General ➺

Kubo was born to Limsan seamstress Fari Saanhi and Doman merchant Isamu Kita. Growing up, she saw little of her father due to his many travels, though she and her mother lived comfortably and relatively happily. Isamu would often bring young Kubo gifts from around the world, and his scattered visits were the cause of great joy for her. Yet tragedy soon struck. As Isamu peddled his wares in Othard, the Garlean invasion of Doma took place, and he never came home.

Isamu’s disappearance was a point of great contention and grief for Kubo and her mother, and as an adult she still desperately desires to learn what became of her father. This led to an obsession with the sea and what lays beyond–to the Far East, which she dreams of one day visiting now that the Garlean occupation of Doma has ended. She would often hang around the docks and desperately hound merchants and pirates alike (though the latter with a degree of delicacy) from Kugane for any information.

Clothing ➺

Kubo, as the daughter of a polished seamstress, is no stranger to dressing well. She loves anything with frills and ruffles, pink and green and pastel yellow. Dresses are a favorite of hers, though she is no stranger to dressing more androgynously if the fancy strikes her. The only constant element in her outfits are her round glasses.

Gentle and soft, though not lacking for enthusiasm, Ime'tan speaks with his heart and soul.

Personality-wise, Kubo is cursed with both an incredible capacity for embarrassment and the utter inability to keep her mouth shut. She often blurts out the first thing to cross her mind, which leads to a vicious cycle of furious blushing and nervous babbling. Yet at her core, she is a good person despite her tendency to get caught up with the wrong crowd–an unavoidable side-effect of growing up in Limsa. She always tries to see the best in others, which serves as both her greatest strength and greatest weakness.
