She had begun training with a weapon from a very young age unlike most girls within the tribe. This was not out of obligation however. It occurred when K'nahli stumbled across a young tia shooting targets with his bow a little outside of their settlement. Intrigued by his skill and accuracy with the weapon, the girl curiously lurked behind him, carefully analyzing his every moment from afar while sitting shyly in the barren land much behind him. It didn't take long for the tia to detect her presence, to which he courteously invited her to take a closer look, albeit still at a safe distance.

Having never met his mother, Alex's father is the only family whose existence he was aware of until he drank himself to death many years later. Not once had he exhibited any paternal care or responsibility for his son other than allowing him residence in their deplorable excuse for a home which would better be described as a rundown shack-in-the-making. As a result, Alex had to learn to fend for himself at a young age, often enough being the victim of bullying from bigger kids. He spent many days searching for pretty seashells to sell as decorative pieces as well as oysters, in the hopes of finding pearls, as a means of getting by. Having met an elderly man fishing one of the days, he was taught how to fish with a sharpened stick. Feeling sorry for the misfortuante child, the man even offered him an old rod for which he would then use to try and fish for food, and on good days, sell the excess for extra coin.

It didn't take long for K'nahli to notice that the young miqo'te, known as K'yhaega Tia spent most days practicing the same ritual outside of the village which, in turn, resulted in her becoming a frequent spectator of his training. As time progressed and K'nahli grew a little older, K'yhaega offered to train her how to use a bow, going as far as to even craft a specially made short bow just so that the young girl could take part. Needless to say, it took some time for a girl of her age and stature to begin using and shooting it correctly. However, K'yhaega was patient and kind in his endeavour and proved to be an exceptional teacher. The years passed and K'nahli went through many changes and assumed a variety of typical responsibilities within the tribe which included hunting lessons, spear training and simply taking care of the young and elderly on occasion. However, this did not distract from her ever-prevalent ritual as she continued practicing and going on small hunting excursions with her tia mentor whenever she had earned herself the free time.

However, not all days were good and the young boy was constantly on the lookout for new ways to earn money, trying to take up small errands and odd jobs for adults in return for some meager coin. It was by the time he was around eight years old that he first associated directly with the pirates of the area. Having sneaked into a tavern in search of work from it's lowly inhabitants, he stumbled across a rowdy bunch of pirates. Naive that he was, the child wasn't going to let their intimidating attributes stand between him and the chance of a meal that night. He asked if they had any errands he could run for them in return for coin. The group of pirates expectantly took advantage of the young boys naivety and offered him respectable reward in return for stealing possessions from shops and and pickpocketing alike. Even had he done this on his own, the boy would have nowhere to turn in the stolen goods without alerting the merchants. Though the coin they offered him was still rather meager, it was certainly much more than he would earn through his other methods. They taught him the art of pickpocketing and diversions, instructing him to first practice on the already drunken slobs in that pit labelled as a tavern. Getting the hang of it quite quickly, the boy committed his first theft the same day from the tavern keeper. The pirates cheered for his success and offered him his coin as promised, for they knew they could take whole advantage of the young boy's innocence in the future.

Her mother, K'nihqa Bashir served in teaching K'nahli many important skills that would help her in the real world should she ever choose to venture from the tribe. Her mother in actual fact, had little association with the outside world in her lifetime but had been given the same advice from her family when she was younger. In addition to this and the typical training that mothers pass on to their daughters with regards to hunting, she spent many days helping train her in culinary arts so that she could provide for not only herself but for her own family whenever that day would come. A skill that would later come to be greatly appreciated by K'mih.

Personality

Alex can be accurately described as a lone wolf. He doesn't often entertain company outside of business relations and his most intimate and prolonged interactions with others mostly falls down to the courtesans he hires or the brothels he attends. He demonstrates a very cocky and arrogant attitude as a result of his near-flawless bounty hunting record. His astounding success rate has honed his combat skills to a reputable degree. Regardless of his infamy, it's not uncommon for him to encounter bounties that are not familiar with him. Even so, most of them tend to succumb to his intimidation tactics rather than having it escalate to violence. When on business and confronting a target he produces a very hostile and fearless nature, one that leaves most bounties aware that it is already too late for them to attempt to flee. Alex retains very few contacts but does associate occasionally with particular affiliates that aid his business. These include, but are not limited to, underground criminal organisations that often request his bounty hunting services, a few inn and tavern keepers that agree to receive courier mail and packages for him in regards to bounty requests and even some corrupt city guards that are happy to share some information when tempted with a little coin. It is fair to say that he is as immature as you can expect from a wealthy, young man his age in his spare time, sparing no expense when visiting taverns, brothels or hiring multiple courtesans at any one time. He is a very capable fighter, mastering a number of areas of combat. However, his area of preference lies with his powerful thaumaturge abilities and utilizing large melee weapons such as battleaxes. Alex has yet to encounter anyone who has posed as a formidable opponent towards him in recent years, however, given his ego and stubborn attitude, he would likely not back down from any fight.

Alex possesses no real ambition that is higher than his current status. He lives a life of luxury and highly enjoys his profession due to his sadistic and apathetic nature. It is believed that his cruel personality was derived from his young life and upbringing. Having never met his mother and because his father spent most of his days as a drunker mess, Alex learned to become quite independent from a young age but kept himself in the presence of the wrong crowds, particularly the pirates that frequented Limsa Lominsa. Unsurprisingly, they took advantage of his naivety and characteristically harmless nature, that he would have expressed to the law-abiding citizens of the settlement, and taught him how to pickpocket and steal from shops for them. In return, they offered him a little coin for his services. He began drinking from a young age and soon escalated his thievery to more violent crimes which included violent attacks on citizens that had crossed or refused service to his pirate acquaintances. Alex left his hometown at the age of seventeen to pursue bigger and better things. It was soon after that he began utilizing his skills and strengths to become a bounty hunter. It was a significant step up from random attacks on the mostly-harmless citizens of Limsa Lominsa and he naturally experienced some failures initially. However it didn't take long for him to perfect his methodology and after a few years his name became widely known and feared by fugitives on the run from both the law and the crime underworld.

History

Childhood

Alex was born in Limsa Lominsa, a small island off of the western coast of the Eorzean mainland. Home to the Knights of the Barracuda, the city is a bustling state of marine commerce as well as being a fabled pirate hideout.

Adolescence

With her life becoming mildly less busy, she had acquired a substantial amount of independence and free time. Naturally, she took advantage of this and allowed herself to spent more time with her mentor who frequented solo or duo hunting sessions. Her admiration for him had only grown over the years and she had soon come to realise that she had grown somewhat infatuated with him. Regardless, she would not allow her feelings to be known for fear of ruining what she already had. She enjoyed any excuse to hunt and further train her archery skills and never turned down the chance to go with him.

This however changed shortly after her fifteenth birthday.

On this occasion, she surprisingly turned down K'yhaega's invitation to a short hunting excursion in exchange for spending some time with K'mih on her birthday. Being quite used to hunting alone on occasion, he happily proceeded for the short skirmish without her company. Many hours later, he still hadn't been seen returning to the village and come evening time K'nahli had become alarmingly worried. Paying no heed to the advice of others to have faith in the young hunter, she hurried out towards the plains in search of her mentor who she was sure had encountered some trouble. She spent a number of hours alone in the freezing desert, desperately searching for any hint of his presence. Eventually, she stumbled over something lying in the dirt, causing her to tall face first into the sand. Regaining her composure, she analyzed the object only to realise it was the corpse of K'yhaega Tia.

Blaming herself for his death, K'nahli became considerably withdrawn and introverted for a number of months as she remained unable to come to terms with her mentor's death. Following his burial, one of K'yhaega's siblings offered an emerald pendant that he had always worn to the girl, claiming that it would have been what the young tia had wanted, considering that he was very fond of the girl and had often spoken very highly of her.

K'nahli has mostly left her guilt behind her, but occasionally has mild periods of depression when she recalls the event persistently. These days she leads a typical tribal life but continues to train avidly with her bow every day.

Family

Mother: K'nihqa Bashir

K'nihqa was born daughter to K'bashir nuhn. She continues to serve as an excellent huntress among the tribe specialising in spears and daggers. She mated with K'yohko nuhn at a young age resulting in her birth of her only child; K'nahli. K'niqha served an important part in her daughters life, offering her training in how to hunt game as well as providing education to the best of her ability. Additionally she also trained K'nahli in her culinary abilities.

Father: K'yohko Nuhn

K'yohko was the succeeding nuhn to K'bashir and has so far mated with three females during his status as breeding nuhn. He has had little participation in K'nahli's adolescent life which is quite typical of many male miqo'te. He did however aid in her care when she was much younger though not to any extent greater than what is typically normal of nuhns. K'nahli does not know much about her father but even so respects him as a powerful tribesmember.

Outsiders coming into frequent contact with the Hipparion tribe may be familiar with a young, female miqo'te practing archery outside of the settlement. She tends to spend a number of hours every day doing so, resulting in her presence outside of the village not being an uncommon site.

Members of the tribe are likely aware of K'nahli for similar reasons, being that she is a very talented archer and requents hunting excursions and training. In addition to this, people may recognise her as the 'strict older sister' that is often accompanying a younger, pink-haired, short miqo'te known as K'mih. K'mih's playful nature is typically attention grabbing and would naturally result in K'nahli being noticed too.
