A friendly Brass Blade with an easy smile and a disconcerting loom, Camilo can often be found working the streets of Ul’dah or drinking and gambling his hard-earned coin away. He has a particular fondness for chatting up anyone who cares to listen, though it’s unclear if this endears him to the locals or irritates them.

Appearance

Tall and solidly built, Camilo takes special care to keep himself in peak shape. This care extends to carefully manicured stubble and shaggy black hair which frames a collection of facial piercings. Despite this, he will only laugh and deny allegations of his own vanity. Dark tattoos divide his face and trace elaborate patterns along much of his body, the origins of which depend on who he’s telling the story to. Scars are also numerous and varied in severity and position, a broad tapestry detailing a violent life. He moves with an assured swagger and easy, powerful grace. Never in a hurry, but always with a purpose.

History

Camilo began his life a poor beggar, son of an impoverished Ul’dahn couple with too many siblings at the dinner table. Frustrated and angry, he fell in with the Alacran at a young age after a single honeyed offer. His intentions were initially noble - lift his family out of poverty with the easy coin and bow out afterwards. However, the young highlander found himself disowned once his parents became aware of his Alacran employ. With nowhere to go, he stayed.

Later in life his talents found a more suitable place within the Brass Blades where he continues to work, still firmly leashed by the Syndicate.

Personality

To most, Camilo is easygoing and friendly, ready to offer a smile and share a drink at a moment’s notice. He’s sociable to a fault, quick to entrench himself in the middle of the latest gossip and offer his opinion whether it’s asked for or not. To those he manages to annoy with his chatter he’s gracious and not above good-natured self-deprecation. Should someone actually manage to ruffle his feathers he promptly begins digging them a shallow verbal grave. He's usually reluctant to throw himself into a confrontation, so this remains a rare occurrence.

He’s an unapologetic Monetarist, though he rarely engages in public debate about the matter.

For a number of years he was also a somewhat accomplished pit fighter, though he never seemed to care much for the win, just for the chance to have a conversation with someone he was simultaneously trying to kill.

• Martial: He excels at close-quartered hand to hand fights, whether it be with fists, swords, or daggers. When carrying a shield he often uses it as a bludgeoning object rather than protection. He’s not above using underhanded methods, and will use whatever he can when it presents itself. There are a few rumors of him toting a shotgun around like a prized firstborn child, but it seems someone had the good sense to confiscate it.
• Crafting: He’s not particularly skilled in the arts, but he’s managed to become an accomplished cook. He also dabbles in brewing his own ale, with dubious results.
