[edit]
Some call him a man, others call him a beast. Some call him a fighter, while others call him a silver-tongued liar. Yet all of those who know the man know his name to be Elias Grayheart.
Elias Grayheart is a Highlander who at a young age left the comfort of his home despite those he knew protesting such a move, calling him a coward and avoiding his true calling as a member of their clan in Ala Mhigo. But the boy left anyways, trying to find his own way in life. He knew that war was coming to his homeland, and he didn’t wish to pick a side, despite the clan he was in having chosen to fight for the resistance against the mad king. Conflicts were one thing to the man, but he knew that he had no place in a war. After months of searching and crossing much of Eorzea, he found his place not on the mainland, but across the sea in Limsa Lominsa, a city that shaped him over the years. He started off as a deckhand on one of the many merchantile ships that resided there, traveling back and forth between the mainland of Eorzea and the city. In that time he didn't make very much gil, but it was enough for him to get by while he was young. Years of manual labor on the ship made him grow strong, but in his time working on the ship he also gained knowledge of how to be a merchant, often times spending hours just listening and being taught about the various intricacies of the market, how to handle goods and such with the few merchants that traveled with him on the boat. Over time, the experiences gave him strength, not just in his body but in his mind as well. Soon, Elias was able to step out on his own, and leave behind the life of being a deckhand. However in his time in Limsa Lominsa, he managed to get a taste of the seedier side of the city as well, and when he managed to scrap enough gil together for his own ship, he became a goods peddler. However there was some pros to leading such a life, mainly learning how to fight. Although unlike others, he didn't fight with a sword and shield or an axe or a bow. He learned how to fight using only his fists and his legs, and in time Elias became a formidable kickboxer, which aided him in defending his business as well as finding more, although it did earn him a few scars that are visible on his face. Eventually though, he gave up leading that life. Elias wished to return home, to show those who had called him coward that they were wrong and to show them that there was another way to be successful in life. Yet when he tried to return home, he knew something was wrong. He never even stepped foot into Gyr Abania, instead turning tail and running back to his adopted homeland. Since then, he has never even tried to return, although he never has stated as to why. These days, Elias scours the rest of Eorzea, picking up any work that he can find, as long as it is the right price for him.
Elias Grayheart isn't the most towering of Highlanders, nor is he one of the strongest either, but by no means does he appear to be a pushover. Long, black hair tumbles down from his head to his shoulders and slightly past them in the back, with a few solitude locks braided into one that goes over his left ear. His violet colored eyes seem to watch every movement of someone, yet his gaze does not intrude on any person. Several scars adorn Elias' face, having been earned over the years in a few different fights. One is harder to spot, a small and light scar that is above his right brow that runs diagnoally up, stopping right at the man's hairline. Another scar that is sometimes obscured by his hair, but if one manages to catch a glimpse, it rests on his left cheek, and is also a lighter scar. The deepest of his scars and the most noticeable one runs from the bridge of his nose and stopping in the middle of his right cheek. This one, unlike the others, is an easy spot and sticks out like a sore thumb. The man's beard matched the color of his hair, and appeared to be fairly well kept. Lastly, he has brass earrings that at times might not be visible to those speaking to him.
His body appeared to have several pieces of jewelry, with wearing a golden gorget around his neck, as well as a silver necklace with a ruby colored gem enclosed in the center. Curiously though, around his wrists were bracelets made not of any fancy metals or gems, but ones made of rope. The man's jacket was not shying away from most of the rest of his appearance though, being green embroidered with dragon shaped designs in a golden color, with a low cut red undershirt which exposed some of his chest, being held together with a belt and a golden colored metal clasp shaped into that of a dragon. The rest of his outfit was mostly plain however, much of it being a dark color with no special patterns or designs. Elias’ voice can be described as one that fits a man almost ten years younger than him. His voice is one that, although roughened by his years, still seemed fairly warm to those that spoke to him. Unlike many of those who are seafarers, Elias seems to have a fairly weak accent for one who spends many years in Limsa.
Elias Grayheart is a man who comes off as a warm and well spoken person, who seems to reject no initial conversation that comes his way. But he does also can come off as quite cold or indifferent at times, and inaction is sometimes the best choice to him rather than standing up for someone. But Elias is not an apathetic person as a whole, and those who befriend the man will often find themselves a valuable ally.
