♦ General
"A year from now, ten, they'll swing back to the belief that they can make people... better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running; I aim to misbehave."
Born Salvius Virius, Traveled to Eorzea undercover with the alias Belian Lightfoot. This imperial defector has turned his back on the Empire to become a freelance Soldier of Fortune. This trail worn traveler has seen his fair share of conflict, war, sadness and sacrifice. he has a cunning about him that very few can anticipate or resist.
All he needs is a ship and a star to sail her by.
♦ Appearance
Belian is slightly above average in both height and girth, though keeping a relatively small frame. Looking at him there is little doubt that he could be a Garlean, Blonde hair and green eyes are almost a dead giveaway of his heritage. Not a pure Garlean, His family was integrated into the Empire years ago so he lacks the "third eye" of purebloods. To his advantage Belian has rather boyish good looks that make him appear much younger than he really is. he is always immaculately clean and well groomed, keeping his goatee trim and his blonde hair neat and tied back. He always smells clean, using various oils and perfumes, his favorite being an oil that smells like a cross between roses and citrus.
When it comes to dress Belian loves to be flamboyant and attention getting. He demands only the finest cloth touch his skin. It is not uncommon for someone to witness him spending a massive amount on custom tailored clothing.
He is typically seen wearing silks and leather of the utmost quality. he dresses as his station requires it, nevermind that he is trying to blend in to the populace of Eorzea who may find such a fancy dresser a tad strange.
♦ Behaviour
Upon first meeting the blonde man you would easily get the impression of arrogance. he is well dressed and he moves with grace and polish. Hiding underneath though is a heart full of mirth and mischief. After belian gets to know somone it's not uncommon for him to laugh and joke, sometimes at others expense. He believes that life is worth living because any moment could be your last. A trait that has gotten him into trouble more than once.
Belian is a very complex man. he has seen heartache and happiness, he has felt loss and regret. Like much of conflict torn Eorzea there are many layers to this man, only a privileged few get to see whats under the surface. Belian is the kind of man that wears his emotions on his sleeve. If he feels something he will act upon it. Very impulsive and he craves affection, leading to more than one relationship problem.
Due to his training as a soldier he has a great capacity to absorb physical and emotional punishment, making him seem cold and aloof sometimes.
He speaks calmly most times and with a slight hint of a Garlean accent.
Combat
Belian has been trained as a Spec ops soldier for the Garlean Empire. he is familiar with guns, blades, explosives and many more weapons of war including Magitek. he has had survival and infiltration training as well. His training covering such a broad spectrum is his greatest strength. He can do a bit of everything and do it well. This diverse tool kit is what makes him so dangerous on the battlefield. He can hold his own and go toe to toe with a blade one minute, to suddenly swtich tactics entirely and use a firearm or even some magic to put his opponent off balance. Or even resort to ambush and Guerrilla tactics. Fighting Belian you have to be prepared for anything and expect a plethora of guile and cunning. He fights smarter, not harder.
Stripped to it's bare-bones Belian never specialized in one area of fighting, so he is much easier to deal with if someone could nail him down and force him to stick to one and only one method of fighting. He would lose his ability to adapt and have to rely on his skill in that one area alone. He is still formidable but not as much as he could be. And of course his size, being on the kind of small side if you could isolate him and prevent him from using his quickness you would have him at a major disadvantage.
Biography
Past
(All of this backstory is a secret and will not be treated as in character knowledge by anyone unless specifically RPed out.)
Salvius was born the thrid son of Caecilius Sas Virius and Elise Het Virius. Salvius's father being a military commander and mother a member of the Garlean Sentate. Young Salvius had the benefit of the finest education and rearing His parents station afforded them. Before Belian was born his parents had his life all planned out for him. The youngest of three sons, both his brothers serving in the Garlean Military, Salvius, it was decided would serve the empire in a more academic capacity. The boy would be groomed and educated to join the ranks of the Imperial Legions. Life was mundane, some would even say boring for Salvius as his days were filled with study. A safe life behind the Empire's walls.
Salvius graduated from every academy his parents sent him to. He was a good student and his grades were exceptional, especially in the field of Magitek study.At age 19 Salvius joined the ranks of the Imperial Military. his drive to be the best he could be and his own thirst for any and all knowledge led him to excel there as well. he was selected for Special Operations, an elite corps of Soldiers trained in infiltration and unconventional warfare.His body and mind was molded into a fighting machine. Salvius was assigned an undercover mission in Eorzea. he was to be a sleeper agent, Inserted into Eorzea and left to live a seemingly normal life, until he was called to action then he would sabotage several key command and control targets and assassinate key figures of the Eorzean resistance.
Salvius Quo Virius had now taken the name Belian Lightfoot, he figured that sounded Eorzean enough and took a few belongings and books along with any papers that can prove he is an Imperial citizen and set out to cross the wall and into Eorzea. He was given orders to blend in and given specific instructions on which signal to watch for and would activate him to carry out his mission. Thrust into a world very much not his own and without a way back because of the open hostility between Eorzea and the Empire, Belian has no choice but to ride this out. A strange thing happened. He came to enjoy his time in Eorzea. In a land free from the Empire he saw people living out their lives as they chose, not what the Empire mandated for them. he was captivated by it, and finally made the decision to disregard his mission and live out the rest of his days in Eorzea.

Belian has taken up a profession and offers his Martial talents as a professional monster Hunter and Soldier of Fortune. Sometimes his makes barely enough money to eat, other times it has yielded a fortune in Gil and rare and exotic hides and pelts. He tries his best to stay out of the way and keep a low profile lest anyone discover that he was an Imperial, hed prefer if people didn't know.
He has worn many masks since his time in Eorzea. To some hes a drunkard, to others a pirate. No one has yet pieced together his real identity.He goes about his life, doing the things that make him happy. He knows that one day he may have to face the Empire on the battlefield. If/when that day comes he will stand as an Eorzean.
