"Though I sympathize with this dandiprat, firmly entrenched betwixt crime and poverty, I am nevertheless helpless, yet to continue admonishing her for the laws she breaks. Her chicanery is ever the decision she seems determined to make, and as such her lot will end in tragedy." ~ Guard Sergeant Tilmund Strongfist "Had she the physical strength to swing the sword, or the focus to cast her magics consistently, a job would have been proffered. Alas, she can do neither. Behind those sapphire eyes the gears turn forever forward, but none are privy to her true thoughts. Of singular note is her adoration and respect of Lalafells; it appears that, in my estimation, she treasures our small stature and keen intellects, features to which she feels akin and affords no small amount of admiration. Whether or not she is aware our strength exceeds her own is another matter." ~ Momoru Moru, Adventurer. "'Tis unfortunate this costly medicine is compulsory for your body to remain hale; such a lamentable circumstance compels your submission with the debt you accrue. Though your body remains frail and fragile, ever does your imagination and crafting skill shine brilliantly. 'Tis clear supplying to the underbelly pains you, yet I am not of mind to release your debt, as your ingenuity is too valuable a commodity for the syndicate to lose." ~ P.X., Black Market Supplier
Labeled "diminutive" and "slight" by strangers, in truth she is underfed, scrawny and physically weak. Malnutrition in her younger years left her a head shorter and more fragile than many other Miqo'te. Oft confused for a Seeker of the Sun at a distance due to her fair complexion and light-toned, wild and short hair, it is only upon closer inspection can one see her deep teal irises and round pupils, if they can overlook the dirt and grime layered upon her skin. Her clothes are tattered, old and patched, marking her as being firmly in the claws of deep poverty.
Aspects That Stand Out:
"My time working with her was well spent -- her bright and cheery attitude has become infectious and 'tis plain her passion for her work spills into her creations. 'Twas disheartening that she disallowed further attempts from me to glean more of her; the greater I pushed of her history, the more irate she became, though her composure would quickly gather each time. I falter to use the term 'lies' when addressing the subject, but if pressed too hard on her past she will concoct stories as a form of self-preservation. 'Twould seem that her drive is to strive t'wards the future unfaltering, as the past chases her like a looming beast. 'Neath the surface of her happiness, she chains her sorrow in a deep well and deflects all attempts of it to rise. Notable further is the distressing state of her physical body. While some days she carried the stamina of a normal person her age, on others she was too weak to stand. I attribute these to the medicine allotted to her by the under-market suppliers as their means of control." ~Tirimeaux Chandeliceaux, Contractor Shaped by stories of eld, of legends and departed heroes in a bygone world and creatures fantastic, Teora dreamt of following the footsteps of an adventurer and creating her own tale. Yet, tales of the wondrous and the intriguing are not granted to all to who ask, no matter the desire. Ever slighted by the lack of her physical mastery and scarcity of focus, Teora bears the burden of her perceived failures; and though others would label her an accomplished healer, she has mind to disagree and mention, instead, that she is an "excellent creator" and "inventor". Over time, she has become wont to fall into the depths of her machinations, and new acquaintances oft remark on her proclivity to gravitate towards the technical in conversation. Once, she harbored ambition to supply the adventurers and heroes of Eorzea with superior weapons and goods to compensate for her inability to participate, yet the fangs of poverty have ensnarled her betwixt its jaws. Teora's time is now oft spent crafting illicit goods for Ul'dah's dark underbelly to survive, causing her no small amount of resentment and self-loathing.
Engaged regularly with her own thoughts and oft oblivious to happenings near, loud noises easily startle her and lead to swift frustration. Described at points as 'inattentive' and 'obsessed' by outsiders, she can, at times, be an acquired taste. Despite being awkward in nature with a penchant to say the wrong thing, she carries a rosy, optimistic demeanor. Counted among her greatest flaws is her dismal combination of craving recognition and approval, yet despising being the center of attention; such factors make her malleable, easily misled and prone to manipulation. Such predispositions oft result in misguided attempts to please those around her, though the intent may be pure.
"From that canyon he plucked me as a babe, and like a sire he became onto me. Knowledge and stories he bequeathed to me, in that I learned to be resourceful, intelligent in my applications; and ways of healing magic became known to me. Truly, a better education could not be afforded. In those days we had companions with whom to sit by the flames after the passing of the sun and enjoy company; but their names and faces have been obscured from thought. My adopted sire, too, escapes my memory. When I attempt to recollect his face, I see naught but brightness and shadows. That day, those many years ago, I lost all, like so many others. Yet though their identity fades from me, the lessons imparted have never strayed from my mind. In this, I am as I began: with wraiths stalking my every footstep in the darkness." - Teo on her past
