[edit] Details Personality Relationships Rumors Gallery OOC Notes GENERAL INFORMATION Born to a Temple Knight and a politician, Em was primed for her life to be given in service of Ishgard. She carries a direct line to Count Charlemend de Durendaire. However, she was born with the features of both an Elezen and Hyur. Shorter ears and a rounder figure. This caused her to be ridiculed and bullied for most of her childhood. At the age of seven, she was sitting after school when her classmates showed up and began to, once again, call her all sorts of names. They pulled on her hair, ears, and clothing. She took it, crying softly, until one of them called her and her father heretics. From that moment, she took a stand against her bullies. Little Em punched the one who said it, busting his lip, and challenging him to a trial by combat. With this fiery temper, her father began to show her the stars. This grew into a love for the heavens and a desire to stargaze. She kept up with this hobby, helped in part by being a part of the Durendaire house. When she was fourteen, she found her father mangled corpse. His death was marked as a casualty of war and Em picked up a lance to become a Dragoon and avenge him. Though her training, she discovered that she was a Warrior of Light and possessed the Echo. This did not stop her or change her course: her life for Ishgard and Ishgard alone. She was not with the Warrior of Light and their companions when they spoke to Hraesvelgr but when Lord Aymeric told the truth of the Dragonsong War, she was granted the vision. In a fit of grief, she set down her lance and took up the Sharlayan art her cousin has always been found of. During the turmoil that had happened after the truth was revealed, Emon’i was traveling in the Brume and attacked– left her for dead with a poisoned blade. She managed to survive the attack but it left her comatose for a week. For a moon or two after that, she was seen with guards around the clock and often walked with two canes or floated. Currently; She is working as a teacher within the Astrologicum with Jannequinard. Em also has her place within the House of Lords. However, she has been considering joining the Scions, if Ishgard could ever let her go. APPEARANCE She stands below the average height of her race, bright eyes shining and encompassed by pale skin. Her features are soft enough to entail her youth, yet still stern enough to engender a sense of power. Her figure, however, is much less discreet; full-figured hips and bosom form a curvaceous outline on what would otherwise be an indiscriminant woman's frame. Her hair is tied back to keep it from her face, though strands still hang loosely over her visage here and there. Despite her surprisingly strong image, her eyes also hold a sense of sadness. Grace, civility and a gentle voice all seem to hold some form of grief, no matter how often she curls her lips into a smile or smirk. Behind those statuesque eyes is the expression of a woman who has seen much strife in her lifetime, and faced it with bravery that has come close to shattering under the strain. Between her figure and her countenance, she epitomizes her people's plight; proud and zealous in the face of constant adversity, but never far from the threatening darkness that seeks to close in around her. PERSONALITY Em has always been confident, having an air of power around her - after all, she was raised that it’s survival of the fittest, and she’ll be damned if someone will bring her down. She comes off as a typical Ishgardian noblewoman. Though once someone gets past that, she’s a really nice person. Incredibly loyal and a healer through and through. There have been several times where she has been found taking care of her friends who were sick or in trouble. Even as a child. When the situation calls, she is cool and collected. Calm. There are few who are in her circle and even fewer that she trusts. L I K E S ■ Stars. The stars have always been a very important part of Em's life. Especially now as an Astrologian ■ Music. However, she does not like being a room full of people and not even noticed by one. It causes her to remember the torment of her childhood. H O B B I E S ■ Research.
