A slight sprite of a creature with delicate features, Cima is... a ''wisp of smoke''. Shaped lithe, her muscles are wanting - though that isn't to say she lacks tone entirely; since training by the blade her body has filled out... some. A figure that - in design - seems graceful... but in actuality, luckless and gawky.

A slight sprite of a creature with delicate features, Cima is... a ''wisp of smoke''. Shaped-svelte and bony-limbed, she possesses a wiry strength; a figure that - in design - seems graceful... but in actuality, luckless and gawky.

Her hair is a mint green with aqua highlights, fashioned in pig-tails and parted just off-center. Cima's eyes are a piercing red wreathed in a long lace of lash and darkened along the corners by kohl, charred petals and/or stones. A noticeable scar tapers over Cima's left eye (a product of her clumsiness and ill-timing.) Her skin, blemished here and there by other noteworthy injuries (specifically a seared-scar the length of her back), is the typical Keeper complexion and as such, burns easily in sunlight.

Around her neck dangles a bell-pendant - tinkling like wind-chimes with the subtlest of movements. Cima also commits to the time-honoured tribal paint of her people, accentuating the outer-corners of her face with blue-purple crescent moons for Menphina's boon.

Cima Fhae is one tough cookie, even if she doesn't look it. A formidable will resides beneath her shy exterior; determination that often lands in her a spot of trouble (neglects to look both ways before crossing the street sort of deal). On the subject of trouble, Cima seems to have innate ability to attract misfortune... and misery follows her like a lost puppy. If it wasn't for her resolution she'd be a hopeless cause, which makes her stubbornness more of a blessing, really. She fights for what she loves.

On the subject of trouble, Cima seems to have innate ability to attract misfortune... and misery follows her like a lost puppy. If it wasn't for her resolution she'd be a hopeless cause, which makes her stubbornness more of a blessing, really. She fakes optimism well.

She has an affinity for living things, be it plants, animals or beings. It isn't a skill she abuses, however: where she could manipulate, she encourages, and where she could destroy, she heals. As taught, she is a distant lover. A reserved observer, Cima knows more than most would like her to - but don't worry, your secret's safe with her. Besides, she's too caught up in her own head most of the time to put her creativity to an admirable/terrible use. To people, she's quietly polite unless trifled with. She fears abandonment and experiences flight-anxiety in combat.

Besides, she's too caught up in her own head most of the time to put her creativity to an admirable/terrible use. She fears abandonment and utter loneliness, though can rely solely on her own company as long as the support exists. Combat instils her with flight-anxiety, but if she loves it she'll fight for it. Her capacity for magic is most potent when she seeks to protect and preserve.

With unusual maturity and sophistication for her age, Cima behaves like more of a lady than a girl. That isn't to say she's soft or eloquent - a casual feminine, with girlish and boyish quirks all round. A kitty-cat that plays by her own rules, deceptively conservative and with her share of inconsistent surprises.

Fanciful and (more than?) a tad strange the more you get to know her.

She is also a devout of the Twelve, highly spiritual and superstitious. Quietly considers herself borderline psychic, sensitive to the supernatural realm.

'''East Shroud. 1567.''' ''Curiousity killed the cat. Satisfaction brought her back.''

: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STuC0Wl2Gfk ♫] <spoiler><center>''. . . ~ O! what a fright''

Vica'a! Risa!

''. . . ~ Guide to grave . . .''

Muma! Pupa...

... They're all...

''. . . ~ O, vanish in night''

... All...

''. . . ~ There's nothing left to save . . .''

I'm all alone.

''. . . ~ O! little light . . . little light . . . little . . . light . . .''</center>

Cima Fhae awoke with a start. The boughs of her perch quivered and creaked, and she thought with sleepy wonderment if her shaking was enough to tremble the entirety of a tree. ''Of course not'' she realized with the gradual re-emergence of her senses. ''A storm brews''. She reached to the vine-snare adjacent to her living-branch, retrieving and equipping her bow and quiver before descending the length of the tree with astonishing fleetness for one arising from a drowse. Her feet met the floor at the precise instant thunder shattered overhead - and had she not been in a foul mood, she would've mused (as children do) that she carried with her the weight of giants, ''even her footsteps were thunder''!

Bouncing away from her forest-fort with a whispering fare-well, Cima attempted to free her mind of night-terrors by focusing on her objective: storms spooked the wildlife and, with the tree-leaves caught up in excited chatter for the anticipated rain, now was her chance to hunt. She had never been good at the hunt - her brothers and sisters and cousins were of the bow, she... was of the "flower." Her mother had put it kindly. Taja thought she was disgraceful. But what had she known anyway - she had all boys. Euna had been able to talk to the forest, too! But then - ''muma thought it was bugs that did it'' - Euna went deaf. ''And she couldn't teach me about the forest-talk anymore.''

Cima halted her sprint, faced with a fork in one of the Twelveswoods' many roads. Crouched low among the brush as she considered her direction, a sudden voice struck out to her. That there was even a voice ''here'' was curious enough... ''a stringed song'', both foreboding and alluring in sound. Ears cocked, she listened closely... incredulously... and with a pang found its familiarity:

<center>''~ O! little light''

''~ Direct me stray''

''~ O, forgetful sprite''

''~ I'm lost on my way''</center>

''That song'' drifted from beyond the paths, and so Cima followed. Gentle drops of rain began their pitter-patter and the Shroud heaved a sigh.

<center>''~ O! silly wight''

''~ Faltering candle''

''~ O, out of sight''

''~ You're quite the vandal''</center>

She felt like she was walking through a dream.

<center>''~ O! what a fright''

''~ Guide to grave''

''~ O, vanish in night''

''~ There's nothing left to save. . .''</center>

Nearly there, and Cima was creeping with the softness of a mouse. She could make out firelight among the trees.

<center>''. . . ~ O . . . little . . . light . . .</center>

The final verse faded in a ghostly hush as she stalked out from among the branches and skirted the small campsite; analyzing the area. Her stomach tightened as she realized the only form of life there seemed to be... ''fast asleep''; a large shape, curled among blankets. The fire was flickering to a finish. ''But... who?'' Cima felt her face contorting miserably as the tears began to well. She was defeated. Sopping wet, she moved slowly out into the openness of the glade and tip-toed to what remained of the fire, desiring warmth as she fell to an overwhelming wave of loss and self-pity. The stranger had constructed a sort of hanging-blanket (tarp) as shelter for himself and his things, and as she approached the pit she noticed a silver-bowl dangling over the dwindling flames. Sniffling, she peeked into the pot, and found her tears melted away from the wafting steam. ''Tea...'' she deduced upon further inspection, and again she was reminded of (what felt like) a life long past. ''Story-telling by moonlight with muma's tea and honey... and pupa's music...'' With a glance to her side, Cima discovered a discarded cup among fabric-covers and stooped to pick it up. She submerged the glass, dipping it, and with the retract noticed fragments floating in the drink... but with a sniff, it smelled of nothing but peppermint. Shrugging, she sipped at the hot beverage while avoiding the foreign scraps. A tranquil warmth gradually sunk in as she swallowed the draught. WIP.

''That music...'' Curiousity spiked, Cima turned to examine the small grounds for the instrument she had heard. WIP</spoiler>

Cima Fhae [see-ma f/r/-ay] is a... well, that is... Cima specializes in the procurement and trade of goods. Simply put: you want it, she can find it. At a price. "Is it a needful thing?"

Character

Etymology

Cima Fhae - translation: treasure, faith. Fae may also refer to faeries. The 'h' is silent unless pronounced in Miqo'te tongue. Resembles the Roegadyn word "Frae," meaning free. Also associated with fray: the unraveling of fabric - Nymeia, the Spinner.

She prefers to be called "Fae."

Appearance

A slight sprite of a creature with delicate features, Cima is... a wisp of smoke. Shaped-svelte and bony-limbed, she possesses a wiry strength; a figure that - in design - seems graceful... but in actuality, luckless and gawky.

Cima's hair is a mint green with aqua highlights, fashioned in pig-tails and parted just off-center. Her eyes, red and winged by kohl, are often caught in a dreamy trance. A noticeable scar tapers over her left eye, a result of clumsiness and ill-timing on her part. Her skin, blemished here and there by other noteworthy injuries (specifically a seared-scar the length of her back), is the typical Keeper complexion and as such, burns easily in sunlight.

Around her neck dangles a bell-pendant - tinkling like wind-chimes with the subtlest of movements. Cima also commits to the time-honoured tribal paint of her people, accentuating the outer-corners of her face with blue-purple crescent moons for Menphina's boon.

Personality

Cima Fhae is one tough cookie, even if she doesn't look it. A formidable will resides beneath her shy exterior; determination that often lands in her a spot of trouble (neglects to look both ways before crossing the street sort of deal). On the subject of trouble, Cima seems to have innate ability to attract misfortune... and misery follows her like a lost puppy. If it wasn't for her resolution she'd be a hopeless cause, which makes her stubbornness more of a blessing, really. She fakes optimism well.

She has an affinity for living things, be it plants, animals or beings. It isn't a skill she abuses, however: where she could manipulate, she encourages, and where she could abuse, she heals. As taught, she is a distant lover. A reserved observer, Cima knows more than most would like her to - but don't worry, your secret's safe with her. Besides, she's too caught up in her own head most of the time to put her creativity to an admirable/terrible use.

A kitty-cat that plays by her own rules. To people, she's quietly polite unless trifled with. Fanciful and (more than?) a tad strange the more you get to know her.

She is also a devout of the Twelve, highly spiritual and superstitious. Considers herself sensitive to the supernatural realm.

Story

Overview
Eastshroud.png
Born in the Eastern Shroud to the Fhae family - shamans regarded for their mystery, cunning and eerie intuition. Clan totem: [red-eyed] frog.
Raised harmoniously with the forest and its spirits; affinity for nature, as expected for a Fhae. However: not particularly as clever, strategic (or attentive) as her kin and struggles to prove herself as time goes on.
Occasionally visits Gridania and hamlets as they wander the Twelveswood - selling/exchanging herbs (medicines, spices; incense), their "gift of divine insight" (fortune-telling), etc.
A fateful night by campfire: their (proud) perception neglects to caution them of a nearby Ixali troop. Slaughtered or separated but all lost, Cima Fhae (eight cycles at this point) is a lone survivor.
While slinking through the Twelveswood a half-cycle later, Cima is drawn into the throng of trees by a familiar song. She stumbles upon a campsite, unknowingly discovering the wandering swordsman (and retired Sultan-sworn), Fohcs, fast asleep. Foolishly drinks from a pot of mushroom-tea and finds herself [down The Rabbit Hole]. Fohcs rescues Cima from the self-induced nightmare and shows her the "silver lining." Cima pours her lonely little heart out.
The two decide to stick together (along with his young coeurl, Klyn-Koena) and lead a nomadic life - every once and a while reacquainting themselves with civilization. Fohcs' views and values grow on Cima and she adopts many of his attributes as her own, considering him a funny-sort-of-father-like-figure. Troublesome trio of teacher, student, and really big cat.
Cima learns by the blade - Fohcs passes down his expertise in swordplay, fashioning her with a rapier to accommodate for her size and strength.
Some cycles later (Cima, thirteen). The wildlife has been behaving peculiarly and the group decide to trek through the dunes to pay Fohcs' sister, Wilfie, a visit in Ul'dah. Cima is impressed by their collaborative collection of treasures.
Fohcs seeks answers. A military draft is received. After deliberation, Fohcs takes up arms with the Immortal Flames and leaves Cima and Koena to Wilfie until his return.
Calamity - the fall of Dalamud. Contrary to the wishes of the Styr-siblings, Cima can't stay idly by and takes up Koena as courser, racing to the Carteneau Plains to "save" Fohcs. (This and the points after may be subject to change)
Enters the battle, scouring the field for Fohcs. Tries to avoid the conflict, though reluctantly delivers a volley of arrows and several stabs and slashes from her sword over the course of the fight. Bahamut splits from his cocoon and against her commands, Koena flees the battle - but not before she manages to catch a glimpse of Fohcs. Cima and Koena manage to take shelter and miraculously survive the megaflare.
Wilfie, who followed Cima (lest feel Fohcs' wrath), discovers her and Koena unconscious among the fire and rubble. Fuzzy on the importance of the two, Wilfie nonetheless brings them home and nurses them back to health.
Due to her half-witnessing of events (between the chaos of battle and Koena's bounding retreat), Cima awoke (one week later) with a vague awareness (and partially scorched flesh): Fohcs' presence had not been diminished... and she knew of him. The rest was a distant dream.
Lives five years with Wilfie and Koena, gradually regaining her strength from the burning and helping Wilfie with her pawnshop. (Semi)Patiently awaits the return of Fohcs.

Rumours

Word of mouth. True or False?

◢ Common Rumors (Easily overheard)
"Slow, that one... must've got bonked on the head when she was li'l. ... Hard."

- Remarks on her mental state

"'er stupid coeurl ate m' dodo! Came back t' a mess o' blood an' feathers, an' tha' thing! licking its chops. Savage beasts - th' both o' them!"

- Complaints about Koena

◢ Moderate Rumors (Moderately difficult to overhear)
"Y'know that Roegadyn-run pawnshop down the street? Heard a beautiful melody drifting from the window above it... there was a few of us just stopped there, listening. Truly beautiful."

- Compliments on her lute-playing

"She offered t' read my palm... ... scar'ly accurate. You don' wanna know, but just... keep away from that g'rl!"

- Vibes and voodoo

◢ Rare Rumors (Very difficult or rarely overheard)
"She looks like a sleepyhead to me - see how skinny she is! Heard she sells that shite too."

- Speculations on illicit dealings, fencing

Wanted

(,,,)(=^.^=)(,,,) To be adjusted. Fhae operates under the guise of a "courier." In sketchier scenarios, she claims to be the "runner" or "fence." In both cases she is the "middle man." She refers to her occupation as "Finders, Keepers," and can be discovered through grapevine marketing. A friend of a friend of a friend of yours. To hire, it is encouraged that you send word (safely) through friends or via carrier pigeon (except Fhae can't read...). Or something. Will work out the details on a later date.

Also, obviously, no reaaal gil is required for this role-play idea, I just wanna have an excuse to mingle with all sorts of character breeds (and have fun doing it!). The price of her services would be pretend-gil or shinies of some-sort or another. She collects rabbit trinkets.

I'm not sure what my schedule will be like at the time of release, but I hope to be able to invest a good chunk of my time into gaming and such. This should work with my character concept as Fhae doesn't (necessarily) exist as a journeying companion (though adventure is FTW and I'm gearing her more towards Scholar meow) and will be making appearances in small doses (I'm hoping medium doses, but...), due to the nature of her business and anti-personality.
