Appearance & Personality

 Kira is slightly taller than average for a male miqo'te, at a little over 5'6", with a lean build befitting his role as a mage averse to physical combat. His skin is a flawless porcelain and his eyes golden; his hair and tail, silky and feathered, are coloured a rich, dark amethyst. Kira takes care to maintain his appearance, including the use of makeup such as eyeshadow. His nails are naturally sharp, but he regularly wears dark, claw-like nail extensions. Scent is important to Kira, and he always ensures that his own scent is as elegant as his looks, favouring a delicate lavender fragrance.

 Kira speaks with a smooth, soft voice combined with a refined accent befitting of a man raised by a Lady of Ishgard. He never shouts, his voice ever remaining calm and even; in anger his voice becomes yet softer and effortlessly threatening.

 To the outside world, Kira, seems to be the very model of elegance; suave, polite, charming, confident and alluring. This is, however, a mask that he has cultivated. Behind the façade, Kira is still emotionally shattered from the loss of his childhood love, and has not truly loved another since. Although he is mostly cordial, he can be coldly calculating and manipulative, freely using charm and seduction to get what he wants. He is rarely actively malevolent, rather guided by his own set of morals. As far as he is concerned, charming or seducing a target to obtain information from them brings them happiness due to the affection and brings him the information he desires; the thought that he is toying with their hearts would not really make sense to him.

 Those grey morals make Kira a character of contrast. To those he does genuinely value, the ones he considers to be his true friends, Kira is caring and highly loyal, willing to do almost anything to keep them safe and content. To those he considers his enemies, those he considers to be sub-human, Kira is utterly cold and lethally cruel; he has no qualms about hurting or killing those who oppose him, at which point his more sadistic traits come to the fore.

 Naturally intelligent and raised by a highly driven scholar, Kira is well educated. He learns quickly, has an excellent memory, and has a good understanding of the subjects that were Lady Aveline's passion, specifically alchemy, arcanima and Allagan history. He hungers for knowledge and ever seeks to uncover and master lost techniques and arts.

■ Born to Khiyra Exjeiah, Kira's birth name was thusly Khiyra'a Exjeiah. Lady Aveline, however, never made the effort to understand the naming conventions of her Miqo'te servants, and so she simply phonetically transcribed the name. Although Kira is aware of this, he continues to use the name he was raised with.

■ Kira's hair and tail were originally black when he was a kit; the current deep amethyst was a side effect of one of Lady Aveline's experiments to increase his aetherial attunement with the use of alchemical concoctions.

■ Kira possesses a mild form of the Echo, manifesting primarily in rare visions when under intense emotional stress; it also renders him immune to being fully claimed by a Primal.

■ Despite the Echo, the sheer awe Kira felt upon witnessing the destructive power of Garuda first-hand allowed a shade of Her will into his mind. Following the shock of losing his lover, Azahn'a, so soon after the battle, that shade took hold, warping some of his terrible grief into a sadistic desire for revenge, a desire to utterly destroy those who 'deserved' to die and to make them suffer.
