An ex Rogue turned Archanist. This trail worn traveler has seen his fair share of conflict, war, sadness and sacrifice. he has a cunning about him that very few can anticipate or resist.
A loyal and true friend once his loyality is given. This blond scruffy Lominsian is often prone to foolishly heroic deeds.
Real name Belian Velmont but sometimes goes by his alias Belian Lightfoot.
♦ Appearance
Belian is slightly above average in both height and girth, though keeping a relatively small frame. Blond hair and green eyes. To his advantage Belian has rather boyish good looks that make him appear much younger than he really is. he is always immaculately clean and well groomed He always smells clean, using various oils and perfumes, his favorite being an oil that smells like a cross between roses and citrus. There is little doubt the man is from Limsa Lominsa.
He is typically seen wearing silks and leather of the utmost quality. he never got to wear fancy clothes before so he indulges whenever he can. However normally around town a long coat and simple leather trousers are the order of the day.

Upon first meeting the blonde man you would easily get the impression of arrogance. he is well dressed and he moves with grace and polish. Hiding underneath though is a heart full of mirth and mischief. After belian gets to know somone it's not uncommon for him to laugh and joke, sometimes at others expense. He believes that life is worth living because any moment could be your last. A trait that has gotten him into trouble more than once.
Belian is a very complex man. he has seen heartache and happiness, he has felt loss and regret. Like much of conflict torn Eorzea there are many layers to this man, only a privileged few get to see whats under the surface. Belian is the kind of man that wears his emotions on his sleeve. If he feels something he will act upon it. Very impulsive and he craves affection, leading to more than one relationship problem.
Due to his training at the Rogue's guild he has a great capacity to absorb physical and emotional punishment, making him seem cold and aloof sometimes, especially when talking business.
He speaks calmly most times and with a slight hint of a Lominsian accent.
Combat
Belian has been trained by the Rogues guild. he is familiar with guns, blades, explosives and many more weapons of war including Magitek. he has had survival and infiltration training as well. His training covering such a broad spectrum is his greatest strength. he has recently taken up training as an archanist so he can utilize various magical and strategic actions as well. Has a fight smarter, not harder philosphy and will resort to dirty tricks or ambushes over fighting head on.
Stripped to it's bare-bones Belian never specialized in one area of fighting, so he is much easier to deal with if someone could nail him down and force him to stick to one and only one method of fighting. He would lose his ability to adapt and have to rely on his skill in that one area alone. He is still formidable but not as much as he could be. And of course his size, being on the kind of small side if you could isolate him and prevent him from using his quickness you would have him at a major disadvantage.

Past
(All of this backstory is a secret and will not be treated as in character knowledge by anyone unless specifically RPed out.)
Belian was born in the sea side city of Limsa Lominsa, the only son of Gravon and Elise Velmont. His father was a Malestrom officer and his mother worked as a waitress at the Drowning Wench. Belian's mother tried her best to reaise her baby boy but it was difficult with his father being at sea most of the time. As soon as Belian was old enough to be able he left home. Out of the relitive saftey of Mist and into the city proper. A young boy can learn a great many things on the streets of Limsa Lominsa. Belian learned how to steal, how to con and how to survive on his own. he became quite an adept little thief and con artist and it caught the attention of the Rogues guild. A boy of only ten summers Belian was now on his way to be a proper member of the Rogues guild. he spent many years under the guidence of the guild and he honed his craft even further. By the time he was seventeen he could be considered almost a master Thief, the boy was quite the natural. Belian also worked odd jobs around the city to blend in and make finding marks easier. His favorite was a dock worker. he loved being around the sea and the ships. Love strikes everyone even young Belian. For him it was a red haired Alchemist named Nad'rael Reed.They met while Belian was working for an ishgard reserve unit stationed in Whitebrim. he was planted there to act as a spy and report on what was going on in that area back to the guild. Slowly they bacame friends and slowly it became much more than that. However there was one catch, Nad'real was engaged to be married.
Learning this crushed young Belian. He held out hope that Nad'rael who was very much in love with him too would run away with him and not marry the other man. She held to her vows though, not even so much as kissing Belian. She asked him to attend her wedding and he couldn't refuse her, even though he knew it meant his heart would shatter into a thousand pieces. Watching her stand there on the altar with another man... something broke in him that day. he became colder and distant and also was no longer squimish about taking more dangerous and violent jobs.
A few more years pass and now Belian was 26 and mostly left the life of the guild behind him and was now a Bousen's mate on a pirate ship. Belian loved the freedom of being at sea and he quickly grew to love this new life. It gave him a thrill taking what he wanted and and being powerful with his crew by his side. There was nothing that could touch him and he did as he pleased, not caring who he hurt in the process, a broken heart makes a man cold...
Out of the blue, just when he thought all his past was behind him he gets a letter from Nad'rael explaining that she wished to meet him, catch up on things. At first he considered tearing up the letter and forgetting about it, but the old tug at his heart still could not refuse her. He found his way to her home in Mist and braced himself for what he might see, her husband... maybe even children. What he saw was an empty house save for the woman he still cared so deeply for. Over a cup of tea he learned that her marriage was short lived, that her husband died only a few months into their union, a hunt gone wrong. belian's heart lept this was his chance, but fate was not kind to him again. nad'rael was sick, a sickness her research and knowledge could not cure. She called him there to apologize, she knew she had treated him badly but begged him to understand that she had to do right by her husband then fiance. Belian finally forgave her and all the anger and jealousy in his heart melted away. She had a final request for him. She wanted him to be the guardian of her Tome, the book that contained all her Alchemical and Archansic knowledge. he agreed of course because he could never refuse her anything, and before leaving each other one final time Belian got the kiss he ached for all these years.
Soon after that he packed what meager things he had and left Limsa Lominsa and the Rogues guild behind forever.
Present:
Belian now lives in Ul'dah and is determined to master the magics held in Nad'rael's tome. To continue her work and legacy and to absolve himself of those so many years being jealous. Recently Belian has been employed by of all things an Ishgardian noble house. This was honest,steady work and people can rise very high in wealth and power in such a job and it wasn't the first time he did such a thing, even if the last time ended in disaster. He honestly didn't care about Ishgard , their stupid xenophobia or anything else but he played the game and told people what they wanted to hear. Then as if history was doomed to repeat he met someone. her name was Celestia and she was Steward of the house. he was instantly struck by hear beauty but she wanted nothing to do with his advances. he would tell himself time and time again to just let it go, not only was she far out of his reach there was no way she didn't already have someone and he was just going to get his heart broken again. he hardened himself and made himself distant. Everytime he saw her he was professsional and he was determined to keep it that way. To his credit his willpower held for a decent amount of time until an offer he could not refuse was dropped in his lap. It was a fighting tournament, Belian eagerly joined not only to win glory for his house and show he had what it took to belong there, he did it to impress Celestia, saying he would win it for her, which he actually did. To his surprise she seemed to let her guard down a little, she didn't overly welcome his affection but she also didn't dismiss it either. Finally Belian asked her out on a date, dinner at the Bismark. They talked and they danced but more importantly they wanted to see each other again.
Feelings blossomed quickly between the two and soon they were inseperable. Suddenly everything was gone for Belian, his past misery, his anger, his jealousy. When he was with her he felt better than he ever thought possible. The old fear tugged at him though, that suddenly and without warning all of this would go away. Love developed quickly, i guess you could say they were two lost souls looking for one another. She told him that she was in fact not from Eorzea, not even a hyur at all. Her race was called Infernian and she was hiding her apperence. She revield everything to him, where she was from, what she really looked like and even that she was a Princess. This overwhelmed Belian as he was indeed getting into far more than he originally thought. Unbeknowst to both of them she had marked him, an emblem on his chest that her people give as a sign of their courtship. This mark was infused with her very sessence and slowly it would change him too into an Infernian. Belian would not miss his past, wouldn't even miss being a huyr. His future was with her and he took the leap, and though a very painful ritual trasformed himself.he completely and literally changed himself for her. he was one of them now an infernian. Celestia showed him how and also showed him things he would need to know, like how to disguise his own apperence. Now engaged to Celestia Belian has a real chance at a new beginning and looks forward to what the future holds.
