Character

General

(this is still a work in progress! Check back later to see if it's complete!) She was a participant in the battle of Cartenaeu Flats, during the calamity where Bahamut awoke and nearly destroyed Eorzea. She managed to lead her comrades out of the hellfire of the slaughter. She was promoted to Serpent Sergeant for her acts then.

She returned five years after the calamity and served in the battle of the area surrounding the Praetorium, leading a small 20 man group of twenty warriors, a mix of adventurers conscripted into the Twin Adder as well as standard infantry and they opened a path through the Garleans forces, allowing the Crystal Bearers to make their way deep into the citadel, where they slew Gaius Van Baelsar and defeated the Ultima weapon. Inessa was promoted to the rank of Serpent Lieutenant, despite loosing her entire squad to the Garlean forces and nearly being wiped out herself. She was given this promotion due to the fact that hundreds of dead Garleans were found skewered and piled around her, when the reinforcements found her exhausted with minor wounds.

After a few months, she transferred from the Main Twin Adder force to a division of adders called the Zodiac Bearers, where she now serves as Captain of the Vanguard and often leads the troops in spearhead attacks during reclamation battles at the Carteneau Flats.

Appearance

Personality

Inessa is often extremely polite to everyone regardless of social standing, public opinion, cultural difference's or rank and often uses honorifics and titles such as "sir" and "m'lord" or "lord" when speaking to others.

Inessa has a very strong sense of duty and values honor greatly. She also values the lives of others and will jump headfirst into an enemy, with no regard for her own mortality, neither fearing severe mortal injury and even death itself. This attitude and approach to defending others has won her many ally's amoung the common folk.

In general, Inessa cares little for herself and wouldn't mind becoming a Martyr or sacrificial pawn if it meant saving the lives of thousands if not hundreds of thousands in the heat of battle. (this is subject to change though as she develops as a character.)

Often though, she has a strong belief in the protection of those who simply wish to live in peace and harmony with the others as well as delivering justice to those who would hurt or wrong others, Sometimes to an extreme as she has been known to get carried away when dealing with outlaws and criminal's who resist her. She is most widely known for this due to an incident at Limsa Lominsa where she impaled a notorious pirate captain and his crew, then hanged them on the masts of the ship by their own entrails, thus she had earned the tittle of Inessa, the Impaler, for her brutality towards those who would threaten the lives of the innocent and those who seek to live in peace.

This said, she can be distanced at times. This is most likely a defensive mechanism to keep others safe from her enemys, and it is but she can also be slightly paranoid as not only has she made an enemy of every criminal in Limsa Lominsa as well as La Noscea but every merchant or lord merchant in Ul'Dhal and the Thanalan as well. Even though most know of the incident in Limsa Lominsa involving her, not many know why the Merchants of Ul'dalh hate her. It is because even though she has been offered much money and powerful positions by merchants, she refused them all and even spit their offer back in their face as she did not desire to become the pawn of a merchant, this in turn has lead to great friction between them, both in dealings and ideology and as a result, both sides have constantly conflicted with each other, with Inessa hampering their ability to extort more cash out of others. This has as a result forced merchants to send assassins after her. They were all killed though and their heads sent back, with all their hair shaved off and the phrase "Merchant Scum" carved into their bald heads.

She is also seen wearing armor all the time. It was her mentor, Phalanx, that taught her death could strike you from any corner at any time, thus does she rarely ever take off her armor as she feels secure and safe under a layer of steel platting.

Aside from her prim and proper demeanor as well as her intimidating stature, she has a soft spot for animals, especially Chocobo's. She keeps her personal war Chocobo very clean and healthy and rarely ever allows him into great danger.

Combat

General

Inessa up till the age of 16 was self-taught as well as instructed by members of the Lancers guild until the Elezen X-Dragon Knight of Ishgard who went by the name of Phalanx, took her as an apprentice. She was taught everything he knew and had developed during his time both as a wandering sellsword and serving as a Dragon Knight of Coerthas. She was taught and trained together with Phalanx for two year's until the battle of the Carteneau flats.

Inessa was separated from her master during the awakening of Bahamut, and never managed to find or meet up with him after the battle was long concluded, thus Inessa's training was incomplete. While many believed her master was dead, she refused to believe such a thing and went out in search of him.

Being a survivor of Carteneau, Inessa developed an aptitude for leadership under high stress combat situations, which allowed many of the men and women under her command to make it out of the battle relatively unscathed despite all the chaos of Bahamut's awakening.

During the five year period after Carteneau and she went searching for Phalanx, she developed many survival skills since she is out in the field so often, one of the most notable of which, is hunting and cooking her own food. She also mends her own armor but knows of little else aside from having learned to have track, both people and animals out in the wilderness. (WIP)

Rumours

"Referring to that one Miqo'te wanderer with red eye's are you? Yeah, she move's around alot. She is never in one place for too long but when she stay's, it usually mean's something big is most likely afoot. That and the merchant's are always complaining about how she is "bad for buisness" or some nonsense and always filing complaints against her for interfering with the flow of buisness or commerce. A load of Ald'goat shit if you ask me. She solves problems if anything, but I suppose solving problem's is just bad buisness for the merchants of the city." -Any guard NPC in the Thanalan or Ul'dhal.
"Ah bloody hell, yer referin' ta that Miqo'te lass aint' ye? The one that passed by through ere'? Right terrifying lass she was when havin' to deal'in with criminal scum and whatnot. Last crew that crossed the lass ended up gettin' disemboweled and hanged with ere' own entrails by the mast's of their ship just cause they went an' abducted a few women and pillaged several civilian ship's. Right bloody scene it was." -Any pirate or yellow jacket in or near Limsa Lominsa.
