Character
♦ General
Garre'to was an enigma when he had first arrived at the city of Ul'dah for direct training -- an upstart with dreams and aspirations to become the greatest fighter in the realm of Eorzea. Only a year into his training did he finally realize that not all was going well for the young Miqo'te as he had discovered that the Gladiator's life was grueling and challenging; challenges of which he were not prepared to undertake. Though he maintained an upbeat attitude and kept his lofty goals in full view, his compatriots of the Gladiators' Guild saw nothing more in him than a young lad taking on more than he could handle. Each job that he had undertaken had always gone through unnecessary tribulation simply through his carelessness and his keen eye for trouble.
Though he was no shortage of headaches for the rest of the guild, he pressed on to see his dreams come to fruition.
Early Life'
Garre'to (Or, as he prefers to be called, Garret) was the second-born son of a family of five in the territory of Limsa Lominsa. His mother, the matriarch of the family, remained a close and watchful guardian over her children while his father, intent on bringing money into the family, took the adventuring call. Garret grew up pining for a similar life to his father, growing increasingly weary of the home life. Unfortunately, when he was barely into his adolescence it was discovered that his father had become involved in rather unsavory types -- who saw fit to come down on his entire family for some unexplained "revenge." His mother, being a capable fighter herself, urged her children to escape as far away as they could but only Garre'to managed to do so. He hadn't heard from anyone from his family ever since that day, having since left for Ul'dah.
Garre'to practically lived off of the streets for years, but during this time had developed a capability for self-defense. Around the time he came of-age he was discovered by a wandering gladiator and was recommended to join the guild. From there he had trained formally in sword usage and quickly became a capable fighter.
♦ Appearance
Garre'to keeps himself relatively well-kept, though the armor he usually chooses to wear has seen better days. Worn and scratched with many sword notches along its plates -- marks that Garre'to, himself, is proud to have -- his armor bears the true story of the Miqo'te's trials, showing his dedication to his chosen path.
♦ Behaviour
Often seen as soft-spoken and timid when around strangers, Garre'to is known to be open and charismatic when among familiar faces. Though this differs greatly when he is sitting in the middle of a tavern, regaling patrons with exaggerated tales of his many misadventures.
Combat
Garre'to is familiar to swordplay. His reputation as being quick and nimble on his feet is known through the city of Ul'dah and its surrounding region. However, despite his supposed agility Garre'to favors a more reserved and patient discipline in the use of common sword-and-board tactics. He bears, many times, the heaviest of armor in order to ground himself firmly for defense of himself and his comrades.
That is not to say, however, that combat "tanking" is the only style of fighting he knows. When not encumbered by an over-abundance of plate he moves with grace and dexterity with his sword moving as if in a flash of light.

The nickname represents Garre'to's swiftness and the color of his armor -- snow white.
