Fayre'a Tayuun Slate Hunter   CHARACTER DESCRIPTION Fayre’a appears to be your stereotypical poacher, equipped with an awful attitude, sharp tongue, skill for survival and most of all, an unsettling hatred for Gridania’s guardian Wood Wailers. He is quick to let others know his distaste for strangers with an introduction infested with enough profanities to make even a sailor shake their head. Beyond his standoffish nature, Fayre’a is best known among his gangs of misfit poachers for his unquestionable loyalty to his sub-clan. When the hunter is not carrying out homely duties in the bosom of the Southern Shrouds, he is more than likely performing a typical adventurer’s work to bring the gil back home to his many sisters. While his new caretaker was insistent on not answering the questions of his true origins, the other members were left to speculate and guess based on the strange marks and ragged attire the boy wore when he first arrived. ▼ TEENAGE Upon reaching his adolescent years, Fayre’a took apprenticeship under the clan’s herbalist, specializing in growing and maintaining herbs that were critical ingredients to his mentor’s works. Upon the end of his adolescent years, however, Fayre’a found herbalism extremely unsatisfactory and left his mentor’s service. Instead, he swiftly managed to join his sister’s gangs and their hunts. ▼ CURRENTLY While Fayre’a and his sisters did attempt to take part in the adventuring scene, home eventually beckoned them back to the Shroud. Select the text to reveal it. ▼ MAJOR ■ Hunting - Having grown up in a heavily hunting centric clan, Fayre’a has easily spent a majority of his life picking up tricks, tips, and hunting ideologies from his older sisters. While trapping is in his criteria, he prefers the simplicity of a traditional bow and arrow. Hunting things other than animals also happens to be in his criteria. ■ Combat - With the many dangers that lurk the Shroud, being capable in combat is one of the many necessities required for survival, especially for an active poacher. His greater strengths is certainly his sharp marksmanship, but Fayre’a has lately grown quite fond of the excitement hand to hand sparring brings. More often than naught, Fayre’a will heavily influence the start of a brawl with the intention of getting to know the other participant better. ■[🔒] ??? Botany - A side hobby he nurtured during his time as the clan caretaker’s apprentice. Fayre’a is painfully aware of how embarrassingly invested he gets into taking care of his plants, so much that he insists on keeping this hobby to himself. Its one of the few things that Fayre’a actually enjoys doing, and has gained a knowledge of gardening and harvesting. ▼ MINOR ■ Medicine - Fayre’a might be talented in concocting salves, but he would much rather prefer not to actually be the one to use it and treat other people. ■ Facepaint - While he's not incredibly talented at it, Fayre'a regularly paints his sister's faces after they paint his. It is much more of a social activity than anything, however, so he isn't too invested in becoming better at it. ■[🔒] ??? Herbology - Although he has refrained from working after his transition into a more poaching focused lifestyle, the Keeper still partially remembers his teachings and experiences from his old practice. Fayre’a tends to keep this subject to himself, of course, unless he’s asked his opinion on the misuse of the yarrow plant in wound infection salves. Apparently he thinks it’s worthy of a heated discussion. ▼ POOR ■ Literacy - Fayre'a simply doesn't know how to read or write, nor does he feel the need to learn even when he consistently runs into inconveniences because of it. ■ Socializing - He hates strangers, and generally tends to avoid meeting other people unless the situation calls for it. His poor choices of words tend to push the other parties away, much to his intent. ■[🔒] Fishing - Despite the fact that fishing is relatively similar to hunting, Fayre'a can't help but be terrible at it.
