Biography
Early Life
Doman herritage flowing through his veins, born in the tree covered land of Gridania in hiding with his mother. Isen spent the first several years of his life fairly normally despite being seen as outsiders among the Gridania natives, unaware of the history surrounding his mothers past. But like all things it came to an end, Isen's mother developed a bitterly slow and terminal illness that saw his childhood turn from any other to one of early responsibility, caring for his mother whilst seeing to the chores.
After her passing at 9 years old believed to be orphaned, it seemed certain that no one was going to lay any claim to the young Hyur and perhaps he'd actually have been better off that way. Fate would have it that his grandfather would retrieve the boy, but not in person of course, hiring scouts to bring back a commodity he felt was now his to lay claim to.
Making the long journey to the snow covered plains of Coerthas was where Isen's training began under the command of his grandfather, the very person his mother was hiding from. A very brutal teacher of martial arts and ninjutsu, where incompetence or failure were no option and met with harsh punishments. Isen's stubborn nature kept him alive through trails that should have seen him perish in the elements, along with sharp skills and quick thinking. Trained as an a spy and assassin for the imperial empire, cold, callous and uncaring to anything but his cause, shaped and molded to serve the empire at the demand of his grandfather to follow his footsteps.
Around this period in time after traveling back to Gridania in search of answers to his past, Isen followed a local into the spiritcaves who seemed out of place at the time a young and budding Arcanist with carbunkle in toe. Keeping his distance as he followed the stranger inside it wasn't long before the Elezen cornered by several vicious imps determined to end the fragile male. Honor was not something instilled in the ninja, any means necessary to yield the wanted result, finding himself conflicted by everything the Hyuran had been taught while screams for help echoed off the stone walls, saving local death wish crazed locals wasn't on that list.. Yet he let his throwing dagger loose, intervening to saving the Elezen from a certain death.
Samuru became Isen's closest friend despite the midlanders a best efforts to shunt any ties with the Elezen, Samuru's persistent and genuinely kind approach paying off for them both, the friendship eventually evolving into much more.
Garlean Empire
Isen will not openly talk about time spent with the enemy both for obvious reasons of discretion as well as his own regrets under their command, some have haunted him more than others. After having been forced to be part of the Garlean Empire for some time, he met and developed feelings for one of the officers staying a little longer in the hopes that he could pull Serena from the army. This was not to be, the girl proving to be a Imperial faithful, divulging the Ninja's intentions to leave to higher ups. With a large fight and much bloodshed Isen managed to escape returning to Coerthas and taking the life of his Grandfather who ushered him down such a dark path. Afterwards his mind foggy from the bloodlust, Isen would turn to his only friend Samuru confessing to the murder informing the Elezen that he could no longer stay without the risk of capture. To Isen's surprise Samuru would make the choice to leave his home and family to join the ninja in seeking out a new future, unsure of what was to come.

Appearance
White/gray mid-length scruffy hair, blue eyes Tall for a midlander (taller than the game would allow, around that of a short Elezen) Traditionally, with a large scar going across his nose diagonally, though in game currently it's a mark on his nose in mouth (the other face didn't suit him) Isen has many marks on his body particularly across his back, more than one would have from traditional combat, perhaps made with a cane.
Personality
Usually more of the quiet type at first, calculated in his manner and watches others closely, but it doesn't take long for the smart mouth flirt to come around seeming to be a confident individual, though not everything is quite how it first seems.
Powers and Abilities
- Weapon Proficiency (Daggers): Weapon of choice finding them more fluid of a style given the large degree of agility used in his combat, speed being another large factor against a more heavy handed opponent
- Weapon Proficiency (Unarmed): Isen having had extensive training unarmed from an early age is deadly in his own right weaponless.
- Weapon Proficiency (Rope dart): Although not in play in FFXIV Isen would have trained heavily with a rope dart, using the large circles and complicated patterns, a secondary and effective weapon.
- Weapon Proficiency (Wires): Another ancient tradition passed down to this ninja requiring careful forethought, patience and technique one can be highly effective slicing in suspecting opponents.
- Weapon Proficiency (Bow and arrow): Proficient this a bow and arrow, able to hit a target when required and could improve if desired, but it is not Isen's preferred method of combat
