Appearance

Jess’a is scrawny, ill-put-together, thin, scuffed, haphazard and sly. He exudes faux confidence that’s deceptively easy to stumble into, with easy, wide smiles, and equally contagious laughter complete with deep dimples upon both cheeks. He’s a mess of blonde hair, tipped with frayed ends that look as if they’ve only recently been sawed off (and they look far too messy to have been intentional).

Jess isn’t a tall Miqo’te. Barely brushing five feet in height, he doesn’t appear threatening in the least. His form is nonetheless roped with wiry, agile muscles made to bolster his speed and his agility, leaving the strength of his blows often lacking in any real power. Still, it’s nonetheless evident that he's equipped for battle should the need arise, with two daggers at his hips, and countless others doubtlessly hidden upon his person, well within his reach if he might just need them.

His features are fair, and his complexion is pallid. His eyes are mismatched, one a warm seasalt-green, and the other a light peridot blue. His cheeks are full, and his lips are shapely, tinted a soft pink with a small scar running lengthways along them, offsetting what might otherwise be a remarkably handsome face. His jawline is refined, but gentle - his cheeks are arched, and dotted with wayward, light freckles. The markings under his eyes are pink-tinted, and dark; framing heavy lashes and ringed, tired-looking eyes.

A mess of scars and bruises often litter his form, some of which last days at a time, and others that barely see the end of the day. He’s not careful with his body, as it seems; bumps and scrapes are a regular for this Miqo’te. Nonetheless, his ears have both been pierced with simple studs, his left has a simple emerald hanging from it; something that looks remarkably out of place on an aimless vagabond. His fingers are carelessly looped with tarnished silver rings, and even the end of his tail has been adorned with a simple, silver cuff.

Jess’s clothes are a mismatching mess; dark leathers that have been cured for speed, and for comfort rather than protection. They are often scuffed and scarred, as if they’ve been worn to their very limits, and then worn some more for good measure. The acrid scent of saltwater follows this Miqo’te wherever he may go, offset by the bitter edge of burnt coffee beans, and something vaguely acidic that might just hint at the presence of poison.

Major Traits

Light Heart - Light Foot

He is fast. He's agile, and he moves with a doubtlessly feline sort of grace, as if he's somehow mastered control over his limbs to a point of knowing just what his limit is, and remaining well within it. His lack of any conceivable muscle mass might have something to do with it.

Lion's Heart

Despite how callous and selfish he might like to come across, Jess'a does have friends that he cares for deeply. He has an unwavering sense of loyalty; a firm belief that he should always, always look out for his friends, and he does. Often times putting them before himself, a rare display of complete selflessness that he's loath to truly admit to.

Generosity Killed the Cat

Jess'a has a quiet habit of doting on his friends. He'll shower them with gifts, with stolen goods, or foods he thinks they might like; even if it means he might end up going hungry for a day - he doesn't seem to mind at all. It's yet another quality he wishes he was better at hiding.

Flaws

What does that say..?

Jess'a is completely illiterate. He can't read and he can't write, and he's very, very ashamed of this little piece of information. He does his best to pretend that he knows how to read - even if it means following street signs he can't understand, or delivering notes to the wrong person (he'll even go as far as to ask a stranger upon the street to read something for him if he has the chance). He has no desire to learn, simply because it's an imperfection he's trying to deny even exists.

Hiss fit

Jess'a has a remarkably short fuse. He's slow to anger, but when he's angry - his temper is harsh. He hisses and he spits like a cornered cat, making his dissent quite clear.

Scoundrel at Heart

He's a pirate. he's not trustworthy. He's stolen from friends, and he'd steal from family if he had them around. He does what he has to do in order to survive, and a lifetime of living the way he has doesn't leave much room within him for loyalty.

Combat Skills and Style

Jessa's combat style is direct, and fluid. He's remarkably fast on his feet, impossibly agile, and even more difficult to pin down or trap. He relies on stealth, and sneak attacks in order to get the upper hand in combat, even if it makes him a coward. He's very skilled with a knife, and he knows which parts of the body are most vulnerable. He's expert at finding nicks and grooves in heavier armour where he might have to, and he often shows little hesitation in taking down a target. Though, Jess'a will rarely (if ever) kill. He seeks - mostly - simply to incapacitate for long enough to ensure a safe retreat for him. He's experimented with poisons in the past, though his lack of patience has left them unfinished and mostly useless - some of them can sting, if used correctly.
