Gehr’ir Ett (pronounced /ˈg EHR∙ir ett/) (21st Sun 2nd Umbral Moon (Apr 21)) , a prickly Keeper miqo’te hailing from the deep Twelveswood. He lives a solitary life with a tendency to come and go as he pleases. His regions of interest remain thus; Ul’dah, where he undergoes the study of Thaumaturgy and various courses; and the Shroud, migrating between its most reclusive Keeper settlements. Few call him friend, and nary half of those are reciprocated. There may be more to this indignant cat than meets the eye, but grating first impressions leave few daring to explore.
AUTHOR’S NOTE
- This character thrives on conflict and competition. I made him with the intention of being an antagonist to most people. Keep in mind he will be looking for opportunities to give your character a hard time.

Appearance
- Standing at five fulms, seven ilms and weighing in around one-hundred-sixty-something ponzes, Gehr’ir isn't the most imposing figure you’ll come across. With hair and fur dark in color and blue-grey skin pulled taut across the muscle padding his form, he's something of a shadow to be unseen. There's a crease in his brow that never seems to fade, and it can be difficult to discern when he's actually trying to be friendly with you. There is one thing to note, at least- his tail and ears are verily expressive. Perhaps sharp attention should be paid to these- and if one knows how to read them- they can find out what exactly is going through his head.
- The most notable of his features, sans his striking moonlit eyes, are the patterns decorating his face. He is loathe to be seen unpainted. (This make up changes from day-to-day.)
- Gehr’ir doesn not own the most fanciful of clothing (in fact he only owns two different coats), but they are maintained well enough.
Biography
1552-1568
Childhood
- The Twelveswood has been home to Gehr'ir since the dusk of his time, where he was born to a village deep within the forest. This reclusive family had no need for the sixth baby boy born to them, so he was offered to a sister village to resolve an old conflict. Unlike his natal family, Gehr’ir’s adoptive village had some exposure to merchant trade and other passersby. He often took interest in strangers passing through their hunting grounds, and made habit of being nuisance to them. This tenacity and mischievousness bred a self-confident miqo'te that loves to test people.
Young Adult
- During the first umbral moon after his or her fifteenth nameday, boys and girls of the family underwent a coming of age ceremony. Under Menphina's watchful gaze, the child solidifies their commitment to the Goddess and their family. At last they are permitted to wear the pastel paints often used by their people and become contributing members of the Keeper clan.
- Though not raised by blood, he was raised well, and given plenty of love and attention. The family’s excellent talent in archery saw to his expert use with a shortbow, accompanied with countless trials in surveying and trapping. The family held a particular distrust for the elezen of Gridania due to conflict between the two races over the years. This prejudice has passed into Gehr’ir’s adulthood.
1569 - 1578
- After the Calamity struck, his home was not spared. Although there were plenty of survivors, without their matriarch, the distraught few were unsure how to proceed. Most sought out other Keeper villages while others chose to assimilate with the Gridanians, much to Gehr’ir’s dismay.
- Unwilling to leave the depths of the forest, Gehr’ir travelled deeper into the Twelveswood in search of his natal village. He discovers them still still fairly whole, and they gladly welcome him back into their fold. He stayed with the Ett clan for many a moon, and earned their confidence. As he matured, however, Gehr'ir's wandering nature began to pull him further and further away from the Shroud. In the years following, he has become exposed to the cultures of the other city-states and their foreign (to him) wildernesses.
Present
(... No storylines yet. He wanders around, mostly..)
