Appearance

Ashen is slightly taller than the average Male Miqo'te (approx. 5 fulms 6 ilms) and bares a muscular build, surprisingly so considering his occupation. A lifetime of rigorous physical and mental training have given him a body that you would typically only see on a Gladiator, with the sharp acumen of a Mage. His body primarily is covered in numerous scars, many of which are small and barely noticeably from a distance, while others are much more pronounced. These come from dedication to his training, while others (primarily the larger ones) come from his secret lifestyle working as a Blade (see below). His hair is long and often unkempt, hanging in his face which is also somewhat scarred (though not to the severity of his torso, arms, and legs), his most dominant scar prior to the Calamity was a cross shaped scar on his left cheek that he received while sparring with a friend and colleague, though this is now dwarfed by a large scar over his right eye he received during the Battle of Carteneau from debris created by the shattering of his best friend's shield, an injury that also cost him most of his vision in that eye. None of these however are his most distinguishable features, indeed this goes to the fact that Ashren suffers from albinism, an exceptionally deadly disorder given his race and birthplace. Ashren has incredibly pale white skin, colorless hair, and light pink eyes that are incredibly sensitive to light often forcing him to wear goggles and thick clothing during the day to protect his eyes and skin from the damaging effects of the desert heat and sun.

Because he is a hybrid of both Miqo'te Clans, he has some unusual traits that show from both breeds, including the narrow vertically slanted pupils of a Seeker and the pronounced fangs and elongated tail of a Keeper. Because his eyes are often covered, many believe him to be a Keeper of the Moon on account of his long tail, fangs, claws and pale coloration, as well as his nocturnal nature (though this last part is merely because of his albinism).
