Belian Lightfoot (born Belian Velmont), This half Highlander Huyr is a follower of Rhalgr. A treasure hunter and trail-worn traveler, searching the world over for relics of the past..
Born in Ala Migho before Imperial rule and raised on the streets of Limsa Lominsa, He is a talented fighter and quick thinker. Now Belian lives a simple life of , moving from place to place. He dreams to retake his homeland of Ala Mihgo and drive the Empire out once and for all and finally find the place he truly belongs.
Due to a series of unfortunate events in his life Belian has gained a very cynical outlook and demeanor but he can't escape his desire to help people and do good even though he may be rough around the edges.
♦ Appearance

Belian is slightly above average in both height and girth, though keeping a relatively small frame. He appears much closer to a midlander than his Highlander half however he is much stronger than he looks. he is well tone and muscular from training and chores most of his life. He has blonde hair that he keeps shaggy and loose. He has vibrant green eyes that seem to shine in any light. By all accounts he would be considered handsome, having boyish good looks with a dash of rugged seafarer.
Belian is quite the dresser, always trying to look his best. He usually is dressed in long coats adorned with pieces of armor. Being a Pirate Captain Belian tries to embody the look. Despite being a bit short in stature his clothing gives him a wealthy and intimidating presence.

Energetic, sarcastic and fun loving.This is the outward demeanor people usually meet when they meet Belian. He is polite but some would say cold, making sure to stay distant, never getting too close to anyone. He usually eats and drinks alone, enjoying the company of solitude. How his name is pronounced is of great concern to him, correcting anyone who says it wrong. Upon finding out that is was born in Ala Mhigo Belian immediately started worshiping Rhalgr, leaving the Navigator and all of Limsa Lominsa for that matter, behind.
If anyone were to crack that facade they would find underneath a pained man, a heart in torture over a lost love.
Growing up and learning to survive on his own has developed a razor sharp cunning and intellect in him. he able to read and size up a situation almost instantly. Having only limited formal education it surprises people the concepts and formulas that he can grasp.
On occasion when the demons of his past overwhelm him, Belian takes to heavy drinking and other substances to try and chase away the memories, often resulting him in passing out in a random location.
Belian has also been known to take on many disguises and personas while he travels. Never having the same story twice. No one really knows who or what is the true him.
Combat

Years training in martial skills and swordsmanship has made Belian a dangerous close quarters fighter. he is very skilled at knife fighting and hand to hand combat. He can more than hold his own in a melee.
He is proficient in many weapons including the Sword, knife, boarding axe and lance. His most precious weapons are the sword from his father and his Greatsword that he named "Worldbreaker"
Though Belian will never shrink away from a fight he will try and talk his way out of a situation first. Gifted with the ability of a silver tongue he uses it to his every advantage. When called to violence he has a quick temper and a savagery that doesn't seem to go with his boyish charm and good looks, using the violence as an outlet for his emotions.

Past
Belian was born the son of a Fisherman and a Tavern wench, Rodrick and Elise Velmont. Belian's father spent most of his time at sea and his mother spent her time whoring in a tavern. Needless to say there was no one to take care of little Belian. He received no education, no parental teaching or upbringing what so ever. he spent his time on the streets. He learned to steal, con and survive. It was a harsh lonely life and Belian resented his parents for not being with him. Even at an early age he was captivated by the sea. He would often go down to the docks and sneak aboard ships. One day while he was exploring the holds, The ship weighed anchor and departed. Stranded out at sea on a strange ship Belian had a choice, starve to death or let the crew know he was there. Luckily for the skrawny blonde kid this was a honest privateer and they were not interested in killing a kid. They put him to work as a cabin boy. Polishing boots and peeling potatoes. It was about as low as he could get but maybe if he proved himself they would let him stay.
Many moons pass and Belian became quite the adept little cook. Cooking meals for his crewmates was fun for him and the best part was he was generally liked by his shipmates. One day every privateers worst nightmare came true. They were attacked by pirates. having only light guns the ship was totally outmatched in every way possible. The pirates only suffered light casualties taking the vessel and the cargo they found would keep them in rum and wenches for weeks. Belian was dragged kicking ans screaming from the galley and a pistol was put to his head. He would have died then and there had it not been for the Quartermaster of the Pirate ship, Gravon Lightfoot, a large scruffy looking Highlander man. he admired the fight in the scrawny boy even though it was futile it didn't stop Belian from clawing, biting and gouging trying to break free. Gravon brought down the handle of his pistol against the poor boys head. They took him as tribute and to replace what losses they had while taking Belians ship. Gravon took the boy under his wing and taught him everything he knew about being a Pirate. This was the father Belian never had. Someone who took interest in him, made sure he was fed and warm, and someone who wanted him to succeed. Slowly the scrawny boy grew into a scrawny man. A pirate feared and respected and Belian loved it. He was home at sea with his brothers. With them he was invincible. When Gravon was killed by a lucky bullet while taking a prize Belian shed his given surname of Velmont and adapted his fathers, his true father... the one who taught him how to be a man, Taught him how to sail, track, sneak, to cover his Lominsian accent, gave him the formal education his parents never did. Taught him the way of the sword and shield. He forged Belian into everything he wanted to be,and the blonde young man owed this old pirate more then he could ever say. So to honor him from that day on he called himself Belian Lightfoot. It was a simple yet profound gesture... and he vowed on that day that anyone who sailed the sea would come to fear the name Lightfoot...
Present:
Belian has learned quite a bit about his past since leaving Limsa Lominsia. He learned that his childhood was a lie and he was really born in Ala Migho. His parents fled the city and was spirited away to Limsa Lominsa when Belian was seven. The trauma of that incident was enough for little Belian to repress the memory of growing up anywhere but Limsa Lominsa. To this day Belian can't remember Ala Mhigo. The payment for this journey was that his mother was to be sold into slavery, she would serve at the whim of the ships Captain who sailed them to saftey. A part time Pimp and part time ship Captain he quickly set about making Belian's mother his new whore.. That is the real reason his father was out at sea and never came home... he couldn't bear to see his wife used by other men. Upon learning the truth Belian cursed Eorzea and all the ills that it had given his family and his heart, this was the final betrayal, no longer would he consider himself an Eorzean. he abandoned everything that he was up to this point and vowed to restore not only the city of his birth, wrestling it from the control of the Empire but to also restore his families honor.
