The young Matriarch of the Fanlith family is a businesswoman and budding adventurer keen to improve herself. Enticed by the promise of riches and knowledge she uses her mercantile and conversational skills instead of force of arms to further her ends. Encouraging and supportive of others she is always seeking to help others along the way to her own profits.
She carries herself with the airs of nobility trying to portray the calm and sophisticated woman she thinks would be proper for a leader of her people. Beneath the glamour and flair of her Ul’dahn upbringing Izari is a woman of fierce and ambitious woman loyal to her friends, family, and progress.
Izari is a resourceful and driven young business woman seeking wealth and status for her family. Raised in Ul'dah by her mother, a skilled member of the weaver's guild, from a young age Izari enjoyed finery and status afforded to those in Ul'dah who have money. Before the war with Garlemald, Izari's mother made her gil selling clothing and supporting mercenary companies with her investment. As the war heated she supported The Immortal Flames and tied up much of her money in the war effort. The Calamity wiped out most of her accounts as well as a son, and in struggling to aid the refugees flooding in towards the city dried up what few friends the Fanlith Matriarch had thanks to her gil vanishing in unprofitable charity. In grief she grew ill and turned over what little remained of her money and her place as head of the family to Izari.
In trying to live up to her mother's shadow, Izari struggled to find her way between her inexperience and now being the head of her family. Having seen how old friends of her mother tossed her aside once they were no longer financial peers led Izari to seek employment and opportunities outside of just Ul'dah. Though eager to help others, Izari looked for profit where she could find it and hoped to build her influence up again so that she could both restore her family's wealth while trying to find ways of improving her mother's struggling health and prove herself as an adequate successor. In searching for both gainful employ and ways to improve her skill Izari began serving in the Maelstrom’s 81st Foreign Levy. She worked hard to improve her skills in hopes of impressing her superiors with the endgame of eventually investing monetarily in the foreign levy and the Maelstrom as her mother had with the Immortal Flames. She rose through the ranks to be appointed Quartermaster but her stint was short lived. The 81st disbanded with tensions in Gyr Abania and the whispers of dissent in the Far East rising leaving her without employment beyond her commission work at the Weaver’s Guild. Following the hints of riches Izari journeyed to the Far East to peddle her talent as a weaver in Hingashi. The difficulties of integrating into Eastern society and the Kogane Dori tripped up the Matriarch and she fell into debt through merchant trickery of newfound Eastern rivals and a turncoat business partner from Ul’dah. Working hard to pay off her debts she slowly but surely reversed her ill fortunes and earned her right to sell her wares proudly.
Izari is a cheerful and outgoing woman who takes joy in aiding others in finds pride in accomplishing her goals. She had a well practiced graceful facade, honed from growing up playing Monetarist games of cunning and manipulation, but beneath her noble airs is a girl who enjoys fine luxury and the promise of adventure.
