Appearance

Despite her tiny frame, Aria can always be spotted from a distance, usually donning some form of extravagant evening wear of silks and other finery. Her colorful violent hair and fuchsia highlights frame two piercing eyes of sapphire blue. All of this is emphasized by her caramel skin. While mostly childish in her movements, there is a hint of grace lining her obvious inexperience. Despite her eyes clearly being those of a Seeker, small undersized fangs can be seen when she speaks.

History

Born only daughter of the esteemed Ashlocke family, Aria has been raised in mostly seclusion among the gardens of her home estate. The Ashlockes are a rare, self made family of Mi'qote within the borders of Aldenard. Her grandfather, originally a entrepreneurial Nunh of a small Seeker tribe entered into negotiations with Aria's grandmother, the business minded matriarch of a similar sized Keeper tribe. Despite all the taboos, they fell for each other and were both quickly usurped from their positions due to their near heretical love. This power couple quickly worked together, establishing trade lines to Aldenard where social status is determined by your use, building their own industrial empire. Their only son took quickly to the family business. Living in Aldenard as a Miqo'te was hard for their son, especially being the child of two separate tribes. However, he found love in the form of an escaped seeker female, who was on the run from an abusive Nunh. Their child was Aria.

Aria was raised, wanting for nothing. She was always surrounded by the warmth of her close knit family, knowing little of the business dealings going on within her family. Garlean nobles and Legatus dining within her home was a normal affair for her growing up as business was conducted. Her family maintained many routes of trade among other business ventures that connected Garleans to many other parts of the world. However, her family quickly realized that with the growing Garlean Imperium and spreading war, things were going to take a dark turn as the expanding Garlean border quickly approached their land.

A particular Legatus took an interest in young Aria, seeing it as an opportunity to secure the Ashlocke family within his grip. Hearing through their information network that he ended to ask for her hand, they decided to send her away, knowing full well there would be no way to turn him down. They decided to call upon the aid of a long time family friend and business partner Barbaccia Valadis. The Valadis family was centered within the nobility of Jewel of the Desert, Ul'dah. Sending Aria to be with this family friend, she would be safe behind the borders of Eorzea and the Valadis family's grand wealth.

Since being sent to Eorzea, Aria has not heard word from her family.

Personality

Even though Aria has been raised in the lap of luxury along with the conveniences of modern Garlean technology, her outlook on her new found situation in Eorzea has been rather bright. Though a bit spoiled, she keeps positive in such situations, only seeming sad or put off when she fails to meet the expectations of herself and others. She does her best to remain strong and keep a smile on her face. Among crowds of those she does not know, she can come off fairly reserved and quiet due to her sheltered and shy nature. However, as Barbaccia has recently learned, once she is comfortable around said people, they have trouble shutting her up.

Once past her quiet exterior, she becomes quite the playful and cheery individual, always looking to please. Though she is quite naive to the way the world works and some of her habits due to the way she was raised can come off as quite self serving. It doesn't help how horribly lazy she can be when it comes to anything physical or political in nature. She'd much rather be relaxing somewhere, or people watching in a crowded locale. She has little drive to excel, and typically needs a little push to get going.

Affiliations

Primarily, Aria is in the care of Barbaccia Valadis, an extremely wealthy noble of Ul'dah. Despite only being a bit younger than Barbaccia, Aria looks up to and admires her greatly and can usually be seen following her around like a lost puppy. Though, Aria does go against Barbaccia's wishes in leaving the estate, sneaking out quite frequently to quietly people watch in the Quicksand, one of her favorite places to loiter within. This unfortunately falls on Barbaccia's closest friend, Rhoe Molkot to constantly track down Aria and drag her back to the estate for her own safety. Despite the cat and mouse games Rhoe and Aria play, they have developed quite a close relationship.

Shortly after arriving at the Valadis Estate, Aria found herself caught up within the Rendezvous of the Stars along with her host Barbaccia, being marked with the brand of the Star of Idleness.
