Character

General

Cyrus appears to be a very mild mannered, kind and friendly individual. He can often be find traveling the streets of whatever town he inhabits in search of anyone that needs help. From the richest king to the poorest beggar, in his eyes no one deserves to be denied assistance. When on patrol he tends to wear his armor, shoddy and well worn though it may be. He's seen with more traditional, conservative clothing otherwise.

Appearance

Cyrus stands a tad tall at just under six feet. He tries to maintain a perfect posture, at least while on duty. When off duty, Cyrus is noticeably more relaxed. His eyebrows aren't too thick and are generally set to give a mild mannered, overall calmed appearance. However, at times the inner halves can curve sharply should anyone manage to actually anger him. His eyes are rounded with an aqua blue coloring to them; a stark contrast to the straight, raven black hair that frames his features. His face shows no signs of permanent scarring; perhaps he's either really good or really lucky. His facial features, though touched by youth, denote strength and bravery, complete with a roman nose and broad cheekbones.

His skin is only slightly tanned and his musculature is not overly defined, but apparent. His shoulders are broad, likely giving him more of an intimidation factor than he rightly deserves. As of now, his armor is worn and shoddy. The pieces themselves are nothing special, bronzed and a little rusted in places though he obviously strives to keep them as clean as possible. Strapped to his left hip is a simple steel longsword, no special design or elegant writing anywhere to be seen. It seems to have long since passed its time, the blade patched and nicked in various places. On his back an equally used bronze scutum, complete with its own scratches and dents. Regardless of the poor wear of his armor, Cyrus wears it with pride and puts it to the best use he can.

Behavior

Cyrus comes from humble beginnings, and the way he acts more than reflects this. He doesn't spend money unless he absolutely has to and, more often than not, would rather give it to those in need than keep it for himself. He is incredibly respectful to all those around him and does his best to ensure he isn't stepping on anyone's toes. Although determined, Cyrus has a very innate passive nature and prefers to talk things out rather than draw his weapon if at all possible. He does not see this as a weakness, however. It simply means that should his weapon ever come to the ready, he knows it's for a just cause.

He's more than happy to converse with men and women alike and treats both equally regardless of the race, nation, or social class they hail from. This does not mean that he'll act informally should he cross paths with a noble; he just doesn't see the coincidence of one's birth to be at all telling of their true worth to the world. If he comes off as inexperienced, it's because he is. Despite having basic training from his parents, Cyrus has never really ventured out of the Shroud until now. He takes everything he sees with the wide-eyed fascination of youth and is more than willing to learn what he can about the world and the people in it. One particular downside is that Cyrus is incredibly trusting of others. While he is cautious of others when he feels the time calls for it, he is willing to give many the benefit of the doubt. He struggles to see the good in everyone, even if it isn't particularly there. This may land him in more trouble in the future, but it was generally true more often than not in the small villa he hailed from.

Combat

General

While Cyrus doesn't prefer to do battle, he will should the definite need arise. When he does, he prefers to act without doing definite harm to his opponents. This generally means that he'll try to keep his guard more often than not and, rather than go for killing blows, attempt to disarm his opponent and leave them disabled. While he doesn't necessarily have the proper skill or training to wield his sword and shield, he at least knows how to get himself behind them and keep the enemy busy. Perhaps in the future he'll learn to better use his hand-me-down arms.

Despite not actually being a knight, Cyrus strives to become one. As such, he follows a strict code of chivalry passed down to him by his mother and father. They often told him tales of heroic knights and epic battles when he was a child growing up and he seeks to emulate it as much as possible. As such, he will gladly accept any duel or challenge formally given to him. Furthermore, he strives to never turn away someone in need or turn his back on an enemy. He'll not strike an unarmed opponent and, should the need arise, willingly fight to his last breath.

Likes

• Meeting new people. He's more than willing to introduce himself to others and spend time with them.
• Making others smile. Beyond protecting them, he's always looking for ways to improve someone's day.
• Training. Anything that involves bettering oneself.

Dislikes

• Harming others and anyone/thing that harms others. This includes oppression and the like.
• Alcoholism. He'll drink during special occasions even if he doesn't like it, but he prefers to stay away from such beverages. He dislikes the way it tends to make people act and the things people do under its influence, though he respects a person's desire to do it until they start to cause problems.
• Fights. Cyrus only fights as a last resort and would much rather help others rationalize their issues than resort to physical confrontation.

Hobbies/Talents

• Armorsmithing and blacksmithing. He isn't particularly skilled at either, but knows enough to at least keep his own armor in repair.
• Woodworking is something he learned from his father and a skill he cherishes greatly. He often makes tiny little toys for others to cheer them up.
• Walking. Cyrus enjoys to simply stroll about and take in the sights of where ever he is. It both relaxes him and also gets him to know the area and is people more.

• Cyrus is incredibly approachable! He's always willing to lend an ear or helping hand!

♥♥ X'unmei Noh - When Cyrus first managed to leave his small town home in the Shroud, he set his sights for Gridania. His parents had used what connections they had to land him a position as a guard with the Order of the Twin Adders. Unfortunately, Cyrus was late to his meeting due to losing his way during the trip.. and then again after reaching Gridania due to being unable to find his Inn. However, the fates seem to work in mysterious ways and this time was no different. He happened upon X'unmei there, a Seeker simply trying to make it on her own. Despite Cyrus having nothing to give her in return, she showed him the way to the Inn out of the kindness of her heart. He couldn't let this go unrewarded and offered her to stay in his room with him. While it was incredibly awkward at first and Cyrus may have had to tell a few white lies to ensure she was able to stay, their friendship eventually grew into something far more. Unfortunately for him, events led to a breaking of their eventual engagement and Unmei left him for another. Rather than hold any outward contempt for the woman, Cyrus is still very much in love with her and wishes her all the best in her new life.
