'''Chani Drift''' is a simple stray with a<strike>n unhealthy obsession</strike> love of three things: games, money and booze. Career-wise, she considers herself a specialist in the procurement and trade of goods. You want it, she can find it. At a price.
'''Cima Fhae''' ['''<font style="color:#ab8ecc;" size="2">''see-ma • f/r/-ay''</font>'''] is a refugee of the Twelveswood who migrated with the remnants of her family during the Calamity. They have since come to call Ul'dah their "home" despite struggles with living in a social world. With five cycles of experience under her belt, Cima has gotten better at managing the alien nation and dangers of assimilation. To fund her family, she offers herself as a hireling - putting particular emphasis on the deftness of her sticky fingers. Above all else, she seeks to protect and support her family and rediscover the wild ways of her past. Some remarkable shinies wouldn't hurt either.

Pixie-like and petite with airy limbs, Cima is a "''wisp of smoke''." Designed to be more of a gatherer than a hunter, what she lacks in strength she makes up for in agility. Her facial features are rather thin and small as well, except her eyes - large and expressive (and purposely shadowed by lines of kohl). Her hair, once long and untamed, has been cropped short to combat Ul'dah's unyielding heat. She likes to style it tastefully mussy and adorn it with various baubles, if possible. Distinguishable markings include blue-purple crescent moons on her outer-face (as tribute for Menphina's boon) as well as a tattoo of a chocobo feather on her right calf. Cima has a graceful gait and greets the world with a small, impish smile.

Chani grew up as a typical Lominsan youth: playing pirates, pulling pranks on tourists, pissing off the deckhands... She was happy (even with three older brothers tormenting her mercilessly.) Unfortunately her mother caught a cold, and it developed, and one can see where this leads to. Except before her passing, their was hope. An expensive one. The family's father (a failing merchant) said ''"'Ey!"''... and turned to gambling. If he could just get that jackpot! Needles to say, he racked up some serious monetary debts (the drinking didn't help). And when the hope faded and the family should've moved on... well, he approached a pirate gang for financial assistance. Except after a while the benefactors suspected the father was attempting to weasel out of his servitude, and so the Knights of Barracuda were anonymously tipped off on a "major pirate den" at Chani's residence. Acting on this information, the Knights ransacked the place, setting it ablaze and arresting the three brothers. Luckily (or not so?), Chani's escape was masked by the ensuing takedown of her brothers. As for the fate of her father... well, none of it she's very sure on. And as there's nothing she's been able to do (or find) in the ten years since, Chani has drifted on with her life.

A loudmouth and tomfool, Chani is knowledge-starved and thrill-seeking. Trouble's her name and danger's her game. She acts out of her best interests and isn't above pushing someone under the choco-coach if it means another day of life in her lungs. I advise you to watch your pockets around this one: what's yours is hers, and what's hers is hers. And expect the unexpected. Or maybe she's predictably unpredictable. Good luck!

=====<div style="padding:0px 30px; font-size:14px;color:#b797db;">The Fhae</div>=====

Settled in the Twelveswood, the nomadic clan consisted of both immediate and extended blood. They were mostly recluses with a strong sense of family, custom and a preference for freelance work. Each tribe-member was "''expected to be of use''" and apprentice under a Mamha, perpetuating and honing a specific skill for survival (though the young would pick up various traits from their teachers).

: <font style="color:#b797db;" size="3">✿</font> Mamha Nea, Tinker

: <font style="color:#b797db;" size="3">✿</font> Mamha Risa, Thief

Stories and song were vital and sacred to the group, and their culture was rooted in oral tradition. Each Fhae was raised to express themselves bodily, participating in Great-Sia's stories with physical representations and joining in harmonious, drum-propelled dance. Nea was responsible for their instruments and elaborate costumes, Risa was in charge of teaching dexterity and flow to the children and Mira, how to incorporate (their own version of) thaumaturgy in self-expression, higher understanding and prayer. So the Fhae never saw themselves under "''some strict family code''," rather... they had fun. And they were family - the heartbeat of many meeting as one. For an onlooker within the Twelve's labyrinth, they would see explosive, vibrant orbs of light dancing among the trees accompanied by whooping, drumming, and laughter.

However, this fundamental characteristic of their clan-life was not meant for outsiders, and they were under the rule that they would not present their "''light-filled spirits''" to strangers. Fhae normally only met foreigners quarterly (sooner, if necessary) when they visited the Shroud's hamlets or city to barter their services (and why the apprenticeship between Mamha and young was required). A tent for trade would be constructed on the outskirts of the town with wares that included: crafts (instruments like rattles and drums, wood carvings like masks and pipes), plants (be it for diet, medicinal value or other), fish, spells, as well as services such as: repairs, palmistry, fortune-telling (tarot cards), and clandestine procurement (thievery).

Chani Drift is a simple stray with an unhealthy obsession love of three things: games, money and booze. Career-wise, she considers herself a specialist in the procurement and trade of goods. You want it, she can find it. At a price.

"Is it a needful thing?"

Basic Info

Stray Cat Strut

She's a small, shapely thing - a once gawky foundation turned to womanform. Or turning, judging by the chub of her cheeks and occasional stumbles, fumbles and tumbles (she's a ditsy helmsman). Her voice is bubbly and boisterous (inside voice? what inside voice?) and her tongue as foul as a sailor's. A tad of fire touches her blonde hair and her eyes are the sky and the sea. Beyond that, no real noteworthy brands. She's got a dim-witted smile though.

History

All Along the Watchtower

Chani grew up as a typical Lominsan youth: playing pirates, pulling pranks on tourists, pissing off the deckhands... She was happy (even with three older brothers tormenting her mercilessly.) Unfortunately her mother caught a cold, and it developed, and one can see where this leads to. Except before her passing, their was hope. An expensive one. The family's father (a failing merchant) said "'Ey!"... and turned to gambling.

Personality

Born to be Wild

A loudmouth and tomfool, Chani is knowledge-starved and thrill-seeking. Trouble's her name and danger's her game. She acts out of her best interests and isn't above pushing someone under the choco-coach if it means another day of life in her lungs. I advise you to watch your pockets around this one: what's yours is hers, and what's hers is hers. And expect the unexpected. Or maybe she's predictably unpredictable. Good luck!
