I'ka Runo is a former mercenary turned adventurer, mostly known for her travels around Eorzea and as a fearless warrior in battle. A poor Ala Mhigan from birth, I'ka fulfills her dream of becoming an adventurer, granting her more freedom to explore the realm rather than a mercenary would. She is mostly seen as a straightforward and confident Seeker, if not stressed. I'ka was never religious, indifferent to worshipping Rhalgr, or even to her patron deity, Oschon. She harbors a deep-seeded hatred for the Garlemald Empire, yet never shows it unless the subject was mentioned somehow. She also has a silent moogle companion which follows her around for reasons unknown, much to her displeasure.

Appearance

I'ka possesses a tan complexion with blonde hair usually reaching past her shoulders. She experiments with different long hairstyles from time to time, but mostly seen with said description. Average lips, thin eyebrows, a small nose and a pair of pale green eyes. She has a fit, athletic body, her abdomen possessing six-packed abs thanks to rigorous training.

Distinguishing Marks

Though I'ka was never part of a tribe, she has her own marks under each of her eyes in a white color. Due to past skirmishes and many life-threatening situations, she had gained plenty of scars and cuts on her back and torso, and three noticeable scars on her face. One on each cheek, and another crossing over her right eye, which miraculously remained unharmed. Her left arm, however, had seen better days. It was ignited from the shoulder down, leaving behind an impressive array of burn scars down to the fingertips. Nevertheless, it is still healthy and functional. But then, only I'ka knows how she gained such an injury.

Personality

Being a mercenary at first, I'ka was a cynical, yet calculating young woman. She would stay within the boundaries of normalcy, usually avoiding anything that seemed bizarre or out of place, especially if it's within a conversation. She also used to make blunt off-handed comments. Her nature slowly changed within the year, due to having close companionships with people that she could trust.

Presently, I'ka is flippant and adventurous, but also no-nonsense and short-tempered at times. She would go as far to tease her friends with a smug smile on her face, frequently making sarcastic comments and jokes. Though she would never show these traits to those who are unfamiliar to her, I'ka would still act open and friendly, given that said persons would show similar mannerisms. A headstrong and stubborn Miqo'te, she would fight strongly for her beliefs, and do what she feels is right. This is also proven that she is fiercely independent, preferring to do things her own way. A thrill-seeker, she sports a drive to be in many adventures, to meet new people and challenging anything the world throws at her with optimism. Yet at times, it is possible that people who never heard of her would think that she were still a rookie and not a trained killer due to her persona, even though she is thrice the latter.

Despite her reckless nature, I'ka knows when and how to pick her fights. As such, she despises getting into battles for petty reasons, deeming them silly and unnecessary. She is deceptively mature, and can be nurturing to the people she cares about. However, I'ka would take certain situations very seriously, saving the jokes until the problem is dealt with.

Even if she has confidence and bravado, I'ka suffers from abandonment issues, born from her sister's death. As such, she can go into depressive and anxiety-filled episodes and would be unable to interact with anyone unless friends give her comfort. This trait is usually well-hidden, and can only happen if certain dynamics in her friend group shift dramatically.

Jill of all Trades - Even if she is most proficient in wielding an axe, I'ka has training in every possible field of combat. Whether it is protecting her party, being the sharp end of the spear, or even the ability to heal her allies through magic, she is knowledgable in knowing a discipline's strengths and weaknesses.

No Pain, No Gain - Need someone to send out on a particulously dangerous mission on criminals, beasts, voidsent or the like? Just tell I'ka who needs bludgeoning. How about more muscle for your party? She can take as many hits as possible without complaint.

A Face in the Crowd - I'ka frequents the Quicksand whenever she takes a break from her training or her travels. Though she is mostly seen on her lonesome, she would welcome a stranger willing to start a conversation with her.

Garlemald's Most Wanted - I'ka's actions after her escape did not go unnoticed to the Empire. While she was ordered her execution, the Garleans are keeping their plans discreet lest they stir the beehive that is the Eorzean Alliance.

Seasoned Adventurer - I'ka can be seen travelling across Eorzea, resting in a nearby tavern or offering assistance should she ever come across it. She would also intrude in anyone's business in places where gatherings are uncommon, either without much thought or out of curiosity.

Soul of the Warrior - I'ka possesses one of many soul crystals, the Soul of the Warrior, granting her strength she had never thought possible. Though she is already a proficient marauder, her training to awaken her inner beast has only just begun. A wizened Warrior currently oversees her progress in Outer La Noscea, where he resides. I'ka has also taken residence there.

Combat

Training in every combat guild across the three city-states, from swordsmanship, to archery, to the arcane arts, etcetera, I'ka can do it all. Though she is knowledgable in every field, she is mostly at heart with using heavy weapons, almost exclusively wielding an axe.

General

Aether akin to a burning flame, I'ka's fighting style is as ferocious as a beast, cleaving her enemies like a farmer cutting blades of grass with a scythe. She is also physically strong. From swinging her axe with impressive speed, and punching a fully grown Roegadyn a few yalms back. I'ka is quite durable and agile, having a higher resistance to pain than a normal person. Thanks to her training in magic, she can channel her fiery aether through her attacks for more destructive force. Despite these advantages, her fighting style can be evocative of her mood. While she is usually focused in battle, she can get impatient and irritated when things aren't going her way, leading her to attack with more force, yet much more predictably. All of these compliment her "berserker" style of battle.

Abilities

I'ka possesses an inherent power, in which she can manifest her aether in gouts of flames from the palm of her hand. In tougher fights, I'ka would use this to quickly turn the tide of battle in her favor, whether if it is bolstering herself with it's effects giving her a fiery aura, or act as a walking flamethrower and continuously shoot streams of flames from her hands. But everything has a limit. If I'ka pushes even further, her power would begin to backfire, inflicting damage to herself.

Because of her aether, I'ka had gained a famous reputation among the commonfolk, giving her the moniker "The Firedrake."

Positive

Hirakatsu Kurokiba - An Au Ra Raen whom I'ka considers a dear friend of hers. They were usually acquaintances at first, meeting in the Quicksand through some small talk regarding their gear, especially Hirakatsu's large sword which fascinated the blonde cat. I'ka had grown to love Hirakatsu as a woman, but disregarded her feelings, saying that she "doesn't deserve it."

Harue Nushiya - An Au Ra Raen whom I'ka considers a dear friend of hers. Harue met I'ka, asking the woman if she had known her somehow. She had discovered that the Raen was an amnesiac, thus volunteering to help find her former whereabouts, and possibly, regain her memories. After doing so, following with the knowledge of her parent's deaths, Harue had grown close to I'ka, welcoming the Miqo'te as her new "sister". I'ka also loves to tease Harue, especially if the subject is about romance.

V'rasha Tenbe - A fellow Seeker. I'ka had met the woman when she was still a mercenary, talking about trivial things and passing the time. She had become good friends with the monk, regarding V'rasha as one of the people who brought I'ka out of her shell.

Tyrone Johnson - A Hyur Midlander who is a void hunter. I'ka had made a vow to join him to give an organization known as the Collective, in her words, to give them a black eye. A fellow Ala Mhigan, she sees Tyrone as a fellow comrade. Dramatic happenings between I'ka and Tyrone had led to her thinking he doesn't trust her, prompting to drift herself away from assisting with the Hyur's own problems to avoid further complications, least until a certain time has passed.

Kaito Nagano - A far eastern Hyur Midlander. He had met I'ka because of his fascination towards her moogle's attire. They both share similar mannerisms, as I'ka enjoys talking to him regarding their beliefs and philosophies.

Maseina Kurokiba - The sister of Hirakatsu. Though they were on good terms when they met, I'ka had grown suspicious of Maseina, seeing hints that she is an exhibitionist of a sort. Her thoughts quikly dissipated regarding to how open-minded the Raen and her lovers were. I'ka feels that Maseina would need someone to keep her company, thus acting as the "big sister" when Hirakatsu isn't around.

Neutral

Anargul Dotharl - An Au Ra Xaela belonging to the Dotharl tribe. I'ka had met Anargul through V'rasha, seeing her as more of a companion rather than a close friend. Still, they liked each other, both making a promise to have a duel should they meet again on the Azim Steppe.

Verith Wilson - A Hyur Midlander, and an old friend of Hirakatsu. Though I'ka finds the man annoying, she harbors no ill intentions for him.

Drekki Drakkenheart - An Au Ra Xaela belonging to the Kha tribe, and quite an eccentric one. I'ka had met Drekki through a cup of coffee they both shared. Though still somewhat off-put by the self-proclaimed "Demon Lord", she enjoys her company, and appreciates the Xaela's skills as a bard. I'ka wouldn't dare dance for her, though.

Miralis Hotgo - An Au Ra Xaela belonging to the Hotgo tribe, and former companion of the deceased Tara Dalamiq. I'ka had stumbled upon her once in her travels. Though much time has passed and I'ka's view of the Xaela is somewhat mixed, the Seeker feels like she could trust her to an extent, thus would like to know her more.

Negative

Tara Dalamiq - An Au Ra Xaela once belonging to the Dalamiq tribe, now dead. I'ka had thought the woman as another acquaintance, but that changed drastically after discovering that Tara had forced the members of a free company through extreme psychological trauma, including a friend of I'ka, all to remind them of a "warning". I'ka had lost her temper that night after the event, threatening to harm Tara should she ever attempt to do that again. No blood was shed, but the two keep a reasonable distance from each other, still bitter about the other. Miralis Hotgo had, unfortunately, taken Tara's life due to the latter turning on the former. Though I'ka had failed to make amends with Tara, she believes the deceased will be nothing more than a bad memory.
