Xiulan Dalamiq “I offer the sweetest of liberations—that of the soul.”

General ⁜
An ascetic wraith hailing from the depths of the Steppe, Xiulan is a creature that keeps mostly to themselves. Their true names—along with most other details of their life—are known to few. But one thing is unwaveringly certain: their fervent belief in their god and their determination to see him restored through any means necessary. Just beneath the surface of these divine motivations lies a shadowy, lurking desire for power beyond their means.
Clothing ⁜
Xiulan's preferred style of clothing includes items ranging from the elegant to the tribal. They prefer long, flowing garments that give the appearance of something ethereal and otherworldly--clothing that complements their demonic visage. Though they prefer darker colors, they will wear almost anything that they deem to their taste, including whites and even pinks (despite the fact that they tend to shy away from the overtly feminine).
Along with their taste for fineries, they still hold a fondness for their traditional Dalamiqi attire, which consists of rough-hewn pants and fur-lined tunics. Wooden masks, painted and decorated with rune-carved dzo horns, serve as a staple of their ritual clothing.

!!!HABITS
Xiulan, despite the vast capacity for violence that exists within them, is a reserved person. They speak only what they deem necessary to be spoken, and not unlike the Qestir of Reunion, they prefer to allow their actions and personal strength to define them. They are skilled with the longpole and possess some shamanistic knowledge of magic, which they use exclusively in their rituals and never in combat. They are neither quick to anger nor aggression in most situations, yet there are some seemingly arbitrary topics capable of throwing them into a blind and violent fury.

Backstory ⁜
Xiulan Dalamiq is a self-proclaimed prophet borne of the reclusive Dalamiq tribe of Xaela. Their father, Adkiragh, was a powerful and influential member of the village, responsible for founding the religious sect in which Xiulan and their siblings were raised. Much of their adolescence was spent in tutelage, learning the ways of Dalamud that were—amongst the Dalamiq—beginning to die out. Their teenage years, in contrast, were dedicated to child-rearing, raising their siblings alongside their father's three wives. Suffice to say, their life has thus far been one of hard, thankless work punctuated by the brutal violence their sect asked of them.
Plagued by a roaming war band of an enemy tribe, Xiulan and their brothers and sisters were tasked with defending the sect. Believing their attackers—who behaved like maddened beasts in battle—to be cursed, their bodies—almost always mutilated beyond recognition—were often used to decorate the exterior of their khaa with the intent of warding off evil spirits. Many of these traditions were brought with them, outside of the Steppe, and even now their ger is ornamented with the trophies of Xiulan's more recent kills.
