Mara Ileres, will carry anything, including hope.

Physical & Mental

Appearance

Mara's as short as 5 fulms and 1 ilm, with a tail about a third of that. She weighs in at 123 ponz, a result of an unhealthy diet. She takes pride in her sky blue eyes, adorning them with a darker blue eyeshadow to draw attention to them. The same cannot be said of her hair, which is dyed black to hide her natural red hair.

Mara favors light clothing, even in positions that would normally necessitate protective raiments. Mara has mixed and matched several garments, many of which are made with her own hand. One common element in her clothing is the skirt; she is also proud of her legs, and is more than willing to show them off.

Personality

While Mara attempts to be cheerful from the get-go, her use of extended vocabulary could hint to nervousness. As she opens up, she will confide in a closer friend the gap within her heart. The gap never to be closed, she nonetheless entertains with daydreams and often attempts to lighten the mood when she, herself, is in one. She has been known to take things literally; whether out of legitimate ignorance or to humor herself is unclear.

Like all coins, there is an underside: while she will commit to anything that catches her fancy, she does so with little regard to herself. Many of her life-altering events are due to foolishly chasing a dream, and even in decisions of smaller scale, she will pay little attention to her own condition. Overworking is a common problem for her, even when she attempts to pace herself. When taking a decision, she will often think of how others will be affected. As such, she will be careful to not let others come to harm in battle, or quickly heal the wounded. Care must be taken she doesn't come to harm herself.

Sexuality

Mara appears to care very little about sexuality, though she has shown a clear preference for young-looking men. She has a preference towards hyur and miqo'te; however, she shuns any advances, instead preferring emotional intimacy.

As far as clothes are concerned, she prefers a well-dressed man.

Magic Ability

It is said that Mara originally hailed from Garlemald, where mages were noticeably rare and machinery was favored instead. Then she cut off ties with the Empire six winters ago, right after the Calamity. It stands to reason, then, that the one to come from a clockwork empire would come to favor the use of magic after abandoning it. She uses it as though it is an extension of her body, even going as far as learning to weave aetherial armor to protect herself and others from harm.

She tends to be surprised whenever she sees someone in Eorzea that cannot use magic, having long considered it the birthplace of magic.

Mara's original name is known to be Lucia sad Junius---and makes a point to note that she bears no relation to Livia sas Junius. Her family, whatever their names may be, could very well be alive---as could the contubernium she belonged to.

Mara has led a life of isolation, and thus has few people to call friends.

Friends and Acquaintances

  💑 Zhael Estoma - Presented to Mara by Valirelia Ferox, the two soon grew together, even so much as to cause Mara to pursue a relationship despite her plans to wed L'sharr Nunh. One fit of despair later, Mara cancelled the wedding, leaving her free to pursue this new budding romance. While lazy, he is far gentler, with an imagination to match Mara's, making the two quite compatible.
Reppu Hijiri - A longtime friend of hers, Reppu has advised Mara against her own impulsive choices many times. As they'd known one another since adventurers began to appear in droves, Mara would even consider her a best friend, and even an older sister (despite Reppu being two years younger). Up until a recent spat between Mara and Aysun, she had been living at Reppu's house.
Katara Garamonde - Going as far back as the beginning of her recovery one year ago, Tara and Mara have been through many ordeals. Despite Tara having impaled Mara in the past, she herself harbors no ill will towards Tara.
Mysterious Girl (Echo) - A strange miqo'te that appeared in Luna Tsukihime's place, she holds many of her mannerisms, a side effect of her incredibly potent Echo. Mara decided to name her after her power. She's playfully ambiguous, though Mara's aware that there is a 'real side' to Echo.
Emiiresa Abilyne - Having known one another for a year, Emii and Mara both face their own hardships. Mara perceives Emii to be a Warrior of Light, and as such, she promised to be as strong as Emii.
Elatus Shadeflare - Mara had taken part of a recent recruitment program hosted by the Adventurer's Guild, and was assigned this childlike thaumaturge. Much to Mara's chagrin, she is selfish and lacks common sense; she is largely responsible for many things going bad for Mara. Mara, loyal to a fault, cannot bring herself to abandon her.


Enemies & Rivals

Breitak Zod - It all began when Mara introduced Sharr to the group. Breitak started to insult her by blowing smoke by her, which she mostly ignored. When she confirmed that she was originally Garlean, Breitak finally bared his axe against her, effectively driving a wall between Mara and Reppu. She does not enjoy senseless taking of life, especially when it proves a man like him right. But she very much would like to cripple him.

Recent Events

The Garamonde Trading Company has floundered; tired of being subject to the whims of big-headed presidents, Mara opted instead to create her own business: the Ileres Delivery Service. She would make deliveries ranging from the mundane to the dangerous, effectively serving as both a source of income and as a way to continue adventuring.

She remains in Lyn'to Amariyo's house while helping Katara Garamonde purchase a company house.

PC Opinions & Rumors

Rumor has it that she has the uncanny ability to read minds. This has led to some avoiding her altogether.
