History
A former imperial shinobi who purportedly defected shortly following the events at Chartenau, R’phael now operates as a spy in Eorzea. While R’phael could consider himself a patriot, his allegiance, however, is not to the emperor. R’phael supports the people of Garlemald, and may be counted among the ranks of an insurgent faction that is slowing rising within the Empire. Among the Scions with which R’phael associates, it is not a secret that he is a former Garlean solider. He allowed this fact about this past to be revealed as a form of proactive damage control, as well as a means to “hide in plain sight.” If he is to maintain the trust of his contacts, it is better that they know the truth of his origins. Were he to keep this hidden, such trust would be harder to hold should they discover his origins later.
