General Backstory

Born deep within Peacegarden in the small woodlands village of Hyrstmill, Kagi'ir spent much of his youth training under his mother as an apprentice to the local Blacksmith, Gerolt. Much like the rest of the villagers that thrived within the sleepy landscape, he had a tendency to roam around the forest, his own curiosity enabling him to befriend various animals and creatures and collect fauna, studying them for his own leisure and hobby.

Alongside honing his skill with Gerolt, Kagi'ir was born to become the next breeder of his tribe; even as a young boy and thanks to his keen hearing, he would overhear remarks and comments of the responsibilities he would face in his adult years during tribe meetings. He would hear stories of the hardships and dilemmas each breeding father would go through; Kagi'ir knew he was not meant for that role, as he developed a certain disposition for other male Miqo'te.

Slowly and to his mother's dismay, he lost interest in the arts of metal and often found himself traveling without permission to Gridania to learn more about the Trapper's League; those who regulate hunting and game within the Twelveswood. As he grew older, his interest with the group grew more intense, and in turn, joined the League as an apprentice to a rather hardy member, [name withheld]. Training under his wing for the next few years of his life, Kagi'ir learned the intricacies of the Trapper's League and eventually set forth to patrol the Twelveswood to combat illegal poachers and hunters-for-pleasure alike. Through his mentor, he learned firsthand of the fear that swept through Aldenard, the power of the Elementals whose peace would be disrupted when there was an imbalance of nature within the woods.

[add detail about Keepers being poachers/against Gridania.] [add detail about light complexion and being mistaken for Seeker]

Because the Keepers of the Moon were a matriarchal society, Kagi'ir faced backlash against his tribe for his want to pursue a career differing from his mother's intentions, causing him to be exiled from the clan and find home elsewhere. Overhearing this disheartening news, [mentor] offered Kagi'ir a temporary home away from Hyrstmill, within Old Gridania itself. Of course, this new homestead was not meant to be taken without a price and Kagi'ir found himself entering a section of the Trapper's League that not many had heard of.

The Secret of the Trapper's League

Appearance

A rarity for a Keeper of the Moon, Kagi'ir sports a pale complexion with light freckles that blend in, making it difficult to distinguish from his skin tone. Irises mirroring the color of deep woods, they tend to stand out against his other features. However, a bandanna covers his left eye, hiding a thin scar that runs vertically along the side of his face - the result of a fight in a tavern after a long night of drinking. Short auburn hair with natural highlights and sun damage causing a shade of color lighter at the ends, save for black tipped ears; he keeps it short and choppy, partly due to lack of proper cutting tools, but mostly to keep it out of his eyes. Normally found in all dark attire with gold accents lining the breast pockets and tassels at his shoulders, he is hardly ever seen with his uniform in disarray.

Beneath the uniform, Kagi'ir hides a well-toned body. After years of honing his body as a vessel to the Echo, he has also trained specific muscles to endure the long fights and chases through all manners of weather and obstacles one in his line of work often tend to go through. Naturally, his body is also marked with various scars and blemishes - all of which have a story in themselves.
