia imparted much needed lessons to her eldest stepchild. Lessons that would prove to be lifesaving throughout Jessamine's life.
Jessamine is fairly tall for a Midlander. She has a dark complexion, made darker by growing up in a hot and dry climate. She's prone to smiling and smirking, though it might be more of a defensive tactic than actual contentment or happiness she's feeling. She wears her pitch black hair long and has it in a ponytail much of the time (though she will cut it from time to time, especially if she is staying in Ul'dah or Ala Mhigo for a long period of time).
Aspects That Stand Out:
Jessamine leans toward a calm and passive demeanor, disliking brashness and having a reputation for losing her temper easily. This being said, when around those whom she is familiar and comfortable with or if she's had a bit too much to drink, Jess can be openly affectionate, loud and if something pisses her off, she lets it be known.
She strives to be a good person and when she accepts leve work or contracts, she does so selectively. If the main purpose is to give aid and relief to those in need or it is to prevent a great deal of violence, Jess will be the first to volunteer herself, no matter how dangerous the mission or how remote the location is. She rarely allows herself to choose monetary reward over more practical outcomes and has developed a reputation for being a compassionate advocate for the downtrodden.
