History

Before the Calamity, the end of an era

Flynn was born in Ala Mhigo and came to Ul'dah with his mother after the Empire's invasion. He used to be bullied by the other kids and rarely fought back. He grew stronger and chased them away until he was left alone. The other kids ran away from him when he came to play. His mother passed away when he was eight years old. Around that time, Flynn lost his memory of everything that happened. He spent the next few days alone in the rough parts of the city located in the Steps of Thal. To survive he would often steal money from the rich folk. He would also do chores for the stall owners to earn food and sleep on the streets. One day he was almost caught stealing and bumped into two other kids, Lorric and M'risha, who he later became close friends with. A retired lalafell Gladiator called Pepepoki adopted Flynn and trained him to use a sword and shield.

At the age of 18, two years after the calamity, Flynn joined the Brass Blades to earn money. Pepepoki wasn't happy with this. One day he was on patrol with an officer when they stopped a chocobo cart entering the city. The officer accused the owner of smuggling in illegal goods and had Flynn try to arrest him. When Flynn noticed the officer taking stashes of gil for himself from the cart he pointed this out and was knocked down by the officer. A fight broke out between the two but Flynn lost the fight and left the Brass Blades after the cart owner was arrested. He spent the next few years working for the Adventurer's Guild.

After the Calamity, the dawn of a new era

Five years after the calamity, Flynn met up with Lorric and M'risha to go on adventures. After a few months M'risha disappeared and Lorric went out to search for her. Flynn was alone again until he joined the Travellers Guild where he met his soon to be wife, Mackenzie Hawk. He also discovered his real father was still alive and has been locked up in Ul'dah's dungeon for many years. His father, Lambert, had been accused of conspiring with the Empire and rumoured to be behind the death of Flynn's mother, Selphina. Lambert explained to Flynn that Selphina took her own life over a misunderstanding, and he had nothing to do with the Empire. Since Ala Mhigo was lost Lambert had been travelling and looking for recruits to join a rebellion to take back their homeland.

After the Travellers Guild disbanded, Flynn and Mack joined other Free Companies until they could find a home and family to settle in with. They are currently staying with Crystalline, a company that places an emphasis on doing good work not only for themselves. Flynn and Mack later became Eternally Bonded and Pepepoki passed away from natural causes. Their new life together began with ups and downs but they continue to support each other.

Personality

Growing up in the rough neighbourhood turned Flynn into a bit of a rebel. He is a laid-back person, blunt, kind but doesn't express it very well. He likes a good fight now and then and occasionally spars with his best friend, Lorric. Flynn doesn't like to talk much about his past, but when he does he goes as quick as he can.
