Appearance
While Ava is still far from being intimidating, she is a more imposing than she once was. Her figure is less soft and more athletic than it once was, from her training in hand-to-hand. You'll see her in less robes and more leathers. She rarely wears casual clothing anymore, and always has some type of weapon on her.
She was clearly made to reside in temperate, shady locales. She has very fair, white skin, freckles dotting her face and any other place that sees sunlight. She keeps her hair short now, leaving behind her preference for her long, almost unruly red hair. Her large, doe eyes, are somewhere between blue and green. Depending on what light she's in, they can pass for either color, but in some places they are a nice mixture of both colors; the color of the ocean.
As for scarring, it might be something that is rare to see. She keeps bandages around her neck to hide the scarring that mars it: horrible bite scars that was clearly, and oddly, caused by humanoid teeth. She also has two scars on her abdomen, an incision running downward from her navel, and a larger scar that runs across her belly, and seems to have been slightly burnt, like the weapon used to cut it was heated.

Personality
Avalyn seems to be an example of the 'girl next door' archetype. She is somewhat quiet, yet polite, and very friendly if the person she speaks to returns the favor. She makes it a habit to speak to people who are standing alone, in hopes of making a new friend and making sure the person isn't lonely. She has met quite a few people this way.
But though she was once shy and easily flustered, she has changed. She seems more confident and bold. Her old self can still shine through in certain situations, with certain people. With most people she meets, she can be somewhat quiet, but she is less scared of speaking her mind. Months of bad experiences have bolstered her. She has learned she must stand up for herself and defend her honor, because there might not be anyone else around willing to do so. To some peoples' surprise, this might mean using less than nice language. Another lesson she has learned is some won't listen unless you use their own language against them.

This is the man most people will hear from her about. She openly speaks of the things he has put her through in the name of what he calls love. He has abused her emotionaly, physically, and mentally. He is the reason she is slower to trust and more wary, but also the reason she has forced herself to be stronger. They have a son together named Ryat. He is now thought to be dead.
Zeryr Roemeaux
She has been seen speaking to the man in the lane behind the Quicksand many times. They seem to get along well enough, though they sometimes are confused by each others' behavior. Avalyn sees similarities to herself in the elezen, as they both have been taken advantage of in the past, and she cares for him dearly.
