Very little is known about Eko Tenok. What is known is that he was born on a jungle island, possibly past the edges of the known map. His tribe had not advanced beyond the technology of prehistoric man. They had a very limited spoken language, no written language, no oral legends, no religion, and no laws. They used stone tools and lived life day-by-day, like animals. Eko's people were of Miqo'te descent, hence their feline attributes, but had possibly broken off before the race split into Keepers of the Moon and Seekers of the Sun. Their appearance is not easily placed into either category. On nearly every member of the tribe was braided and beaded hair patterned with red dye, simple red face paint, and utilitarian loincloths. | Very little is known about Eko Tenok. Some time in his early twenties, the tribesman known as "Ay'eeko't'thenn'oak" was captured by horribly lost sailors who intended to use the peculiar Miqo'te to get rich. Whether he was to be exhibited for anthropological research or was going to be sold as a slave fighter was unknown. The cargo was found by the Yellowjackets upon arrival at Limsa Lominsa, and the sailors were put in prison. The tribesman could not return home, and had no place to go. The primal man wondered Eorzea until he was arrested by the Burning Blades for stealing food from a caravan and horribly injuring several travelers. Abodo Po, a strange man in his own right, and scientist of the Immortal Flames, saw to the release of the Miqo'te into his own custody. There, he tamed the beast, shortened his name to Eko Tenok, and taught him to read, write, and speak Eorzean over the course of several years. Abodo Po was shocked by the quickness in which Eko was able to learn. Po contacted his associate Isaac Jacobi, who offered Eko a position on his crew. Impressed with his physical abilities from years in the jungle, Jacobi often used Eko on dangerous combat missions and secret assignments. | Some time in his early twenties, the tribesman known as "Ay'eeko't'thenn'oak" was captured by horribly lost sailors who intended to use the peculiar Miqo'te to get rich. During his time working with Captain Jacobi and the crew of Misericorde, Eko Tenok met Uther Skystrider, a former knight of Ishgard. Uther, being the kind-hearted sort, took Eko under his wing and further taught him about society's rules, and of his own personal philosophy of chivalry. After the war against the Garleans, Isaac Jacobi turned himself in to The Maelstrom for war crimes. He took full responsibility for Misericorde, thus letting his crew live free lives. History
Eko once again had no place to go.
In the past two years since Misericorde split, Eko has been travelling as a professional adventurer. He has taken it upon himself to learn more about the world he now calls home. His path has recently directed him toward Coerthas in hopes of helping the "tribe" of his friend Uther, and perhaps even finding the knight himself and working with him again.
Personality
Social: Eko Tenok can handle himself in most social situations without others raising an eyebrow. Occasionally, he will show his obliviousness to Eorzean culture by missing certain social cues and idioms, as well as forgetting his manners from time to time.
Combat: In combat, Eko is as much a primitive jungle fighter as he was during his island days. He makes attempts to stay calm and fight in a calculating way that would make Isaac Jacobi or Uther Skystrider proud, but he tends to bare his fighting fangs habitually. If the fight is dire enough, he will revert to biting and roaring as he once did in the jungle. His agility, strength, and speed are all very impressive because of his time outside of civilization and the known world.
Religion: Eko was not born into a society that has a grasp on religion. To him, it is a silly concept and he has no use for it.
Speech: Eko speaks, more-or-less, eloquently enough to pass as someone born on the mainland. He does a very good job of hiding his savage nature through speech. He does sometimes miss metaphors or certain implications, but it is not so common as to hamper his ability to communicate.
Appearance
Physical Eko's physical appearance is quite peculiar. From a distance, he appears to be a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te, but when one looks closer they will notice he possesses the sharp teeth and long tail of a Keeper of the Moon. In addition to this, he is quite tall for a Miqo'te. At 5 fulms 8 ilms, he is only slightly below average height for his tribe. Eko has a lithe, but muscular build. His muscles seem to bulge on his arms, chest, thighs, and calves, whereas the rest of his body is thin and sinewy. His face lacks the boyish charm of the average male Miqo'te. It is unknown whether this feature is a result of his unique tribe, or the simple weathering of the jungle.

OOC Inspirations
Eko Tenok is heavily and unashamedly inspired by the original Tarzan of the Apes books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, mixed in with some of my own ideas.
