| − | The daughter of Anthe, a conjurer from Gridania, and Rikuto, a retired gladiator from Ul'Dah who was assistant guildmaster for the gladiator's guild by the time she was born, Amelia grew up in her father's hometown loving to sing. She would always sing on the street somewhere, especially near the Sapphire Exchange, for extra spending money so she wouldn't have to ask her family for it.<p>

| − | Her life, however, changed drastically at age sixteen when the Calamity hit and her mother, who had volunteered as a healer, died in Bahamut's rampage. That was when Amelia had decided to follow in her mother's footsteps and become a conjurer herself. But first she had to deal with her boyfriend at the time, who was working for the Syndicate and had become rather emotionally abusive towards her. It took her almost three years, but she'd finally left him (with his younger sister's help) by the time she was nineteen. Shortly after that, she moved to Gridania to stay with her maternal grandparents and eventually start her conjurer's training after her 21st birthday.
