Kamala Kahkol

Character
Kamala Kahkol is a budding youth from the Steppes of Othard. Once a child of the Tumet Tribe, Kamala was scheduled to partake in the ritual of being bound to the sacred tree of his tribe when he turned 10, like all the other children of his tribe had done.
However, destiny smiled not on the boy that day, as a band of hunters from the Buduga tribe came upon him. Snatching the boy before he could free himself, Kamala was taken hostage, and his tribe name was changed. Treated as a slave to the Buduga for many years, Kamala was treated harshly in the male-only tribe, as he was one of the youngest in the tribe at the time. His torture and longing for true acceptance caused him to fall in to a deep depression, wherein he sealed away many of his emotions for the sake of keeping himself safe.
One night, however, the stars smiled upon him, and the Buduga tribe came under attack from a warring neighbor tribe during their travels. Using the battle as a distraction, Kamala escaped, traveling the steppes alone for a full cycle. He then came upon the Kahkol tribe, who took him in, treated his wounds and his mind, and gave him the family he desired. They taught him to hunt, fish, and ride on horseback, as well as how to read the stars and read his tribe's language. He learned of trading with outsiders, and soon gained a wonderlust and desire to see the world outside the steppes.
Venturing out in to the world with newfound knowledge, Kamala boarded one of the many refugee ships leaving Doma, and came to the shores of Thanalan, where his journey begins.
Appearance
Standing tall for one of his age, Kamala may seem a bit intimidating to those around him. However, he still holds something of a baby-ish face that betrays his young age. His horns are downward facing, with small protrusions that run over his head. His eyes are icey blue on the limbal rings, leaving the middle to a deep purple. A tattoo is scrawled across his face in deep blue ink, going so far as to mar even the scale-like parts on his cheeks.
His hair is long, blue like the sky and fading at the tips to a deep night navy. His skin is a deep purple, which helps not in the blistering Thanalan sun.
His hands are slightly sharpened and hard to break, and his tail is long, thin, and spiked. He seems to wear little jewelry or any real personal effects-- aside from the intricate earrings wrapped about his horns.Behavior
Quiet for the most part, but usually very curious, Kamala may have a hard time approaching others. Usually, however, something about a person may strike up his curiosity, leading him to ask in his flat, but soft tone. He tends to hide his emotions behind something of a flat expression, yet when he smiles its always genuine. He finds the people of Eorzea to be an interesting lot, and finds some entertainment in watching them go about their day.
He tends to be wary around other male Xaela, knowing not if they are from the Buduga tribe. Should they give their names first is the only way to be sure, and he otherwise remains quiet, reserved, and suspicious of them until he gets their names.
Kamala also enjoys helping others, and has no qualms with hunting a meal for someone starving, or using herbal, natural remedies for a sick or injured person .Combat
Kamala is more a stealthy hunt than anything. He has a preference for using his bow in the way that a sniper would. Staying away from the main fray of combat, Kamala will use his skill to attempt to weaken and take down foes enough to give him time to escape.
If caught in close combat, he has use of a hunting knife, as well as his claws, but he prefers some distance between himself and any assailants. He is by no means good at close combat.
More to come perhaps when RP fleshes out!
