[edit] Details Personality Relationships Rumors Gallery OOC Notes GENERAL INFORMATION Sayaka Tatsuya was born in a fishing village nestled next to The One River. She grew up with her sister, Ayame Tatsuya, and their now deceased parents. During the exodus from Doma, she was separated from her family and ended up in the clutches of a criminal syndicate within the walls of Ul'dah. Being a victim of black mail, torture, and neglect nearly resulted in her death by way of starvation. Mere days before her body succumbed to malnutrition, she was reunited with her sister and her husband who now care for and fiercely defend her. Sayaka suffers from a traumatic brain injury that was inflicted upon her during the trip by sea to Eorzean shores. The lack of healing magics left the injury to heal on it's own resulting in a permanency of the damage to her cognitive ability. APPEARANCE Sayaka has naturaly jet black hair though often dyed to whatever color she fancies. Her eyes are gray with metallic silver limbal rings that tend to catch in the light. Her skin is soft to the touch and mocha in color. Aspects That Stand Out: ■ Various scars - Various scars from both blade and lash tell a story of cruelty and torture. ■ Disfigured fingers on the left hand - Failure carried consequences. Whenever Sayaka did not meet the quotas of her masters, a finger upon her left hand was chosen at random and broken. Though the others in her position did their best to set the bones, they ultimately healed incorrectly resulting in a slight mishaping of her tiny digits. She still retains their use but no where near the dexterity of her right hand. ■ Under-developed - Sayaka endured years of malnutrition and dehydration during puberty. The consequences of such left her frail and underdeveloped. She can often be confused for someone several years younger than she actually is as a result. PERSONALITY Sayaka is the embodiment of empathy, despite or perhaps because of, her experiences during her time as a lone orphan in Ul'dah. Though profoundly shy and timid upon first meeting others, she is kind and exceedingly forgiving. She avoids inflicting pain or discomfort on others, as well as entirely abhors all forms of violence. She is a practicing vegetarian as she views eating meat as "mean" to animals though she does make exception for certain animal based products such as eggs, honey, or milk so long as she believes no harm is inflicted. L I K E S ■ Odah and Ahme: The two most important individuals in her life also represent that which she cherishes most. She treasures Kodama and Ayame to the point of fanatical loyalty. Their presence gives her an endless sense of security and their absence causes her heart to ache. ■ Carbuncles: Sayaka adores all things cute, fluffy, colorful and nothing embodies this more than carbuncles. Any and all things relating to carbuncles have her attention. ■ Sweets: Second only to Carbuncles, she has a weakness for candy and other sweets. D I S L I K E S ■ Violence: Violence and confrontations overwhelm and frighten the girl. She avoids it at all costs and prolonged exposure often results in panic attacks or eloping behavior. ■ Thunder Storms: Between the violent sea storm that resulted in brain damage and the infrequent but powerful thunderstorms of Thanalan, Sayaka has developed a phobia for thunder and lightening that often terrifies her. ■ Arachnophobia: While she will never kill anything, spiders still creep her out. All things related to spiders cause her skin to crawl. She avoids them at all costs. H O B B I E S ■ Drawing: Sayaka loves to draw and sketch. She does so with a great deal of skill as her results are often uncanny in realism. ■ Edificeering: Sayaka enjoys climbing artificial structures be they simply furniture or the buildings themselves. This is often done to the chagrin of those who care for her. ■ Urbexing: Sayaka enjoys exploring her environment which is often a city. She tends to do so with a great deal of stealth that often surprises strangers when she manages to pop out from an unexpected vector. S T R E N G T H S ■ Agility: With formative years spent living on the streets as a thief and pickpocket, she has developed a great deal of agility. ■ Empathy: Sayaka is very in tune with the emotions of others be they humanoid or bestial. This can give her a great deal of insight into who to trust and who to avoid. ■ Stealthy: One is not much of a thief if they car easily caught. Sayaka is adept at concealing herself or avoiding notice when she really means to do so. W E A K N E S S E S ■ Frail: Sayaka is physically frail and underdeveloped. She lacks in both strength of bone and strength of muscle which can sometimes have dire consequences. ■ Broken Mind: Sayaka has fundamental injuries to her brain that will never totally recover. As a result, she sometimes struggles with memory, focus, and even language. M O T I V A T I O N S ■ Love: As simple as it might sound, love is her greatest motivation. It was something she lived without for half of her life. She desires the emotional security it brings. ■ Home: The warmth and walls of a place called home. A roof above her head and a soft floor to rest upon. ■ Family: The community of family or friends and the belonging of it. He makes me feel so safe and he never makes me study as hard as Ahme does." Kodama is the husband of Ayame. Despite technically her brother in law, his role in her life is more akin to a father figure. It is a role the man has take on with the fierceness and determination one would expect from a Samurai such as himself. His love for the young raen seems nigh infinite and the lengths he is willing to go equally so. Ayame Tatsuya, Sister / Surrogate Mother.  ♥ - "Ahme" Character's Thoughts: "Ahme is the best sister ever! She gives me lots of candy and never seems to get mad at me! Though she does some times make me study a lot." Ayame is Sayakas elder sister by more than a few years. With the death of their parents and the obvious limitations put upon Sayaka by her injuries, Ayame has accepted the burdens of both doting sister and loving mother to her younger sibling without complaint or reservation. Mochi, Biological Mother.  ♥✝ - "Mommy" Character's Thoughts: "I think I remember mommy more than daddy. I remember songs she used to sing and hum. Ahme says I look and sound just like her. Sometimes I wonder if that makes Ahmes heart hurt." Sayakas mothers was a kind woman who cherished her children above all else. She raised them to be kind, emphatic, and inquisitive. She always worked to impart the values of compassion and loyalty. Unfortunately, her life came to a tragic end along side her husband during the exodus from Doma. After ensuring their youngest daughters saftey, they set out to find the elder sister. Before they could locate her however, both were slaughtered by Garlean soldiers. Chotan, Biological Father.  ♥✝ - "Daddy" Character's Thoughts: "I don't remember much about daddy. I think I see him in my dreams sometimes." Chotan was a man of strong conviction though his heart was soft for those he loved. He laid his life to rest attempting to defend his wife from Garlean blades. Unfortunately, his sacrifice was for naught as she died only a moment after by his side. Their remains were later laid to rest by the survivors of Garlean retribution during a modest ceremony. They live on in the survival of their children.
