Basic Info

At a glance, Jace stands at 5 fulms, 4 ilms and weighs in at approximately 128 ponzes. She has green eyes, and red hair streaked with white. Two thin scars adorn her face, one over the eye, the other over her cheek.

History

Recent records of the Miqo'te Thaumaturge Jace Ossura show her arriving in Ul'dah and joining the Thaumaturge's Guild less than a year ago. She demonstrated an uncanny knack for the art, as if she had done this before. A rare individual who knew her from a time past could confirm this but they are few and far between.

Jace Ossura began life as Lommi Pyan, an artisan and dancer of her family. It was not until later she discovered her talents in weaving aether into primal bursts of destructive magic that she made her way to Ul'dah and joined the Thaumaturge's guild. She was no prodigy by any means, her split focus between goldsmithing, dance, and alchemical dabblings hindering her progress in Thaumaturgy. It is during her tenure here in Ul'dah that she met several ambitious Thaumaturges who became her friends; A Lalafell Oozuni Pazuni, a Roegaedyn Soaring Lilac, and a Highlander Greldan Bannvuln.

The four of them were mischievous to say the least, but good spirited. Ambition, however, is often enough to turn mischief into disaster. The lure of a higher, purer form of Thaumaturgy lead the four of them to combine their talents in their first attempt to harness the Void; Lommi providing the structure and reagents, Oozuni the skill and finesse, Soaring Lilac the raw aetherial reserves, and Greldan the limited knowledge they had on the forbidden art.

The four were not heard from again, til shortly before the 7th Astral Era when Lommi returned to Ul'dah and registered to the guild as Jace Ossura. So long had it been since she was last seen none recognized her, and she had not aged a day. The only difference was the streaks of white now permanently etched into her hair and the odd symbol upon her forehead.

Personality

Cold and calculating, Jace shows very little emotion. She errs on the side of caution and practicality, and while not unsocial, she is not the sort to initiate conversation with others without a very specific subject being brought forth.

Affiliations

Thaumaturge's Guild - Full Member: Jace can be seen around the Ossuary performing duties or aiding instructors in demonstrations with newer members. She occasionally takes contracts that the Guild has been assigned.

As a Masterclass Thaumaturge, Jace is employable through the Guild via contracts of rank A and higher (A-SSS) for time periods of a day to a month, though each day she is contracted greatly increases the price.

Immortal Flames - Signed Adventurer: Jace occasionally provides her services to the Immortal Flames should they require a Thaumaturge.

Skills

Thaumaturgy - Master: By the standards of the Thaumaturge's guild, Jace is considered a master, having learned and perfected the spells and techniques they teach.

Arcane Geometry - Journeyman: She understands how to apply this skill both to reconstruction and deconstruction.

Goldsmithing - Journeyman: She maintains and keeps a ready supply of gems to act as focal points on her staves or scepters. She will occasionally take a small commission to earn some gil.

Alchemy - Expert: Considers the understanding of the body and how to mend it vastly important. She can be seen tinkering with recipes specially tailored for aetherial rejuvenation and enhanced focus.

Martial Combat - Novice: Basic Combat training, similar to a footsoldier in the grand companies. She prefers willing forth weapons from aetheric ice to defend herself when Thaumaturgy is neither required nor wise.

Black Magic - Undetermined: She keeps this a secret. A practitioner of Black Magic, the depth of her skill and power have no contemporary measurement outside of a comparison with a Thaumaturge; Which is say, there is none. For the few that do take the Black and live to tell, the amount of power that can be willed into their incantations is often enough their own undoing, as well as anyone else's. She rarely, if ever, reveals her ability to produce Black Magic, however, and it is rarely a factor in her day to day.
