Character
Etymology
Cima Fhae - translation: treasure, faith. Fae may also refer to faeries. The 'h' is silent unless pronounced in Miqo'te tongue. Resembles the Roegadyn word "Frae," meaning free. Also associated with fray: the unraveling of fabric - Nymeia, the Spinner.
Appearance
A slight sprite of a creature with delicate features, Cima is... a wisp of smoke. Shaped lithe, her muscles are wanting - though that isn't to say she lacks tone entirely, she's just built for agility; defensive, not offensive. A figure that - in design - seems graceful... but in actuality, luckless and gawky. Since training by the blade her body has filled out... some.
Her hair is a mint green with aqua highlights, fashioned in pig-tails and parted just off-center. Cima's eyes are a piercing red wreathed in a long lace of lash and darkened along the corners by kohl, charred petals and/or stones. A noticeable scar tapers over Cima's left eye (a product of her clumsiness and ill-timing.) Her skin, blemished here and there by other noteworthy injuries (specifically a seared-scar the length of her back), is the typical Keeper complexion and as such, burns easily in sunlight.
Around her neck dangles a bell-pendant - tinkling like wind-chimes with the subtlest of movements. Cima also commits to the time-honoured tribal paint of her people, accentuating the outer-corners of her face with blue-purple crescent moons for Menphina's boon.
Personality
Cima Fhae is one tough cookie, even if she doesn't look it. A formidable will resides beneath her shy exterior; determination that often lands in her a spot of trouble. On the subject of trouble, Cima seems to have innate ability to attract misfortune... and misery follows her like a lost puppy. If it wasn't for her resolution she'd be a hopeless cause, which makes her stubbornness more of a blessing, really.
She has an affinity for living things, be it plants, animals or beings. It isn't a skill she abuses, however: where she could manipulate, she encourages, and where she could destroy, she heals. As taught, she is a distant lover. A reserved observer, Cima knows more than most would like her to - but don't worry, your secret's safe with her. Besides, she's too caught up in her own head most of the time to put her creativity to an admirable/terrible use.
With unusual maturity and sophistication for her age, Cima behaves like more of a lady than a girl. That isn't to say she's soft or eloquent - a casual feminine, with girlish and boyish quirks all round. A kitty-cat that plays by her own rules, deceptively conservative and with her share of inconsistent surprises.
To people, she's quietly polite unless trifled with.

Story
Overview
- ■ Born in the Eastern Shroud to the Fhae family - shamans regarded for their mystery, cunning and eerie intuition. Clan totem: [red-eyed] frog.
- ■ Raised harmoniously with the forest and its spirits; affinity for nature, as expected for a Fhae. However: not particularly as clever (or attentive) as her kin and struggles to prove herself as time goes on.
- ■ Occasionally visits Gridania and hamlets as they wander the Twelveswood - selling/exchanging herbs (medicines, spices; incense), their "gift of divine insight" (fortune-telling), etc.
- ■ A fateful night by campfire: their (proud) perception neglects to caution them of a nearby Ixali troop. Slaughtered or separated but all lost, Cima Fhae (eight cycles at this point) is a lonely survivor.
- ■ While slinking through the Twelveswood a half-cycle later, Cima is drawn into the throng of trees by a familiar song. She stumbles upon a campsite, unknowingly discovering the wandering swordsman (and retired Sultan-sworn), Fohcs, fast asleep. Foolishly drinks from a pot of mushroom-tea and finds herself [down The Rabbit Hole]. Fohcs rescues Cima from the self-induced nightmare and shows her the "bright side." Cima pours her lonely little heart out.
- ■ The two decide to stick together (along with his young coeurl, Klyn-Koena) and lead a nomadic life - every once and a while reacquainting themselves with civilization. Fohcs' views and values grow on Cima and she adopts many of his attributes as her own, considering him a funny-sort-of-father-like-figure. Troublesome trio of teacher, student, and really big cat.
- ■ Cima learns by the blade - Fohcs passes down his expertise in swordplay, fashioning her with a rapier to accommodate for her size and strength.
- ■ Some cycles later (Cima, thirteen). The wildlife has been behaving peculiarly and the group decide to trek through the dunes to pay Fohcs' sister, Wilfie, a visit in Ul'dah. Cima is impressed by their collaborative collection of treasures.
- ■ Fohcs seeks answers. A military draft is received. After deliberation, Fohcs takes up arms with the Immortal Flames and leaves Cima and Koena to Wilfie until his return.
- ■ Calamity - the fall of Dalamud. Contrary to the wishes of the Styr-siblings, Cima can't stay idly by and takes up Koena as courser, racing to the Carteneau Plains to "save" Fohcs.
- ■ Enters the battle, scouring the field for Fohcs. Tries to avoid the conflict, though reluctantly delivers a volley of arrows and several stabs and slashes from her sword over the course of the fight. Bahamut splits from his cocoon and against her commands, Koena flees the battle - but not before she manages to catch a glimpse of Fohcs. Cima and Koena manage to take shelter and miraculously survive the megaflare.
- ■ Wilfie, who followed Cima (lest feel Fohcs' wrath), discovers her and Koena unconscious among the fire and rubble. Fuzzy on the importance of the two, Wilfie nonetheless brings them home and nurses them back to health.
- ■ Due to her half-witnessing of events (between the chaos of battle and Koena's bounding retreat), Cima awoke (one week later) with a vague awareness (and partially scorched flesh): Fohcs' presence had not been diminished... and she knew of him. The rest was a distant dream.
- ■ Lives five years with Wilfie and Koena, gradually regaining her strength from the burning and helping Wilfie with her pawnshop. (Semi)Patiently awaits the return of Fohcs.
