Character

General

Born to a family of Healers and Scholars, Nogi was never comfortable with following in their footsteps. Her father would always tell her stories of heroes fighting monsters or saving the helpless which had sparked her interest. She left home to become a gadiator against her parents’ wishes, and joined the immortal flames before once again returning home to Limsa Lominsa to train with the marauders.

Appearance

Hair: Red hair with blonde highlights. Eyes: Heterochromia, one blue eye and one brown eye. Body: Short with a petit frame. Medium musculature. Skintone: Light skin with very faint tint. Markings: White marks on cheeks and temples, faintly visible against light skin.

Personality

Nogi is a Hot-headed Miqote who seeks to test herself against strong fighters, which leads to her challenging any random passerby. She is rowdy and loves to meet new people (though her personality sometimes scares away her potential friends). She is childish, but not slow-witted. She doesn’t have the book learning of her scholarly family but her intelligence is top notch when it comes to militant matters.

Family

Mother: Youko Shoku

Youko Shoku was a conjurer living in the Dravanian Forelands who travelled between hunting camps, being employed as a healer and guide. She is a fairly traditional “Keeper of the Moon”, or at least was, until she fell in love with Kaido’a Epocan and chose to return with him to Limsa Lominsa to start her own family in the safety of a more permanent settlement, having witnessed firsthand the dangers of living in a wild environment.

Father: Kaido’a Epocan

Kaido’a Epocan is a “Keeper of the Moon” who was born and raised in Limsa Lominsa. Though they share the last name, he is very distantly related to Rubh Epocan who shares similar employment in the Arcanist Guild. He is an aspiring scholar, though most of what he has learned he has taught himself from books, some of which he acquired through adventuring. He met his wife, Youko Shoku, while recovering from an injury he received while attempting to explore The Great Gubal Library. Because of his curiosity and lack of constraints to tradition, he chose the patron deity Azeyma, the goddess of inquiry.

Brother: Youko’a Shoku

Oldest son of Youko Shoku and Kaido’a Epocan, Youko’a Shoku was born and raised in Limsa Lominsa. Following in the footsteps of his mother, Youko’a Shoku left the safety of Limsa Lominsa after coming of age to work as a healer for the hunting camps in the Dravanian Forelands. His family worries for him, though he was trained in conjury by his mother who felt that his healing abilities would be sufficient in his travels.

Sister: Kit Shoku

Of the siblings, Kit is the one who chose to follow in their father’s footsteps as an arcanist. She is the one Nogi remains closest to, often calling on Kit to accompany her on travels. Kit inherited her father’s curiosity, which sometimes leads to situations where Nogi has to jump in and save the day.

Friends

Kit Shoku: While sisters, Nogi and Kit are also good friends, often accompanying each other on travels. With Nogi being primarily a Disciple of War, and Kit being primarily a Desciple of Magic, the two make a great pair while exploring.

History/Timeline

Although born to a family of studious heritage, Nogi always felt out of place. She dreamed of being a hero, like those in the stories told to her by her father. In her youth, Nogi learned of the glatiators of Ul’dah and desired to learn their ways so that she may seek her glory at the forefront of battles, leading her comrades to victory. One night, Nogi packed a satchel and left home to follow her dream. Nogi trained with the gladiators until one day she was called to service for the Immortal Flames. After many grueling battles and quickly rising in rank, Nogi gained recognition and honor among her comrades, though she felt inadequate still to the reputation. After heavy deliberation, Nogi decided to return home and learn the ways of the marauder so that she might broaden herself to attain the battle prowess she desired. With her new training, she and her sister Kit chose to team up to travel the land. Nogi and Kit felt that their skills could be useful in combination as Nogi was an upfront fighter, and Kit was a mage who fought at a distance.
