Folken Grymtooth is a Highlander Hyur born to a small and secluded Hold within the great mountains of Gyr Abania, to the north east of Ala Mhigo. Forced to flee his home not long after the great Ala Mhigo fell to the Garlean Empire's ever expanding presence.

Basic Info

Folken Grymtooth is a middle aged Highlander who was raised in a hidden mountain hold comprised of ascetic hermits. He is the last of a few surviving members of his home, yet has all but thrown away the culture and rituals he was taught as a child. Instead holding onto only the martial side of his teachings and instead pursuing more selfish interests. At first glance he appears to be an average highlander though upon closer inspection has many unique physical traits.

Name

■ Birth Name: Folken.

Born simply as Folken to the male dominated Hold he was from. He would not earn the surname Grymtooth until much later. Given to him by a band of mercenaries he would travel with. Literally meaning Cruel Tooth, he was dubbed such for his often vicious tactics in combat and his characteristic filed teeth.

Appearance

■ Build: Stocky and Strong. ■ Height: 6 fulms 6 ilms. ■ Weight: 253 ponz. ■ Hair Color: Dark Teal (Naturally Brown).

■ Hair Style: Unkempt and messy. ■ Eye Color: Deep Red. ■ Skintone: Pale. ■ Distinguishing Features: Facial Tattoo, Filed Teeth, Split Tongue, Piercing scar over his "heart".

Folken has a pale skintone and hereditary periorbital dark circles resulting in a darkened coloration around his eyes. He is on the taller side for a Highlander and sports a top of the line phsyique from a lifetime of training and exercise. He has deep crimson colored eyes and brown hair, which he dyes a dark teal color with the use of an salve he makes himself. He has a variety of cultural body modifications. His teeth are filed to points, his tongue is split halfway down the middle, and he sports a facial tattoo along with various piercings along his ears.

Characteristics

Mannerisms: Folken can be brash and rude at the best of times. He has rather poor etiquette and resists most attempts in teaching him in such ways. He can be cruel in his behavior, especially when it comes to perceived weakness

Voice: His voice is moderately deep with a slight gravelly tone however the way he speaks is often smooth in nature, not one to be loud and boisterous.

Personality

Folken is someone who isn't afraid to speak his mind, but understands that tact is important, even if he doesn't follow such tact. He has no problems spewing insults and being brutally honest and has been known to do so just to pick a fight. He loves few things more than open combat, diving into trouble for his own twisted pleasure. This leads to him having a combative personality that often leaves him with few acquaintances.

When it comes to fighting he has sadomasochistic tendencies, loving to hurt and be hurt in return, sometimes to possibly disturbing levels. Regardless of this he seems at least mostly stable on the surface when not in the midst of battle. He is often prone to taking trophies from slain or defeated opponents. He is quick to laugh, but often quicker to anger.

History

Folken's youth was spent training in his mountain home in all manner of things, primarily martial prowess and religion. After having to flee his home he would take up a variety of things to get by, making his way through the rest of the region as he travelled.

Family

He considered his entire Hold to be his family. Most of which died at the hands of the Empire. What few survived fled and are now scattered. Folken has yet to encounter another since then, and assumes they have all passed.
