Appearance and Personality

Doyi appears as a rather neat and well-cared for dancer, especially compared to some of the more seedier counterparts that dwell in the city of Ul'dah. Her dark blue hair which is almost black in the right lighting condition, is kept in a simple pony-tail while the rest of her hair is conveniently cut not to obscure her eyes. Although Doyi's face betrays the fact that she is definitely not in her twenties any more, especially as seen by the small wrinkles around said prime blue eyes, she treats herself with such firmly trained style and grace that she would easily pass as one ten years younger. She can often either be seen in a simple traveling tunic or a typical Ul'dahn dancing corset which although tidy, hides little of her evenly balanced green physique: She is both strong in her arms and chest, but slim in her hips and feet.

Although most folk would speak nary a word to Doyi when she is working as a dancer save for the occasional drunken slur to take off even the scarce amount of clothing she has on, when conducting a conversation with her, Doyi can be considered to mostly be a gentle and calculated personality. There is an aura of calm surrounding her demeanor and she seems to be able to weather any storm when it comes to arguments. However, behind a gentle sway lies a rather crude businesswoman who doesn't really shy away from shady dealings. After all: Gil is what gives one status in Ul'dah, and Doyi is well aware that to rise to the top, she needs to commit some highly questionable acts of which she has already done many.

6th Astral Era - 1544 to 1560 – The Steppes

Doyi was born 35 years ago on the fringes of the Azim Steppes into the Kha tribe. Although her parents were sheepherders, they were also successful traders who sold their milk and cheese to the populous within the outskirts of Doma. Apart from Doyi, the family consisted out of five brothers and two further sisters of which Doyi was the youngest. Although she wasn't aware of it herself, Doyi's parents had made plans even during her early childhood that their youngest and final child would be the one that would conduct their family's contribution to the Kha tribe: Travel west and bring back any knowledge about far off lands to the tribe when Doyi would grow old.

Although Doyi didn't really learn any skills as a warrior during her time in the Steppes, she did learn all there was to know about sheepherding, making cheese, keeping milk fresh and trade. Especially the latter would later aid her in her work as a dancer and smuggler. As Doyi reached adulthood in the eyes of the Xaela, her parents finally broke the news to her that she was chosen to represent the family's honor within the tribe and was asked to travel west. Although at first Doyi felt betrayed, the trust that was placed in her was so great that she was ultimately humbled by it and accepted her duty without protect.

6th Astral Era - 1560 to 1570 – The Journey

Doyi's journey west started without much incident through Doma which she had already visited rather often with her parents. However, her path took a turn for the worse when she finally reached the cold and icy mountains west of Yanxia on the border to Thavnir and got caught in a blizzard. Alone and disoriented, she got lost in a mountain valley until she was eventually rescued by a pair of sherpa's who brought her to a mountain monastery. Having escaped nary from death, it was here that during she was nursed back to strength that she came into contact with the Monks of a the secluded Order of the Triple Headed Snake. These Monks specialized in the three teachings of their masters: Strength, Wealth and Honor. Strength through their skill in hand-to-hand combat, wealth through shrewd business practices and finally honor ensuring that no 'cheating' would take place, though breaking any law was still fair game.

Doyi's stay at the monastery would proof invaluable knowledge for the rest of her life as it gave her an easy means of defending herself without any required weapons. After a year of doing odd jobs and learning the basics of the order's teachings, she continued her travel west and finally ran into Thavnir proper where she would start to exploit her rather 'exotic' appearance as a dancer of seduction. Although all of it was a lie, she even faked herself a rather ludicrous cover story for her dancing acts that she was the daughter of a twin-headed flying serpent and that she was brought on this world to swoon all men into submission. Funnily enough, most of the guests in taverns and bars where she worked ate this story up with a passion and as she travelled ever west her Gil pouch grew exponentially.

However, Doyi's journey would now take a turn for the worse again in Garlean occupied Ivalice where her cover story caught the attention from one of the local Legate's of the capital region of the occupied country. Although Doyi had received such requests for 'entertainment' often, these were always compensated with a decent amount of Gil. However, the Legate was not intend on paying Doyi anything but instead wanted to have an 'adventure with a scaled savage.' Doyi promptly refused on the spot but sadly, this meant that she had brought upon the ire of the Garleans. When she resisted being forced upon and used her horns to impale the Legate's arm, she was arrested for 'harming an Imperial Officer' and thrown into jail. Luckily, her meditation and teachings allowed her to escape in a way she does not wish to elaborate on to anyone but her closest friends.

With the ire of the Garleans firmly in her neck, Doyi decided to travel further west to Eorzea where she eventually settled in Ul'dah. Along with her 'ludicrous' cover-story, she quickly became a reasonably known member of Ul'dah's collection of dancers. Though with fame, also came corruption and over time she slowly descended into various acts of smuggling illegal incense. With the right friends though, she always remained out of the picture in the investigations the local guard organized.
