Appearance
At full height Selthrana stands at 5'7", weighing around 125 lbs. She has generally Mediterranean features with olive skin, long, dark straight hair, dark blue eyes, thick eyebrows and a snub nose. Her face is often devoid of much expression, except for the sharpness in her eyes which can seem intimidating. Her jawline is a little too angular to have what one could describe as conventional beauty, but she is not particularly ugly either. On the rare occasion when she smiles, her features can be rather appealing.
Her body language is often closed-off, standing straight with frequently folded arms.
Personality
Upon first meeting Selthrana, she would come across as distant or reserved at best, and at worst stuck up and unsympathetic. This is largely due to her general lack of expressiveness, with the occasional exception of a wry smirk or a single crooked eyebrow. She has little patience for whining or drama and likes to keep to the point. Not one to sugar-coat, she will speak her mind clearly whether or not what she has to say is pleasant. Her humor is sarcastic enough that it may not be clear when she is joking, may seem like she is intentionally being harsh. Nevertheless, she can be quite kind and gentle when the occasion calls for it, and if she gets to know someone well enough they will likely see past her course exterior.
At the heart of much of her tendency to be unsociable is her lack of trust of other people, not a dislike for them. Far from it, she cares for people and wants to help those in need, but she is willing to be the firm voice of reason or to show tough love if she deems it necessary. Inquiries into her past will be met with vague, hand wave replies. Getting close to her is no easy task and requires direct, careful effort on the other person's part.
Among her core beliefs is an objective sense of right and wrong, but she is ever watchful to overly categorize given circumstances. She sees the grey fields between the black and white most clearly, and is quick to point them out to anyone who sees one extreme or the other. Poetic justice is often of more value to her than due process justice, but she will not go out of her way to hinder the law. She will often stand as a balance in any argument or confrontation, looking deeper into motivations and complications rather than surface value of the facts.
