Ryoko Stormsong, while not a very impressive adventurer, is perhaps one of the more inspiring. With no discernible skills and naught but a vague passage of a fairytale to guide her, Ryoko seeks to restore her family name. Leading a band composed of her older sister, a disgraced Temple Knight, and her loyal canine companion, she searches across Eorzea for the mystical Emerald Sword, Bane of Dragons, lost centuries ago in a land who's name has faded from history. And which may be entirely fictional.

Biography

Childhood

Barrett Stormsong was a man with unusual taste in women. After discovering cat girls during his first deployment to the Twelveswood, Barrett made it his foremost goal in life to bed a Miqo'te. This turned out to be a fairly simple task, as Gridania quickly produced a young Keeper lass named Nayu with dreams of being romanced by an exotic knight in shining armor. He'd heard somewhere that the chances of a Hyur impregnating a Miqo'te were something like one in a thousand, but Barrett was that one (or those odds were choco-shite), because Nayu was looking for him within the month, declaring that she was carrying a child which could only be his.

Barrett brought Nayu back to Coerthas, where she gave birth to their first daughter, Mishka. Up to that point, and continuing onward, Barrett and Nayu continued screwing like rabbits, and four years later managed to produce another child. The family lived happily for many years, albeit constantly terrified by the frequent dragon attacks. Unfortunately, not all was well. Word started to get around that Barrett had not one, but two children out of wedlock, and with a foreign Miqo'te woman. His reputation rapidly deteriorated, and the Stormsongs were no longer welcome in many elements of Ishgardian society.

After the birth of their second child, Ryoko, Barrett took to teaching the girls about nature and how to survive in the wildnerness. This was mostly so he could send them outside during love-making sessions, because four years of watching from across the room had been quite unsettling for young Mishka, and Nayu wanted at least one of their children to be normal. So it was that Ryoko, just learning to walk, and Mishka took to exploring the great outdoors. Among the wolves, and bears, and alligators, and dragons, and probably several other things that wouldn't think twice before eating a child.
