Tima is a former member of a pirate brigade. He spent the majority of his life out at sea, avoiding much of the war and the drama of the invasion. After Bahamut's release, he gave it all up and returned to life on land, trying to get back in touch with the affairs of the continent.

Personality
Demeanor: Gruff and moody. He usually prefers to remain silent and observe, letting others do the talking. But he is stubborn and opinionated, even if he doesn't always voice those opinions. He does find joy in dryly teasing others, which can make him a difficult friend for sensitive people.
Quirks: Spontaneous napping in the sunlight. He has always leaned more toward the Nocturnal side, so sometimes overwhelmingly warm and bright sunlight will make him want to nap wherever he is. He also cracks his knuckles constantly.
Intelligence: He has very keen street-smarts and is talented with crafts that involve the hands. But he has few book-smarts and doesn't have much talent with skills that require a lot of reading and study.

History
Childhood
Tima Fei was born in the Black Shroud(Twelveswood). His family was private, and had a home of their own deep in the woods unaffiliated with any village or tribe. So Tima grew up disconnected from most civilization. He was 14-years old when he grew too bored and frustrated with his life in the woods and struck out to explore Eorzea.
Life at Sea
At age 16, Tima met a pirate captain while in Limsa Lominsa and was recruited. He then spent all of his time out at sea with his new crew, causing mischief with no real goals besides amassing wealth and having fun. In this way, he avoided any involvement in the war and invasion of the Garlean Empire.
Back on Land
Tima was content with his aimless life at sea and remained with the pirate crew for over ten years. But after Bahamut was released, everything changed. He tried to ignore the changes in Eorzea, but the roving life of a sailor didn't have the charm it used to when he knew everything was changing on land. So finally, at age 28, Tima gave up the pirate life and returned to Gridania to start fresh...
